He was babbling again, Theo heard while watching her potion for bubbles. She tapped her fingers against the desk, gaze flashing to the Gryffindor to see if she can give the answer (Theo could give six or seven other names for the queen of poisons) and to the Ravenclaw immediately after. She smiled at that one, recalling Muffle’s stories. Her mom had been muggleborn and she brought Theo up on plenty of muggle fairytales. Somewhere among those there was Odysseus, who had used Moly to help resist a witch’s dark magic.* That said, Theo hadn’t needed Herbology to learn that Moly was best used as protection against dark enchantments.
Her potion boiled and she made a swift motion to turn off the heat. Draught of Living Death? “A single leaf should be placed into the potion,” she said quickly. Lucky that her potion did not demand much attention at that moment, or Theo would not have heard any of the questions, perhaps even failed to answer hers. She lifted the mortar and angled it above her cauldron to let the mixture fall in. “If it disintegrates, it means the potion’s well made.” Theo, she was the one who usually lost points, not gained them. Exception was Potions where she got all the points she would ever earn.
She checked the mixture that had settled at the bottom of her cauldron, then dipped in her wooden ladle and started stirring. She got through seven counter clockwise turns when she paused to add half a teaspoon of sneezewort. One more turn and the other half got in too. Clockwise stirring took seven turns as well, a pause before the eighth that drew nice and smooth.
She dug through her bag in search for her wand, pushing aside charm-protected vials and several small containers that held either powders or pastes. When she finally pulled the stick out, she found Quentin’s slime all over it and had to walk herself to the sink to wash it off. Nothing exciting happened in the seconds it took her to dry it off and then finally touch the surface of the draught with the tip of the wand.
The ten minutes gave her plenty time to prepare the rest of her ingredients. Theo put aside two equal lovage leaves, then shuffled through others in search for the third. She picked out two valerian springs, cut both in halves and added a third half so she had two and a half. All in halves. She packed away the rest and reached for the glass jar, extracting two juniper berries.
(*this is not a fairytale of course, but in the jumble of Muffles' stories, it is how Theo would remember it. plus Circe was also a goddess, but gosh details xD)

| Ella had arrived like frigid air in the night, shockingly, silently, and always smiling contently. She had previously made her way through the long halls, taking her time to reach her Potions class. Ella wasn't usually the sort to be late, though today she simply had many other things to do, and many things that impaled her mind as though it were a blackened spike. She had plans to talk to Professor Brown individually, in order to explain her tardiness and ask if he were okay with her staying afterward to make up what she had missed, though upon opening the door she couldn't help a slightly surprised look.
"Hello, Professor, I apologize for my tardiness."
She hadn't known that there would be another to fill in for her Professor, though she didn't wish to be rude. If anything, she was sure that the new professor would be offended, with every right, if she were to question his presence. It was no way to make someone feel welcome, and Ella had no intention of being so rude.
"I found myself drowning in quandaries this morning, if you'd like I'd be happy to speak with you after class to further explain?"
As she spoke, Ella drifted her way across the classroom, sitting on the opposite side of the classroom from Jett, though having not realized his presence. Ella had watched the back of students heads as she made her way over, not being able to see their faces. Only their wispy hair and the color of their robes had stood out to her, though Ella never judged a person for their house nor their appearance. It was wrong, and it only hurt people. She knew that if she were to hurt people, they'd surely hurt her back, and that was never a pattern to end well.
The chairs were a few years old, and a bit creaky, but Ella knew this well enough. She slightly lifted her chair as she pulled it out, in order to be as quiet and undisturbing as she could. Carefully, she sat herself down, her legs curled up under her her as she sat, just like a bird, with her elbows on the table and her head peeking out. Her robes fell softly over her skin, moving as she moved, and her skirts curved perfectly with her legs so as to now display anything that she hadn't wished to be seen. Her hair had been caged on top of her head, a casual bun trapping her hair into place.

