Among the books (Tag: Lucien)

It was another quiet afternoon at Hogwarts, not that Lore paid any attention, she was more interested in the book she was currently reading. The library was oddly "empty" today cept with a few students that would come and go as well as a few ghosts.

Lore bit her lower lip awkwardly, as much she would rather be doing something else...probably something active for once on a Saturday...she just didn't know how to socialize with others. It was just rather unnerving and annoying! Then again she figured other students probably found her weird...she almost spends most of her free time in the library after all.

She frowned, shutting her slate green eyes as she ran her hand against a familiar bookshelf. She stopped, selecting a book she had read on countless occasions. It was some sort of folklore or history book and what not, she didn't even look twice at the title or the name of the author when she came across it.

Her pale fingers brushed through the old pages of the book, feeling the roughened texture of parchment beneath her finger tips. Ah...how she loved books, they contained so much knowledge that it probably surpassed some of the greatest wizarding minds to date. Well, that's what she liked to think.

Lore began reading through her favorite chapter of the book, just as she was about to turn the page she heard someone walk in. Now, normally she would keep reading though something in particular made her want to look up. So she did. Her slate green eyes fell on another student who was currently returning books he had borrowed. By the way he was dressed she assumed he was from the Slytherin house.

Lore felt herself sink into the chair a bit, hoping she wouldn't have to start a rather awkward conversation with him.

Quickly she averted her eyes back into the book.

Lore couldn't help but frown slightly as the boy chose the seat across from her. At the sound of a book being placed down on the table, she looked up. She arched her eyebrow curiously at the book on the table, not all too familiar with transfiguration; she decided to mentally add it to her queue of books to read. She shifted uneasily hunching over trying to block her view of the boy with her book.

Lore lifted her eyes slightly from her book when the boy spoke. The corner of her mouth twitched as if she was going to speak before closing it. She sat there in silence trying to formulate some sort of reply to the boy, "Perhaps I..." she paused for a moment trying to translate German to English, "I can read better this way." she replied quickly in a thick German accent.

After a few seconds her lips formed a slight scowl in embarrassment thinking her response was utterly stupid, "Uhh..." she mumbled quietly, straightening her posture in her seat.

"Ja..."she mumbled instinctively when the boy said Deutsch. Lore uneasily let her slate green eyes fall on her book; desperately trying not to make as much eye contact with him in hopes he'll just get bored and wonder away from her.

She couldn't help but feel her cheeks heat up in annoyance when he stated that she seemed to be cradling a bad headache. Hell she'll be lucky if she didn't come out of the library with one. Her lips twitched a bit, feeling as though the boy was smirking at her at this point. She quietly looked up from her book, letting her eyes meet his two colored ones, "Nein nicht ich Medizin notwendig----.... " she paused quickly correcting herself, "N-no, I don't need any medicine..." she muttered as she leaned back so he wasn't in her personal space.

"Nein, no....if I did I wouldn't be in here." she stated in a hushed whisper, "Might I ask why a Slytherin would be here? Not that I discriminate or have a distaste for the other houses..I figured someone like you would be out socializing." she said arching her eyebrow.

He raised another eyebrow. "Socializing?" he smirked, "If i recall, this here would count as socializing," His smile was there, but his eyes told otherwise. He was far from one to socialize...He had felt slightly insulted, being grouped with the other irritating snakes in his house.

His eyes wandered down to the book in front of her. Despite his dislike for the sorting of houses...she did fall into a typical Ravenclaw.
"That's lucky," he replied as she said that she had no headache, " I don't discriminate or have a distaste for the other houses, but i heard that you Ravenclaws are very clever, how do you feel about a puzzle, a game perhaps?" He smirked, using her same words with her.

"On the contraire...I wouldn't count this as socializing." she said frowning slightly at his smile.

She arched her eyebrow at the boy again when he decided to quote her, "Cute. Do you usually quote others?" she asked sarcastically as she closed her book, "Puzzles and games?" she asked, "Are you implying we should play a game?" she asked, slightly intrigued.

Lore let a slight chuckle pass her lips seeing the boy pretend to act hurt by her comment. He's not so bad... she thought.

"Well, I do fancy a game once in a while...." she replied simply.

"Ich bin Lore Schiffer." she said simultaneously extending her hand after Lucien introduced himself, "Pleasure to meet you Herr Dupre." she said gripping his hand.

"This is what you call easy?" she half teased as she fiddled with the rubix cube. Her eyes lighting up with interest, "Alright three minutes. For the rubix challenge?"

Drei....zwei...eine... thought Lore as Lucien counted in English. Lore shifted the right face of the cube, then counter clock wise with a few flicks of her fingers. She flicked the left face of the cube then counter clockwise simultaneously with the right face. She then proceeded with the back face, down face, and the front face of the Rubik cube. Each with a precise 1/4ths rotation.

Lore was completely familiar with this muggle puzzle given the fact she is a halfblood. The first time she actually solved a Rubik cube it took her more than two hours, but of course after a few more hours of practice she was able to finish within three minutes and fifteen seconds. Hopefully she'll be able to beat her old time.

Lore stopped, setting the completed Rubik cube down, "Time?" she asked looking at Lucien.

Lore's eyes lit up, "Really?" she replied a little dumbfounded by her time. She blinked a few times chuckling as Lucien congratulated her, "I think you mean Fraulein Schiffer." she mused, "Frau is used when a woman is married."
