(7/18)Quidditch Match: Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw

For those of you who ARE participating in quidditch, please post at least two sentences of your character in the "dug out" as soon as you read this, just so that I am aware of who all is playing and if I will be needing subs.

Gryffindor has a full team, with one person taking every position. Ravenclaw does not have a full team, so I'll be going over that with specific individuals.



The Map:
1. The map above is where you will start out. K for Keeper, S for Seeker, B for Beater, C1 for the first Chaser and C2 for the second Chaser.
2. Some matches will only have one Chaser, not two. You will automatically be positioned where C1 is. You will disregard C2.
3. The three black circles at each end are the goals. Between Lines 0 and 1 is where the Keeper can safely move about and where it is illegal for Beaters and Chasers to enter.
4. The purple lines are used for indication, explained in Rules of Posting.

Rules of Posting:
1. Before you can post a second time, you must wait for AT LEAST TWO people of the opposing team to post. This will prevent one person posting every other time and controlling the game.
2. The purple lines are used for indication. Everytime that you post, your character can only move ONE purple line forwards or backwards. This is to prevent, just as an example, the keeper on one end of the quidditch pitch to fly all the way to the other end of the pitch and make a goal in one post, because that's not fair and doesn't give others a chance to stop them. Using the map above, a Beater in their first post can either move to line 2 or line 3, however they cannot move to line 1.
3. When a chaser gets to the purple Line 1, they can shoot. In order to determine if the Keeper saves the ball or not, they will have to roll a die. Keeper will be individually messaged in regards to how this is done. The options on the dice will be 30 Points, 20 Points, 10 Points, and Save (0 Points).
4. I will be playing the bludgers and snitch.
5. In order to figure out which Chaser gets the Quaffle when the ref throws it up, I'll roll a 50/50 dice that will name which chaser gets the ball first.

Point System:
1. The three circles at each end of the Quidditch Pitch represent the rings. The smallest ring, 1, is 10 House Points. The biggest ring, 3, is 30 House Points. The medium ring, 2, is 20 Hours Points.
2. Seekers will be able to catch the snitch. Once the snitch it caught, the team who caught the snitch will earn 150 house points and the game will end.

If this game goes really well, many of the rules will not be needed and will be discarded. The reason that there are so many rules is to be sure that everyone understands how to be fair and how to not godmod. Usually things go well after the first game, and the rules are no longer needed.

Alyssa waited impatiently for the match to start. She had pulled on her robes long ago and grabbed a pair of gloves that would help her with her flying. She debated whether she should've chosen an easier position that was less vital to the game, but decided that all were equally important. However, maybe she should've been a Chaser. Alyssa was horrible at flying though, she that would've been hard. Beater, possibly? Her aim was more accurate that her flying skills. She knew being Seeker had been a bad, bad idea.

Later, when the match was right about to start, she hovered above the rest of the players and behind where the Beater was supposed to be. SHe couldn't wait, even though they would probably lose. The other two members of the team weren't bad at all and had good flying skills, but she might drag everyone down. Her only job was to get the Golden Snitch and avoid being hit by Bludgers, while maybe preventing Emma from catching the Snitch as well. That didn't seem too hard...

Jessie Swan sat impatiently hoping the team would do good. As she knew her mom would her about the game. And wanted her to be proud. Alexandra Brazell and Alyssa Willows would hopefully be there to help them win.

Timothy pulled his Slytherin scarf closer around his ears. It was supposed to be chilly today, but the threat of rain made it feel colder. He could tell from the other students around him that they were impatient for the match to begin. And cold. Some idle chatter, rubbing of hands, stomping of feet... Much moving of feet, a telltale sign of wanting to move, or wanting things to get moving, get started. The stomping could be attributed to the weather, but swinging of feet was an impatience movement. He idly supposed he ought to cheer for Ravenclaw, but he honestly couldn't care less about Quidditch. He only came to the matches to watch the audience.

Claudia was nervous for the Qudditch match. She hoped that they would do well but she felt like she would mess up but all in due time she would see.

Alex's legs were bouncing as she sat. She was nervous. She didn't want any of her team members to blame her if she did something wrong... why had she signed up for this?