| Irene watched, fascinated as a girl her age leisurely glided into the room soundlessly, like a ghost or wraith. She whispered something to the teacher that Irene didn't catch, and then walked slowly to the right side of the room, across from that Ravenclaw boy. She wondered if the other girl knew him. Probably, it seemed everyone knew each other here. The girl was smiling and carried herself with a presence that seemed to still life around her. Irene watched as the girl looked at the students in front of her and then turned away after staring for a few seconds. Obviously she knew this classroom very well, as she held the chair just so while she sat down, so it didn't creak like Irene's had. The girl who was late seemed graceful and peaceful, and she looked perfectly at ease. Irene decided to introduce herself to the girl.
"Hi, my name is Irene. I'm a fifth year Gryffindor." Irene smiled hesitantly at the girl. She didn't strike Irene as the judgmental type either, but she wanted to let the girl know in case she was wondering. "Today we're making the Befuddlement Draught, which confuses people I would assume. The professor wrote the instructions of the board," she said, trying her best to be helpful but not condescending. After all, the girl was probably better at Potions than Irene herself.

| Claudia noticed a Ravenclaw girl from her year walk in. She came in awefully late. She never remembered meeting her offically. She would have to introduce herself properly after classes were over. She continued on with her Potion. She picked up a slotted spoon and scooped up what is left of the Valeriana Officinalis and Juniperus Berries and discarded them. She was glad that she was almost done with her Potion. She had put so much into prefecting it that she hoped the work would pay off in the long run. She tapped her wand against the surface of the Befuddlement Drought. She was relieved that she was finally done.

| Now that the water was starting to boil, Emma had to figure out which ingredients were which- she just sort of grabbed a handful of each type of icky gooey, or dry plant thing. Set on the fact that she would fail, Emma eventually just went with an eenie meanie minie moe method and stuck a handful of things into the pot. She was working a lot slower than the other students, despite her carelessness. Her anxiety was making her mess up and fall behind. | |

| It was said that Austen was too easy for his own good, said no one. He gave them freebees in order for them to get familiar with the name of the game, but they were just getting started. But before he could rattle on about tough questions, he saw a bloom of milky white smoke coming from Claude’s cauldron, and not a snow white smoke. “Claude,” he said watching the smoke dissipate into nothingness, but before he could finish the statement she added her next ingredient(s). “You did not let it stand long enough. Your potion will still work but won’t be as effective.” To be honest she was going at a speed far faster than the other students. It was not a race to beat the clock. Potions like cooking took untold amount of time to perfect, not haphazard through everything in the pot and it’s done.
To improve his attentiveness for success in his double potion period, he walked around observing each potion, and where they were at in their Befuddlement Drought. Irene was first. He stood over her cauldron looking at the sneeze wart sinks to the bottom. “How much Sneeze Wart did you used?” he asked seeing flecks of Sneeze Wart not dissolved in the drought like it suppose too. “Before bottling it, strain your potion with a sieve.”
He was about to check Jett when in walked an overly robust character sauntered in like he own the place, putting is feet up where ever he pleased. “Blaze,” Austen said knowing his name with dealings with his family. He did not confront the boy just yet, seeing as he allowed Ilene to show up late, he would overlook this blatant truancy. Once again he tried to turn back his attention to Jett’s potion when the door opened again, but this time much more quietly than when Blaze came in.
In walked a self-reassured Ravenclaw, who talked way beyond her years. At a glance most of the students were allured by her charming disposition as she elegantly descended to the opposite side of the room. “Carry on,” he told the class turning to address Jett’s potion for a third time, but that was impossible, his attention was diverted back to Blaze.

| A door slammed, jarring Jett from his intense concentration. He was in the middle of adding the three Levisticum Offcinale leaves to his potion and he didn't dare look away. He didn't think that he could mess up this simple act but he had found out the hard way that averting his eyes from his potion could mean disaster for any number of reasons. White smoke hissed into being as the leaves hit the liquid inside. It's silken white tendrils wafted into the air, forming patterns that entranced Jett. They were beautiful the way they twisted and rose. Soon the smoke cleared , much to his disappointment, and he added two pieces of Valeriana Officinalis and two blue juniper berries.
At this point Jett knew he had nearly five minutes until it was time to move on to the next step. He let his gaze shift from the potion to the others in the room, aiming to find out who had slammed the door. He spotted a Slytherin boy with a smug look on his face, his boots up on the desk. Jett looked away, disgusted. He was glad he had convinced the sorting hat to send him to Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin.
As he was about to return his eyes to the cauldron a slight movement across the room caught his attention. There, sitting as delicately as a dove, was Ella. Jett's mind began to fuzz, his face spreading into a delighted grin. She was sitting facing away, not having noticed him. Her hair was up today, held into place atop her head. Jett wanted to take the few steps to stand behind her, carefully let her hair loose. He remembered the way it had been warm in his hands, the way it shone in the morning sun. Ella was exuding grace and beauty and Jett's longing for her grew stronger. He couldn't tear his eyes away as she folded her legs beneath her and he could almost hear her sweet musical words as she spoke to another student.

