| Mary took a load of glasses out of the muggle dishwasher and put another load in, keeping an eye on the patrons and door as she put the clean glasses away and wiped the bar down for the umpteenth time that day. | |

| Gendan walked into the bar, glaring at all the muggles. The only thing he liked about them was their suits. He was wearing a nice one he successfully conjured prior to entering London. He decided to take a stool by the bar where there weren't many people and ordered his first drink of the night. | |

| "I'll have a hit of whatever is in that." McBride pointed to a bottle behind Mary. "How much will that cost me? Preferably less than an arm or a leg if that works." | |

| Mary grabbed the bottle and poured the man a shot. "This is 1 pound or 3 sickles 11 knuts per." | |

| Gendan looked into his sadly flattened wallet and pulled out three pound. "Let's start with these and see how the night goes.. I'm all out of our money." He told her, hinting that he's a wizard since he's dressed like a muggle. He glanced around the bar and was tempted to fling some spells around but resisted the urge. He needed a place he could go and although muggles were here, the drink is is too good to risk. Plus the bartender's cute and that's always a plus. | |

| "Either kind of money, and I can make exchanges if you need." Mary smiled and nodded, setting the man up 2 more shots. "I have firewhiskey if you want some of that at any point." She could usually tell if a person was magical or muggle by their reaction to the bar's prices. Almost all the muggles asked what kind of currency a knut was, which she shrugged off by saying they'd had folks from abroad recently. | |

| "If I can get some more money in the first place maybe I'll take you up on that exchange." McBride took both shots. "I'll take you up on the fire whiskey in a bit. Gonna let this settle first. How is it running a fine establishment like this?" He was truly curious about this place and was already growing fond of the drinks. | |

| "Hectic." Mary grinned at the man, putting his money in the till for pounds and pence. "Difficult. Loads of work. But rewarding. Bloody worth it." She raised a hand in farewell to a man leaving, grabbing his glass from a small round table and wiping the table with a rag. | |

| "I'm surprised you let muggles in here." McBride glared at a man who clearly over indulged in his liquor. "I personally can't stand them for the most part," Gendan grumbled as he looked down at his seemingly brand new suit before adding "although their clothing is astounding. I love my suit."
He glanced quickly at Mary to see her reaction, trying not to be too open yet about his belief that muggles are a pestilence to the wizarding world but believing he may have spoken before thinking yet again.

| Mary frowned and turned to the man. "The woman who founded this pub wanted to make a place where muggles and magical folk could hang out together and have a good time. I believe in that. You can believe whatever you like as long as you don't make a fuss." She shrugged and hung the rag on her shoulder as she returned to the bar to put the glass with the other dirties. Why would someone who didn't like muggles come to a muggle-friendly pub? | |

| Gendan sighed and looked around again. He saw people laughing and dancing. He saw others hiding, one pair of older men were having what appeared to be a very in-depth and serious conversation. There were only a few others sitting alone and only one who was probably upset by one problem or another. It was a pub like any other. He despised muggles but he was still a stereotypical Irishman. He already grew fond of the bar and wasn't going to let himself get kicked out, despite some of the unwelcomed company (at least to his standards).
With this in mind, he called out to the bartender and although he didn't apologize for his previous remark (Irishmen can be so stubborn) he did tell her he wouldn't make a fuss.
"How 'bout one of those fire whiskeys? You mind if I pay in pounds?"

| "Coming right up." Mary replied with a small grin as she poured the drink. So he was going to tolerate the muggles. She might have another regular, then. "And you already told me that's all you've got." She lightly teased as she set it down in front of him and went to replace the empty beers of a table of three.
"Heeeey, Mary, howsabout another?" A man asked, leaning off his stool to get her attention. "No, Tim, you're done." She frowned at the man, his posture aggressively poor. "'S not fair, you're as much of an alcoholic's I'm." He was half arguing, half whining. She put her hands on her hips. "Which makes me even more qualified to tell you you're done. I'll get you a water and a packet of crisps." "Beer." "You're getting water and crisps, mate." Mary tossed over her shoulder as she headed back to the bar. Tim grumbled and put his head down on the table.

