"6?"
"HAH. Go fish."
Aimee lay on the wooden floor, propped up on her elbows as she squinted at her hand. Her brother sat across from her. Grumbling irritatedly, she picked up a card and scowled at the boy. "Go."
She hadn't started out playing this meaningless game - really. Aimee had actually been looking for jobs earlier on in the day - a giant stack of newspapers teetered on the table nearby. All her efforts had been for naught, however, and she had quit in irritation and annoyance. No one needed anyone for anything, apparently. Fine.
She rolled onto her back and yawned widely. She was still dressed in her sleepwear - her parents had gone out of town, telling them to 'hold the fort'. Right. She had no where to go, anyways, and absolutely nothing to do. Besides sleep. And find a job. And mess around with her brother.
She had entertained the idea of getting the part as pianist in the orchestra - only briefly, however. It was an uptight job, besides, and one with strict demands - something not suited for someone like Aimee. But, still...
"3?"
Aimee checked her hand - and groaned. She tossed the card behind her and heard her brother laugh. "Hush."