| She knew it wasn't going to be perfect but atleast it would be decent. She just wished they could make a potion she had already familiarized herself with. It would have been a lot easier on her to take her time with it. She put the Drought into a vial/bottle and sealed it. She walked up to Austen's desk. She didn't think she could ever get used to that. She handed him the vial/bottle and walked back to her seat. As much as she wanted to leave she couldn't. for 1.) she didn't want to walk back to the towers or leave alone and 2.) She could always help or whatever. She began cleaning up her mess. When she was finally finished she decided to take out a piece of Parchment and write herself a summary of the potion for reference later. Never hurt anyone to take notes. | |

| A girl had turned to Ella, dressed in the Gryffindor cloaks that were required of all the students. She looked like a girl with a large heart full of only the beautiful lights that glowed over dark cities. And she was pretty, too. Her hair was long and a soft, golden blonde. She was beautiful even in the cloaks that weren't made to suit everyone, and had made her beauty look so easy and natural, though surely it was not so easy to come by or attain. The girl had opened herself up to Ella as she spoke smoothly and with a smile that had yet to blossom. All that Ella could do was return her smile with one of her own, blossoming as the orange trees do in their determined vibrance.
"Hello, Irene, it's nice to meet you. I'm a Ravenclaw, and am in my 5th year as well, so I'm sure that we'll see each other in many classes!"
It was nice to be able to talk to someone in her classes, as Ella was always delighted to make new friends. There was a bit of good in everyone, all that you had to do was simply bring it out. Not too many people understood that when Ella would describe it, saying that everyone has a bit of sugar and spice in them, it just mattered on what other ingredients you put in that determined what came out. But that's how people were, and that was how Ella was able to make friends with people, no matter the house, no matter the appearance, and of course no matter the exterior personality that they put out there.
"Thank you for your help, that's really nice of you. I'll be sure to repay you for being so generous, you deserve at least that after all. Irene, are you up to anything after class?"
Ella's gaze never broke from Irene's, as she found it rude to not pay attention to the one who you were speaking to. You should want them to feel that they are worth your time, because they are, and that's what they deserve. That's what all people deserve. Ella's gaze was not piercing, nor uneasy as she looked at Irene, but gently, like the long grasses tickling your toes. Irene had given off a very positive vibe, that Ella felt was that of a good person with a strong heart, and she had wanted to get to know Irene better, outside of silly classes. She had wanted to make a friend that goes beyond the thick classroom walls.

| Blaze continued to sit in his sit, feet up on the desk and his hands behind his head now. His eyes were closed, and it looked like he was just taking a nap. He didn’t bring any supplies with him, no cauldron, no nothing. He didn’t care. He didn’t care about school, or this class, or anything. Blaze was living off of his parents reputation, after all, so why should he give a shit?
The professor calling his name, and at hearing it Blaze opened one eye. He only now realized that it wasn’t Professor Brown. Good riddance. But now this prick was already calling him by his name, and Blaze wasn’t having any of it.
“Go on, dude, do your job. Teach me something.” Blaze was loud, assertive, and clearly not caring. Blaze was always blatantly rude, “Not that this class is even worth my damn time.”

