| Walking along an aisle with her tray held steadily in her arms, Alexandra navigated around the library with ease and selected a few choice volumes before tucking them under her arm and walking to thebeavh to do some reading and eating. These were simply advanced spell books that were far more easy to replace than most of the books in their library. | |

| Heading into the library for one last time before she left, Alexandra skimmed all the shelves and grabbed the books that she thought may be vital in the coming weeks. A particular book on Griffins caught her eye and she slipped it into her back-pack before leaving behind the library for god knows how long. | |

| Reading through some classic texts in the library, she sighed happily as she was surrounded with the familiar smell of books. | |

| This seemed to be the most quiet part of her house unsurprisingly. But no, that wasn't quite true. It was the most peaceful, quiet place in the house. There were quieter areas like the Master Bedroom, Music room or the basement, but she couldn't go there. Too many of the times spent with her family and friends haunted the empty mirrors and silent rooms. Family dead and friends lost, there was too much that she was not ready to face yet. Too much, too soon and with no one to help her that really... Understood her? Well, Ouriel did in his own way, but he was not human enough to comprehend her. His life was an eternal stretch of time compared to her own, which would be gone in the blink of an eye. As for her brother, he was comfort but there was a certain element of duty there. Roberto had to sympathize whether he liked it or not, besides, he was out with friends too often and left her alone to the quiet hallways and to her lonely footsteps.
Shoving it to the back of her mind, she immersed herself in books as she did during her lonely moments at Hogwarts. It distracted her from reality and made her feel more fulfilled. Like what she did actually mattered and that what she knew and learnt helped.

Now seating herself by the wall and leaning back against the cold stone, Misery closed her eyes and breathed deeply. She tuned out the rat squeals and empty silence, and drowned in her own mind - drowned in a meditation that was bound to keep her sane. She had little hope in contacting someone properly, and even less hope in tracking a specific mental note. Perhaps some charm was set to prevent her from doing just that?
Nonetheless, Misery tried. And she did found a note, a weak connection, and had to be careful when establishing it. Her thoughts would echo like a poor-connection phone call, and break off constantly - still, it was something. E... a? ... na? Can y... h... ar me?

Something nagged at her mind. Growing in distinction, a sound penetrated the barriers of her mind. It seemed like a familiar voice... Curiosity over-whelming her caution for the moment, Alexandra opened up part of her mental shields enough to hear better what this connection was trying to say. Ouriel would disapprove extremely of this, but it reminded her of someone she trusted and loved. Perhaps it would be something to help comfort her a bit. Her loneliness was taking a toll on her common sense.
The voice was faint in her mind though, but as soon as the words began to string together, a broad grin dawned on her face. It was a very welcomed friend indeed. A- it. W... need to o- ...n shie... more.- Spoiler:
She opened up her shields near completely, leaving only one layer in place in case of sudden attack for some odd reason. But that layer was still flimsy.

Relieved by the break-through, Misery felt a jolt of happiness surge through her. She was almost completely convinced the person on the other side could feel it as well. Misery paused her other searches, focusing only on the one link with her friend. She cleared it out of any possible distortions she herself might have caused, but the connection was still faulty, thanks to her surroundings. Oh! ...was exploring ... camping ...n ... cave. Sorry about ... bad con... ion.

What the connection lacked in audio it seemed make up in emotions and thus, the surge of joy her friend encountered was easily felt by Alexandra but the residing message worried her. The message made her put down her book completely. Why would Misery be in a cave if there was such bad connection though? Or perhaps her friend's travels had brought her under-ground to discover some folk tale in the region. It seemed like something out of a bad novel, but strangely enough, something that Misery was capable of doing with lack of irony. Even so, why would she be contacting Alexandra now of all the times then? Putting down the book made her cough a bit as a bit of dust billowed around the closed pages and tickled her nose. Once her mild irritation cleared, she focused as hard as she could to make her message as clear as possible. ''s a-right. Bu- ..y ar- 'n the cave if it'sss... bad con-ction?'

Of course, Misery expected nothing less from Alexandra. It was a reasonable question, but the vampire had thought about it while waiting for the other's reply. She had her answer prepared. | 'Lonely. Hav'n... seen -ny fr-nds... months.' her reply had a hint of sadness to it. The company of her house-elves was all right, but then again, did it really compensate for a friend's love? They were servants and would be loyal to the end, but she needed equal friendship. '-n you?' Alexandra quickly changed the topic, not wanting to linger on her own emotional state too much although the residing tone in her last sentence still probably stayed in the connection. Even though it was not the best for her, Alexandra was too shy and worried of condemnation of her feelings to expose them. The curse of being 'old for her age'. She was an outsider to everyone in terms of maturity, experience and age. Emotions in creatures is like mass in the universe, impossible to separate no matter how hard someone tried.

| '-nd what?' Alexandra questioned urgently before firing off many more as fast as she could, her mind racing with possibilities as to exactly where Misery was and what situation she was in. Could she help her friend at all? How did this happen? As she tried to rationalize these into one, she slowly and very clearly made out the first sentence not interrupted by distortion or lack of concentration throughout their whole conversation. 'What the hell is going on?' worry, tension and grimness permeated her tone. | |

| Ena, if you see- - Spoiler:
Misery felt herself dropping back into harsh reality, her eyes snapping open to meet the cold walls of the cell surrounding her. Cursing under her breath, she tried sending her final message to Alexandra - but doubted it went through.
If you see Aries, run. Don't look for me. Stay safe.

| Silence and a sudden absence from her mind greeted her. All she had heard was 'Ena, if you see a-' before the connection broke of completely. Alexandra pondered on what Misery would have said if not for the interruption and what the cause of the interruption was exactly. But all she drew was a blank, at least her logical side. Another part of her was extremely paranoid as to the whole thing as she closed her shields and wrapped them tightly around her conciousness. What on earth was going on? This would not be easily distracted with books at all, she gazed at the pile morosely. With a flick of her wand, the books hovered above the table then went back to their shelves. | |