| Gendan nodded and reached for the new drink. He was about to say something when Tim stumbled over and slurred his words all over the bar-top. Half disgusted and half amused, he resisted the temptation to magically tie the man's shoes. It would've been a harmless prank for his amusement but he knew the lady pouring his drinks would tell who did it and he really didn't want to anger her. He still believed the man should hold his drinks better though. Silly Brits with their tiny livers.
After Mary came back with Tim's waters, he told her with a smirk "I 'ave some money still. Just not enough to make an exchange worth-me-while. 'ow much did this one cost me?"
(I'm a derp.. I should've been typing with an Irish accent the whole time. Gotta remember to start doing that)

| ((It's cool)) "One pound fifty." Mary nodded at his glass. "And I meant I know you've only got pounds, did you go round to another pub before stopping here?" Mary grinned, back to her friendly, cheerful self. She handed Tim a packet of sour cream and onion crisps. "You want another business card for AA, or do you still have the last one I gave you?" She folded her arms on the bar. "'s on my fridge." "Two pounds for the crisps." "Dun have it." "How were you going to pay for the beer? You know I don't keep tabs." "Worth a shot." Tim grumbled as he pulled the notes from his wallet. "Thank you." Mary accepted the payment and nodded at a booth along the wall. "Have a seat somewhere until you can walk straight, Tim. I'll call you a cab when you're ready." Tim nodded and took his snack a few stools down the bar. | |

| Landon was tired of the same old pubs he was used to. They just didn't hold it for him anymore, whatever 'it' was. Some spark of excitement or thrill of new faces; he needed somewhere new. It was for this reason that after another long day staring blankly off at his desk into the unknown he found himself walking through the door into a trendy looking place he heard rumors of being wizard friendly.
As he walked through the door Landon held his breath, as was his habit when entering new locations. It was always in hope that some flash of recognition would spark and he would remember something. It was something he wished he could grow out off and let his missing past stop dictating his actions, but still it persisted.
Of course, nothing came to him besides the usual mesh of faces and voices. Not letting it bother him, Landon made his way over to the bar and took a seat a few spots down from a particularly well dressed man. He looked down at his clothes which were considerably more shabby and wondered if he had mistakenly walked into a bar with a dress code.
Looking back to the bar, Landon smiled at the bartender and asked for a beer.

| "Hey, welcome to Deja Vu, one beer coming right up. 2 pounds or 6 sickles 22 knuts." She smiled at the man with mussed-up hair. | |

| "'ere's three. Save me another fire whiskey, one on the rocks this time if ye' don't mind." McBride looked Tim up and down. If a man got drunk to the point he couldn't stand in Ireland, the rule was he needed to buy a round for everyone in the pub. Whether it was out of shame of them being unable to hold in their liquor or to shame everyone else for not keeping up, it was custom. It was hard not missing the lush fields of down by the ford.
"So I've got to ask. I've been away for quite some time lately. How's the world been lately?"
At this point another man walked in asking for two drinks, Gendan waited to see if he was wizard or muggle as he couldn't quite tell due to his shabby clothes and tussled hair.

| "Firewhiskey on the rocks when you're ready, got it." Mary nodded at the man in the suit as she got the man with the messy hair a beer and put the 3 pounds in the till. | |

| Landon handed over the sickles and knuts, pulling them out of the pocket of his jeans along with random bits of paper before stuffing the remnants back in. He smiled sheepishly as the woman watched him and shrugged, "Who needs a wallet anyway?"
He took a gulp of the beer, letting the bitter dark flavor wash over his tongue and throat. There was not much better than a cold drink after a long day of work. His mind felt better already, less clogged and more open to those around him.
While he enjoyed his drink his gaze fell again upon the man in the suit as he chatted with the bartender. He overheard him ask about the world. What could he mean by that? It was an awfully odd way to refer to the wizarding world, if that was what he was after.

| Upon seeing the man pay with sickles and knuts it was clear which world the other man came from. He watched the man drink his beer and wondered why anyone would drink something so bitter that left a chill in the back of the throat. He swilled the rest of his first fire whiskey in the glass before drinking it and feeling warmth flow down his throat and across the rest of his body. This is what gives you chest hair. | |

| Mary put the sickles and knuts in the till for wizarding money. "Not able to keep up with the Prophet? When were you last getting regular news?" She asked the man in the suit. She didn't figure she'd know much, but she might know a little. And maybe the man with the messy hair could help. | |