| Okaaaaay... The obviously Slytherin boy who'd just entered the room was coarsely telling the teacher that he didn't care at all about Potions and wanted the professor to do all his work for him. Irene wondered how the professor would react, she knew what she would've done. She would've set him on fire and waited, taking notes on how long it took him to break the spell, as it would be charmed to resist normal fire extinguishing spells and water spells. The boy looked completely relaxed, and she could tell he was absolutely bored and was only here for probably one reason; he needed to pass sixth or seventh year. A teacher had probably yelled at him for a while and then told him to go to all his classes or else. Whatever, it wasn't Irene's problem, She turned away from the situation and went back to her draught, which was coming along quite nicely so far. Or at least, she hadn't messed up too badly so far. Unfortunately for Irene, this was about change. Irene read the next few lines of instructions off the board. She didn't exactly have a good memory.
6. Take three all equal size pieces of the Levisticum Offcinale leaves and toss them in the cauldron. White smoke should appear once the leaves hit the surface of the Drought denigrating them in minutes. If black smoke appears the potion is useless. Start Over. 7. Once the smoke clears add two sprigs of Valeriana Officinalis and Juniperus (blue) Berries to the cauldron. Leave them for five minutes, or until the berries turn white, and the potion turns a a clear but green tint. 8. Use a slotted spoon and scoop up what is left of the Valeriana Officinalis and Juniperus Berries and discard them. 9. Tap wand against the surface of the Befuddlement Drought. The Drought is ready to be tested. Any Volunteers?
Irene checked her potion. It was a dull yellow color, so she figured it was fine to move on to the next step. She had brought all the necessary ingredients to class that day, but she had also brought a few extras that she didn't need. These included two other types of berries and some rosemary. Irene ended up adding three sprigs of rosemary accidentally, as she wasn't quite certain what Valeriana Officinalis looked like. Next, she attempted to add the Juniper berries, but ended up adding berries from a Virginia Creeper instead, which was poisonous. She left them for seven minutes and got caught up in making the fire underneath flare, and the berries turned almost transparent, far beyond what they had been supposed to look like. She knew something was wrong and quickly snatched the berries out of the cauldron, ignoring the still boiling water. Irene had built up a resistance to heat and with a simple charm that she used during Potions class where she was handling hot things, her hands were fine. She peered into her cauldron. It didn't look too bad to her; the potion had a pale green tint like it was supposed to, even though there was an orange glow to it for some reason. Irene assumed that it was because the potion was successful, and tapped her wand against the surface of the drought. She created a burning blaze underneath the cauldron to burn out anything that might be left, then put it out with a wave of her wand and collected a sample in a magical vial. She corked it and waved her hand through the thick smoke rising from her cauldron, and then finished cleaning it. She set the vial containing her portion of the Bewilderment Draught on her desk and looked around, checking on how the other students were doing. Irene would give it to the teacher later, after she saw how everyone else was.
The Ravenclaw boy seemed to have messed up on the fifth or sixth line...the other Gryffindors weren't doing too bad, although one of the other fifth years, not Claudia, seemed to be wincing a lot. That definitely wasn't good, but there wasn't much Irene could do about it. The professor might take away points. Maybe she would ask him if she could help the other students since she was done. ANother girl, Claudia, was done, and she was just writing down something probably about the potion on some parchment. Irene decided to go up to the professor and ask a few questions about today's lesson.

| (I want all of you to finish in the next post. Bottle your potions, leave it on the teacher’s desk but stay where you are seated. I have few more words before end of class.)
The daze look on Jett’s face, the lingering eyes upon the other Ravenclaw girl, it seemed he forgot all about the potion that was brewing. “Jett focus! Leaving in the Valeriana Officinalis and the Juniper Berries for too long causes adverse effects of drowsiness and excessive-.” Blaze had different plans than to learn something about the properties of the Befuddlement Drought, and that is why he cut Austen off.
He could have taken Irene’s route, did a little hocus pocus and turn him into a toad to teach Blaze a lessons, but there were easier methods of putting students into their place, public humiliation. Austen gave Blaze the smug smile that Blaze was happy to return. “Okay class,” he said returning to the front, only taking a slight glace at the now sizzling stockroom door. It seemed his flame retardant charm was failing, but he did not worry about that now. Now all his attention was focus on Blaze, the trouble maker so far. “Blaze here wants me to teach him something. Okay, fair enough. I am after all the professor. Fun Fact: Pure Blooded families interbreed with each other to keep their ‘purity’ going, causing under development in their brains and their stature.”

