Exploring the Castle (Open)

Jackson could kind of understand that. "I'm just saying its not your responsibility to clean up her messes." He kind of wanted to change the subject, but how? "...So, er, don't feel like you have to tell me, but, if it's not too personal, who do you live with?" She didn't live with her parents because apparently they were dead, so who?

"It's alright... Well I live alone. I've lived like that for a full year now. But there are some adults that sometimes come to visit me or invite me to stay at their homes. Friends of my parents you see. My godmother is one of them. She's my guardian you see? The only reason why I don't live with her is because my sister visits her like... every couple of months."

"But how do you, like, do stuff?" Jackson rubbed his head, trying to find the right words. "Like getting places and making food and paying for water and stuff?" He was kind of amazed Ruby's godmother would allow the sister to keep visiting, but was more interested on how she did everything alone.

"Well... When it comes to cooking, I've learned some easy recepies from a Muggle TV show. Usually when I travel, I use the Knight Bus. And paying for stuff... My godmother helps with the bills and school spendings. My parents also had some money saved up when they died, so that helps quite a bit aswell." She was quite used to being alone. In the last year, she spent a lot of her time reading books and studying what she would be studying if she ever got to Hogwarts. Obviously, it was well placed wager.

"Ugh, I took the Knight Bus once." He put a hand on his stomach, remembering being sick afterwards. "Is it something you ever get used to?"

She laughed "It's something that takes time, but after a while it's normal. During the first couple of trips, I kinda lost some weight." As she said this, her stomach grumbled. "Speaking of which... Wanna go grab a bite?"

"Sure." Jackson chuckled, liking her phrase for being sick. "To the Great Hall."