(I haven't been paying attention to my calendar xD)

The typical giddy and hyper Gryffindor that Emma normally was, had completely left the building for today. Now, she made her way to the Gryffindor's dug out, her trusty broom at her side as she sat next to Claudia. She stared out across from them, where the Ravenclaw team where at, and then looked up at the sky.

"Ready?" She asked Claudia, as she gave her a small smile.

She gave her a determined yet nervous smile. "I'm as ready as i'll ever be."

(I'll be replacing Kimbree as Gryffindor Chaser for this game since she is on vacation)

Mason was upbeat, super pumped. He loved the way his heart raced and his stomach churned as he listened to the crowds cheer. Bouncing from heels to toes he grinned over at his teammates who were looking a little nervous. "You guys this is going to be so sweet! We got this game covered."

(I'll be playing as the Ravenclaw Keeper, as well as the bludger and snitch. And yes, people can join and be in the crowd to watch!!)

The referee came out into the middle of the Quidditch pitch and called out the teams to take their places. GRYFFINDOR will be the HOME team for tonight and RAVENCLAW will be the AWAY team.

The ref then went over the rules, and opened the box to let out the snitch and bludgers and after blowing the whistle, threw up the quaffle that went to...



(now, I'm going to click on the roll dice. After I post this, there should be another post under my name that appears and will "doll the dice" and say if the HOME (Gryffindor) or the AWAY (Ravenclaw) chaser gets the quaffle first. It's a 50/50 chance. The chaser who gets the quaffle, according to the dice roll in the next post, will then post and say that they made it to the quaffle before the opposing chaser did and the games will begin!

When it comes to chasers making goals, remember that the KEEPER will roll a die, which will then post after them under my username and say whether the Keeper saves the ball, the Chaser misses their throw, or the Chaser got 10, 20, or 30 points. The current keeps already know how to roll a die, but I though that I'd prepare you for what you'll be seeing)

Mason was eagerly waiting on his broom, watching the ref release the snitch and bludgers. His heart was beating too fast, his eyes gleaming in the sun. He was ready for this. Today was his day, the best day of the year so far.

As the ref threw the quaffle into the air Mason shot forward, sliding right by the Ravenclaw chaser and grabbing hold of the ball. It felt warm in his hands, a perfect fit. He made a quick sweep of the field, checking his teammates positions, and sped off toward the opposing goals.

Claudia wanted her team to play well. The seekers were off seeking trying to get the snitch. But it would be tougher for them if they had a distraction to deal with, right? A bludger sized distraction, for example. Claudia flew off after a nearby bludger, and hit it towards the other team’s seeker/team mates with her bat.

"Yeah!" Emma jeered loudly from her view up high. Once the quaffle had been thrown, she watched Mason grab and go and rose herself up higher just as she expected the other Seeker to do the same. She flew towards the center pitch, where she would be most effective should the Snitch appear. Now all she could do was wait, and watch.

Emma's moved from starting position to line 3 as well :P

i fell off my broom practiceing so i couldnt make it.

Alex was bummed about Jessie not being able to play, and bit her lip nervously. She was terrible on a broomstick - she didn't know why she had agreed to be part of the team. She shot off after Mason.

The Ravenclaw keeper swayed back and fourth, watching the Gryffindor Chaser closely. Now way was he going to get anything by him.

The snitch floated around the heads of the students who were watching the game, top of line 2 of the red (Gryffindor) side of the pitch.

The bludger made its way fast toward the Gryffindor Chaser (Mason) as it moved vertically up and down very quickly, opposed to making a straight shot on line 3.

Mason was focusing on the Ravenclaw keeper, flying straight towards him, no tricks or deviations on his part. He saw the bludger getting closer to him but ignored it. He had faith his beater teammate would get rid of it for him.

Claudia noticed the bludger moving very fast towards Mason. She darted after it trying to hit it towards a Ravenclaw player.

(I'm sorry, I forgot to note that the snitch and the bludgers are the only exception to the 2 post rule, just because they're moving objects that need to be posted as more often, due to actions like chasing/running away and being hit by players. MY POSTS AS THE SNITCH AND BLUDGER DO NOT COUNT AS TWO POSTS FROM THE OPPOSING TEAM. Since I am currently, however, also playing as Ravenclaw Keeper, when I post as him that DOES count as ONE of the TWO posts from the opposite team. Sorry to confuse!)