| Irene barely glanced at the burning storeroom. SHe would've cast another spell on it, as it seemed the professor's strong spells were definitely not fire-resistant ones, but she decided not to push her luck and do more spells without permission. It was getting really annoying right now though, so she decided to go ahead and just do it. She waved her wand lazily and din't stop to look, not really caring completely whether it had succeeded or not. It was an odd little spell that she'd created herself that could stop bewitched fire and might be able to break through some wards. They'd have to be kind of weak, though.
Irene snapped her fingers and her vial floated into the air. She concentrated; she didn't want it to stop in midair and go crashing to the ground, she'd spent a lot of time and effort on that tiny vial, even if the contents weren't exactly perfect. She could only hope they'd be enough to satisfy the professor, so he'd give her at least an A. She was hoping for an E though, but she all too well knew there was absolutely no chance she would receive an O. Irene yawned and started to doodle on her desk with her wand. It wouldn't leave a mark, but while it lasted it was pretty. She noticed that someone had carved a careful A into the professor's desk and wondered what kind of professor carved his initials into a desk that didn't even belong to him.

| Jett's mind was snapped back into focus by Austen's voice in his ear. What had he been doing? He shook his head to clear away the mist that had taken over and turned to face the professor. "Sorry, Professor," he mumbled before taking one more quick glace at Ella. She was still talking to another girl and this time Jett was able to took away. He couldn't believe he had let himself get entrapped in her beauty; this was not the time nor the place. Banishing such thoughts to the back of his mind for the time being Jett returned to his potion.
He listened with half an ear as Austen prattled off some nonsense about pure blood families. Jett was never certain where he stood in others thoughts of blood status. His father was a pure blood and his mother was a magical creature, so technically his blood was pure, but he had a feeling many wizards didn't see it that way. Not that he care one way or the other. He saw no difference of status in anyone's blood. Still, better to err on the side of avoidance of the subject with the rude Slytherin.
His little day dreams had cost him an extra minute of simmering. Hopefully it hadn't ruined his potion. Jett would have been furious with himself if he had made such a serious mistake. The liquid in his cauldron was more of a solid green than a tint but the berries were still translucent so he must not have made too grievous of an error. Quickly removing the berries and plants Jett touched his wand to the surface of the potion. He filled a small vial and topped it before walking to Austen's desk to drop it off.
On his way back to his seat Jett looked over to Ella, catching her eye as she worked. He gave her a wondrous smile, a light sparkling in his eyes. That was enough for now, he didn't dare interrupt her. As he took his seat next to Claudia he motioned toward their empty cauldrons. "That was quite intense. You looked like you had it covered well though, I bet your potion is nearly perfect."

| Claudia looked up from her parchment when she heard Jett speaking to her. "Yea it was intense. I doubt my Potion is anywhere perfect though. Yours would be closer to perfect than mine." She smiled. She liked giving people compliments. It made her feel good.
"Do you enjoy Potions?" She wanted to learn a little more about Jett while she had the time because she doubted she would see him anytime soon after class.

| (Note: Don't follow how Ella is currently making her potion, for it is wrong if you look to gain any house points from your character. ALB and I have already agreed that she's simply there as another figure, not to gain or lose house points, and as so her potion won't count and will be overlooked. Again, for future notice, please do not follow my current example when it comes to potion making.)
Going through her potion, Ella had many of the steps memorized. She had dedicated herself to her studies, and for whatever she could, didn't let a thing escape her. Ella was at the top of her class, and it was her duty to keep it that way. Not that she had wished ill on anyone below her, Ella had never seen it in a light such as that. Instead, Ella found the need for her to push her limits in order to make her time at Hogwarts well spent and worth it. If she were ever to forget an ingredient or a spell after her years, she'd feel ashamed for not having spent her time wisely during her school years.
She had just been allowing for her potion to stand for 10 minutes when a certain boy had caught her eye. Jett had held contact with her, captivating her with his eyes, like comets shooting across the peaceful night sky. No one would dare let a moment pass without taking their eyes off of them, the once in a lifetime experience. That was how Ella felt as she allowed her vision to be engulfed by the light against the night in Jett's eyes.
Just as well, a soft smile reached her glossy lips, and she had little control over her actions anymore. She had felt this overwhelming urge to stand and make her way over to Jett, though her mind thought better of it, and told her to resist. She did what she could to convince herself to stay as she was, perkily seated in her chair, and simply lifted her hand up, slowly, following the patterns of the wind. A small, silent wave was what she gave him, short and quiet like the wind's voice.
Ten minutes had been up, and Ella broke contact with Jett, finishing her potion.

