| Claudia sat down at a table and placed the textbook down on the table. She pulled out her quill, ink, and a piece of parchment. She turned to page 6 and 7. She wrote at the top of the parchment, "Charms Homework(Pages 6 and 7): Definitions for Chapter 1:
She usually got right into homework and got it done so she didn't have to worry about it later but she was having a hard time focusing on the book pages. All she wanted to do was finish reading her book but she knew she had to get this work done. If she didn't do it now it would never get done.

| Timothy found Claudia Evans in the library, staring at the Charms textbook. "Hey, your name's Evans, right?" He asked walking up to her. "Mind if I sit with you?" She didn't hardly have anything written on her parchment. Was she stuck? | |

| Claudia looked up at Timothy. She knew his name only from when the Headmistress said it. "Oh, hey yea Claudia Evans, thats me." She laughed. "Sure you can sit here i don't mind." She looked back down at the textbook. She didn't know why she couldn't concentrate. She sighed. It was going to be a long afternoon. | |

| "Let me know if you need a hand, maybe we can help each other." Timothy smiled as he sat across from her, pulling out the textbook, his parchment, quill, and ink. He opened to pages 6 and 7 and the eye stamp was there. Weird. Couldn't Naer have chosen something less creepy? He frowned and got to work. - Spoiler:
Transfiguration My definition- physically changing one object into another, or creating or destroying an object. Textbook definition- changing of the form and appearance of an object and the vanishing and conjuration of objects.

| Claudia began writing the definition for charm. She didn't understand why she was having a hard time with it. It was only copying definitions for a book and reviewing spells anyway. What was so hard about that. She looked over at Timothy. "I will be sure to do that. Thanks." Claudia had only just noticed the eye that went from page to page. Talk about creepy but you have to do what you have to do to not lose textbooks. | |

| Timothy glanced at Claudia while working, but he couldn't tell much. His glances were quick, only enough to pick up the barest hints of body language, and her hands were occupied with their homework. His view of her feet was blocked by the table. The best he had to go on was listening to how often her quill scratched across the parchment. It was frustrating. - Spoiler:
Negative Magic My definition- intended to harm. Textbook definition- causes harm or destruction.

| Claudia wrote each word neatly. She felt her hair fall in her face and put it carefully behind her ear. Definitions were boring but she knew it had to get done. "Hey timothy, what word are you on." She said without looking up at him. She was glad that she had someone there to help her out. | |

| She tucked her hair behind her ear, an anxiety behaviour? A non-shielding behaviour? Or just to not have her hair in her way? So frustrating. "Er, curse. I got a few done in class. D'you know if we're supposed to just be copying down the definition or what?" It was annoying, having to try to define a word he innately knew, then copy down the correct definition. - Spoiler:
Curse My definition- more powerful negative magic. Textbook definition- negative magic used with intent to cause harm, control, or terror.

| "I'm copying the definition and just adding extra info i know thats it but i think you only have to copy the definition." She bit her lip. It was a habit she had that she hadn't yet broken. She was tired of writing but she had no choice. She had writtent he definition for charm, countercharm, bewitched, protective spell, and she now was on Transfiguration. She just hoped she would be done soon. | |

| Timothy sighed. He was doing it wrong, but he was almost done. He glanced at Claudia and she was biting her lip. What did she have to be anxious about? Getting her homework wrong? "You seem nervous." He noted, moving on to Hex. Why did they have 3 different words for basically the same thing? - Spoiler:
Hex My definition- less powerful negative magic. Textbook definition- less powerful than a curse, more powerful than a jinx.

| She didn't let her eyes leave the paper. She lightly blushed. She didn't like when people noticed when something was up with her. It made her feel embarassed. "I've just had a lot on my mind lately." She hated being a teenager. So many feelings and emotions. They were driving her crazy. She knew that she needed to focus on her schoolwork and not her emotions but it was difficult at times. She looked down at the page and saw that she still had 3 more words after she finished Negative Magic and about 13 spells to review. It was going to be a long night. | |

| "Mmm." Timothy nodded. She wasn't looking at him, didn't seem to want to talk about it. He finished the definitions and rolled up his parchment to give to Naer. - Spoiler:
Jinx My definition- least powerful negative magic. Textbook definition- used mostly for defense or amusement. Were they supposed to practice the spells? But Naer had only given that one Ravenclaw boy a permission note.

| She looked up to see Him rolling up his parchment probably finished. She had just finished Hex and was moving on to Jinx. "Are you going to review the spells?" She was glad she was almost done with the definitions she just hoped there wouldn't be a lot of definitions in future homework assignments. | |

| "Er, I don't know if we're supposed to practice them or just read about them. Naer gave that Ravenclaw boy a piece of parchment saying he could practice spells outside class. I don't know if we need one of those or not, and I'd rather not lose my Head Boy status over something like that so early in the year." Timothy rubbed the back of his neck. Why hadn't he remembered to ask Naer? | |

| "Ok I understand." She was glad he wasn't one to break the rules. She knew too many of those kinds of people and it was different to know someone who didn't break the rules on a regular basis or at all for that matter. "If you want we could just review them by writing definitions for them but we don't have to if you don't want to." | |

| "Yeah, I guess that's our only choice." He sighed. He took a moment to stand and stretch before falling back into the chair and getting his things out again. "Argh." He muttered, flipping the textbook back open. - Spoiler:

| She knew that they were going to sit there for a while so she decided to get straight to work on her definitions. She knew that after this she was going straight to bed because she had a long day ahead of her tomorrow and she did not to get a bad start on it with no sleep. | |

| "I wonder why Naer only gave him a permission slip..." Timothy mumbled. Bloody hell there were a lot of spells to define. He glanced at Claudia, but she was giving multiple indicators of being a serious student. He hadn't once caught her glancing up at him. - Spoiler:

| She giggled at how he mumbled she found it amusing but not of the situation. "Yea I know but I guess it doesn't really matter although i really wanted to do magic." She looked up to see his expression. She didn't know if he was upset or just saying things he thought. | |

| Claudia giggled and said she wanted to do magic. He glanced up at her and found her looking at him. He smiled. "It's just odd is all. I doubt Naer forgot to give the class permission, so why did he? Maybe he needs extra practice or something..." Timothy trailed off at the end. - Spoiler:
