| The vampire did not need think about it long. She gave a tiny nod, glancing towards his house. "Inside should be fine, given the windows are shaded once the morning comes. The night is growing old and-"
Misery gave a shrug, locking her gaze back on Alexander again. "I can't stand being in the sun any more. Not minutes, let alone hours I had before."

| A chill rolled up and down his spine, as they locked eyes. "Follow me," Alexander finally said taking the lead back toward his home. His eyes kept drifting toward Misery, and what she went through the two years they had a parting of the ways. The explosion on hogwarts third floor, and the mess Luke and Misery caused seemed like distant memories. The good times, you might say. He expect that they would not be going back to those days anytime soon. | |

Having moved past the kitchen, Misery found herself in the backyard. On her way she'd got out her crystal vial and had shaken it absent-mindedly. It had been a while since she last used it, but the vial filled with the red liquid almost instantly, indicating Lance was ready and waiting. As his blood touched her lips, washing away all the foreign blood she had been tasting, Misery felt oddly homesick.
Outside, she moved on towards the forest, settling beneath the trees to enjoy the sounds, the smells, the very feel of nature. Warm blood having settled in her tummy, Misery again felt a part of her old self; a bubbling, unexplained urge to do something mischievous. Running a hand through her hair, she found it thicker and, maybe, less white, more like its natural colour. She inspected the skin on her arms, found it was still pale, but less sickly pale and more pleasantly so, like a vampire ought to look. She wouldn't get ahead of herself; this could have been just a slight improvement before getting worse, though Misery hoped that instead of that, it was the first step to her recovery.
Baby steps. Just like Sorrow had said.