| Irene blinked her eyes. "Oh! Sorry erm, Ella, yes? Oh, yes, I'm not doing anyting efter class. Are you busy? We could do homework or something like that I suppose." Irene blushed. She hadn't meant to ignore Ella's question, she'd been caught up in fixing her own potion, but she'd ended up messing it up anyway. Too much Sneeze Wart she supposed. Ella seemed very nice, and she hoped to get to know her better later. She hadn't meant to be rude to Ella by ignoring her, and Irene hoped Ella would forgive her for not exactly paying attention while she was talking. She could tell that Ella had been paying strict attention to Irene herself when she'd been talking, and felt guilty now that she hadn't been listening very well in return. | |

By the time she was done preparing the rest of her ingredients, the liquid inside Theo’s cauldron had turned a pleasant shade of yellow. Checking the clock, she found two more minutes at her disposition, and spent she spent them by casting her eyes around the classroom, to see what she had missed. There was a rude Slytherin, nothing new in Theo’s life, always rather fun subjects to her pranks, however. And a rather gorgeous Ravenclaw, one that Theo had certainly seen before, and who often made her cheeks warm in a blush. She carried with so much grace that made even Theo want to start acting like a lady.
Her potion had become the murky yellow that the instructions so plainly stated. Theo cracked her knuckles and then reached for the lovage leaves, holding all three above the cauldron a moment before she would drop them, thus making them a part of the mixture at nearly the same moment, one lagging behind the other perhaps in milliseconds. Immediately as they touched the surface of the draught the leaves began denigrating, and white smoke rose above Theo’s cauldron. She let a smile play on her lips, couldn’t help but look just a little pleased with herself. The potion was far from brewed, of course, but even making it this far was oddly satisfying.
The smoke cleared soon enough, and Theo was adding the valerian springs and juniper berries to her mixture when Austen ran his mouth again. She frowned because really, her own brain was brilliant if anything. She shuddered at a fleeting thought, then shook her head and tapped at the surface of her desk. Perhaps Austen didn’t realize it or perhaps he was just an idiot after all, but by insulting that Slytherin kid, he was insulting all purebloods. Theo wondered how many were present in the classroom. And truly, for a professor to fall to the level of a stupid kid, it was quite unprofessional. Not much unlike an insult Theo might throw, but certainly not one that should be found on the lips of a grown man who had been claimed a professional by the educating system.
Theo picked up a slotted spoon to pick out the whitened berries; and nearly dropped them back in as the banging from the storeroom sounded again. She cast an alarmed glance to the wooden door to the room, then to Austen, then back to the greenish liquid of her potion. She scooped whatever was left of both the berries and the valerian, and put aside the same to trash them later. That seemed to be all, though Theo cast a final look over her notes before tapping her wand against the surface of the draught. She noted an error going through the ingredients again, and failing to remember one in her steps. What even was a Hinkypunk? Theo certainly didn’t have it among her own ingredients, she never even heard of smoke of this creature being used in potions! The name was vaguely familiar, as if she was supposed to have studied it before, but Theo was sure it was never mentioned in Potions class. Herbology was out too, but COMC perhaps? No, she was pretty sure it wasn’t COMC either. There were plenty of creatures used in potions, and Theo usually made it her business to know which ones they were.
“Professor!” her hand shot up in the air as the initial alarm at having missed an ingredient slowly turned to panic. “There is no step indicating the use of Hinkypunk smoke.”

