Living Room

Medea smiled faintly as she further thought about what life would've been like, nestled under the wing of the Auror Department. She shrugged it off deciding it was well off from her small limits


"Right to a degree before Muggle-killing maniac" she teased. She was surprised at hearing Blaire talk about her mother. Medea had only heard about her friend's father working in the Ministry and that was about all. Medea kept quiet, not wanting to delve further into Blaire's family life.

Her eyes sparkled, eyeing the snake. Her younger self would've been jealous of Blaire's innate gift of Parseltongue. "I used to have a snake once" Medea said softly, eyes clouded yet her dark lashes concealed the fact.

"Nothing-"Medea exclaimed, defensively, "he did nothing" she mumbled quietly. It was his fault as he did nothing.

Medea sipped her cocoa, quiet for a few moments before finally giving in. "It was nailed to the wall..."once more her voice faded off as did the focus in her gaze.

"So...."a grin was forced upon her face, "What cocoa do you use?" it was a random question, one in attempt to soothe the mood.

Medea gave a slow nod.

At hearing Blaire's words, a genuine smile crept upon her lips.

The emotions of hatred for Muggles was only brief. She relaxed, relieved at the lack of interrogation, a problem occurred many times with Veritack.

"From scratch?" Medea asked, almost amazed. She had ignored her family's house-elves when she was younger, and the orphanage...being a Muggle orphanage they housed no magical creature.

"Now where would you find a snake? Zoo or swamp?" she grinned at the thought of foraging through the thick mud, braving the countless kelpies and mud creatures which she knew nothing about.

[they should so go swamping ;P]

"Especially after popping out two kids" Medea laughed.

She frowned at the sight of hearing Blaire sigh. Mostly she saw Blaire in a cheerful mood-angry when the subject drifted towards a certain Gryffindor. Medea left it, deciding not to delve further into Blaire's space.

"I'm sure it'll be a great chance for some fresh air" Medea grinned. Out of the corner of her mouth, she blew a strand of hair out of her eyes and rested her arm on the arm of the couch, her mug warming up her frostbitten lap.

"I heard a Deatheater was caught there, brought up a mess in the Hog's Head 'pparently" Medea raised her eyebrow and nodded.

She was relieved that there was no mention of 'Magical Menagarie', she was reluctant to bring up memories of Karak.

"Merlin, i can be so gullible" Medea beamed and gulped down the remnants of her cocoa. Licking the last chocolately droplets, she looked to Blaire when hearing the small falter in the girl's voice and once more Medea avoided the subject.

"No idea..."Medea's tongue clicked loudly against the roof of her mouth as she tried to remember, "he must be someone strong though, he managed to knock about a dozen or so people unconscious including that beast of a bartender down in Hogsmeade. 'part from that i have nothing, zilch, nada, poof"

"So i'm guessing it's not like the one big hapy family i thought it would've been" Medea smiled, following Blaire by placing her mug on the table.

She hopped out of her seat, a bit too fast so she could feel the blood pulsing through her head.

When recovered, she smiled towards Blaire and offered her her hand, "Hogsmeade right?"

Medea nodded as if she was learning something new. Deep inside, she had already known that they weren't a 'family', happy at that. She saw it as ruthless in their gain to power, it was the very reason why she had wanted to join all those years ago along with her deep dislike for a certain Muggle boy.
Now, that certain Muggle boy had gained his payment and Medea's beliefs had vanished along with him.

Medea grinned and apparated, holding tightly to Blaire's hand. Her stomach lurched, and they were both gone.

Lubo's cage had 'mysteriously' disappeared through the Apparition. She could have been at risk of splicing, trying to unlock it, but she wasn't bothered by it.

"You can translate right?"Medea whispered to her friend. "Or i wonder if snakes speak caveman language, actions included"she laughed. Nearly everyone spoke caveman...

"Because as much as i wish, i can't speak snake" Medea feigned a sad sigh before grinning again.

She did an overly-extravagant curtsy to Blaire's snake.
"Pleased to meet you." Her tone was drenched with politeness yet the look in Medea's expression showed that she was just having her fun. Being overly-polite to snakes was clearly on easily-amused-Medea's list.

Ludo began to slowly slither down her arm, stretching his neck towards Blaire's scaled companion. His forked tongue flicked out curiously, tasting the air that surrounded the other snake.

Ludo, finally deeming it safe, neared towards the other snake. If she could read snake expressions, Medea would have thought him cautiously curious.

She decided to leave Ludo to his socialising.

"On the subject of Parselmouthery, would I be saying anything if i decided to hiss like this?" A variety of hissing came out as she grinned towards her friend. It was hard to not be interrupted by a fit of giggles.

Medea finally burst into a fit of giggles. "Why, did i say anything wrong?" she joked, trying to catch her lost breath.

Ludo finally left her arm, branching off to the back of Blaire's couch. Despite their short acquaintanceship, Medea was already feeling strange with the absence of his weight on her arm.

Medea finally caught her breath, red flowered on her cheeks. "I can make whale sounds too if you want"

She quickly stood up straight. "I er-I'm sorry about making a mess" she grinned sheepily, noticing that she still had flecks of mud on her clothing from their accidental-arrival at the swamp.
