Kitchen

"Many reasons.." She said vaguely as she set his cup down at the table and then sat down across from him with her own tea, "I'm afraid I have no sweeteners of any sort." She said quietly before continuing the conversation, "Trying to repair what little good reputation I have, Trying to..." But she couldn't mention the Order, that was secret. But the only cover she could think of was, "trying to mend my relationship with my father, and trying to get my job back." They were all honest truths, but they weren't entirely the strongest reason for her scrambled thoughts. The Order left little room for free time, and there were too many things going on in the Order that reminded her of her past mistakes. Mistakes she was trying to make up for.

"It's alright, I never use any anyways," and he put the steaming cup down on the table, intending to let it cool down a bit, "That makes sense, all of those things would scramble my thoughts aswell" Corbin said

She gave a curt nod as she ran her finger across the rim of her cup. She was unable to think of another conversation starter as she became lost in the dark liquid in her cup, the steam swirling up from it calmed her, but the exhausted look on her face made her seem old, but it was more of the stress that was getting to her than natural causes.

Corbin took a sip of his tea and opened his mouth and closed it a few times,
"Wow that's hot... It's good though, really good" He said, laughing and sucking in cold air

Madison smiled and laughed a little, "Glad you like it." She then repeated her previous questions,"So then, have you any interests in the work field or no?"

"As of now... No, I haven't really looked around much, or at all really, so I don't know what's available right now" Corbin said, sighing

"Well I'm sure you'll find something eventually." She said with a smile as she took a sip of her tea.

"Yeah I imagine I will.... I don't know if I want to start looking right away though" Corbin said, thinking

"Why not? In need of a vacation?"

"Naw I was pretty much on vacation for the last year and a bit. I'm just not sure if I WANT to get another job right away"

"Ah. I'm quite the opposite I think. If I don't have any work on my plate, I'll simply drive myself to insanity, as I always seem to become quite the hermit when I don't have enough to do." She smiled again.

Corbin smiled aswell
"Yeah, I was never one for doing a whole lot of work, I would rather relax" He said truthfully

"I guess we're on opposite ends then." She glanced towards the window for a moment, then looked to Corbin, offering eye contact for the first time this evening.

Corbin looked up from his tea and met eyes with Madison, smiling a bit
"Yeah, looks to be that way" he said

For a moment, Madison couldn't tear aware her gaze as he looked into her eyes, but after a moment, she quickly looked back down at her tea. This feeling was beyond Madison's comprehension; the feeling like she needed to make him as content as possible here, no matter what he required. But when had Madison ever cared about the feelings of those around her? Was this strange feeling from the same cause as the muggles women back at the mall? Madison found it too dangerous to look up at this man, so she took another sip of her tea and started playing with her hair a bit. It was a habit she had acquired just recently. She found just one gray hair one unfortunate morning and now she couldn't stop checking for more. It wasn't her fault she didn't want to be old.

Corbin smirked a little and took another sip of his tea, leaving not much left
"So do you plan on going back and teaching at Hogwarts?" He asked

"Of course. The moment Eirina will take me back is the moment I return to Hogwarts." She said more quietly, like she was on edge.

(lol again, STRESS xD Maddy doesn't have as much stress as Michelle, but she sure is close ^_^)

"Why don't you go talk to her then?" He asked, it seemed simple to him, but he wasn't in Maddy's position at the time

"I'm currently working on a way to redeem myself. I shall speak with the Headmistress when the time is right. Not now though." She wasn't sure whether he was aware of the strange feeling he was stirring up, so she wouldn't approach him on the matter. She was afraid she was worrying for nothing. Madison was talented when it came to connecting the dots, but no puzzle could be solved if some pieces were missing.

"Makes sense... How do you plan on redeeming yourself?" Corbin asked

"Helping the authorities do their job." She said, once again, being as vague as possible. This was more Order business, so again, she couldn't go into detail.

"Ah, I see" Corbin said, nodding and finishing off the last of his tea

Madison smiled politely.

Corbin sighed
"Well thanks for the tea, Madison, but I should probably get going" He said, looking back at her

"Alright, thank you for the company. Shall I lead you to the door?" She offered as she stood up and looked at him.