| Blaze, after hearing the Professor's comment clearly directed toward him, rolled up eyes. This professor was nothing more than some jackass 7th year taking over a class. He was worth nothing, as all Hufflepuffs were, and deserved to be thrown away.
"F**** this. Like hell do you even have any worth in this world. You can die and no one would care. I'm out of here."
Blaze stood up, flipping his desk in the process of him taking his feet off of it, and walked out of the classroom.

| As Blaze kicked over his desk, Emma started with a jolt, and a hefty amount of her next ingredient dropped into her cauldron, and the brew began to bubble at an unnatural rate. Emma's eyes grew wide, as she stood up from her chair, looking up to the Professor, who's gaze was fixed elsewhere. "Uh, Professor!"
But as she watched an angry Slytherin storm out of the room, she realized she must have been much more absorbed than she should have been. An angry Slytherin was never good news, and it likely rot an equally angry Professor. That wouldn't help her at all. As she turned back to her cauldron, she could see the smoke beginning to rise, the bubbling grew louder and louder, until Emma could see it was going to blow.
"Look out!" She cried as she dove out of the way, just as the brew exploded in icky green slops all over the classroom. She being nearest to it, was covered in the muck, and the dark smoke began to cloud the entire room.

Blaze threw his tantrum to the amusement of the professor. Austen laughed the whole time Blaze cussed and cursed Austen. Even when Blaze wish ill of him and his demised Austen was still a perky as ever, only making Blaze reaction worse, as he upturn his own desk. He paid that nor him no mind as Theodora pulled his attention.
The door to the stockroom gave another creak as if the full force of the castle was pulling at either end, ready to crack it in two. “Yes, Theodora,” he said with a pleased smile. Even that smile was a poor imitation of a genuine reaction he would have given, if someone had notice it sooner or did not ignore the obvious ruckus behind the stockroom door. “You are quite-“
He paused in midsentence hearing Emma yelled. He whirled around just in time to get a face full of green sludge in the face. Not only did it smother his face, but clung to the top half of his clothes. “Emma!” he said not in an angry way, but not kind either. It was more of the shock than anything else, that made him yell her name.

| Jett was sitting calmly next to Claudia, telling her all about what subjects he did and did not like and listening to her do the same. His eyes, however, could not help but steal glances at Ella every so often. Besides that he did not look around the room much and ignored the outbursts of the other students.
That, perhaps, had been a mistake. He did not fully heed Emma's rushed warning and as her cauldron exploded green slime Jett was splattered with the foul smelling liquid. It stuck into his hair and dripped down his neck, making its gooey way into his robes. Fortunately he had not been facing Emma's table and only his back was hit. He cringed as he reached his hair to his hair and attempted to remove the globs of slime. How careless was Emma that she had let her potion fail so miserably? Jett shook his head in wonder.

| Claudia was listening to Jett tell her about his likes and dislikes of subjects when she heard Emma yell, "Look Out" With that she ducked but not quick enough. Emma's Cauldron had exploded and its contents of green slime covered her back. She felt it in her hair dripping on her back as well. Its smell was horrid and very gross feeling but she couldn't help but giggle a little. It was a mistake after all. She looked over at Jett and noticed that his back was also covered and she shook her head. She then looked back at Emma and gave her a small smile so she wouldn't feel bad although she knew she probably would. | |

| When she heard Austen announce her name, she made the fatal mistake of putting her hands on her hands, transferring a hefty portion of the green goop to her fingers. Having been called out, though, there was little chance of Emma dodging the bullet now, as she sat up and shook some of the muck off her hands.
Emma could hardly tell if Austen was upset or angry, but when she looked at Claudia, and saw her smile, Emma couldn't help but grin. "Sorry Professor!" She was sincere, but it may not have seemed so, as she laughed the nerves off directly after the apology. She looked back up at her table, scratching the back of her slimy head, as the smoke billowed up into the ceiling, spreading throughout the room like the plague.
Okay, maybe now wasn't the time to laugh, she considered guiltily, unsure that the blow of slime was the end of this mistake. The Professor surely would know, however, as Emma returned her gaze to him. "That doesn't look good..." Rook finally squirmed his way out of hiding, returning to Emma as though in response to her constricted anxiety, but he gave her one sniff before retreating into her book bag.
