| Irene sat down on the ground and pulled out her books. It had taken forever, but she had finally found the perfect place to study. It was wide and open, with plenty of natural light. But it was empty and no one else was here, which made it absolutely perfect. As a Gryffindor, Irene had a natural distrust of Slytherins and the fact that one had taken 30 points from Gryffindor for absolutely no reason last week certainly didn't help. She rummaged through her bag, pulling out a few textbooks and sheets of parchment. Her Herbology homework was due soon, and it wasn't exactly one of her strong suits. She wasn't too bad, though. Either way, it was obvious that she needed to work on Herbology. Her last essay had received an A, which was a passing grade but Irene aimed for E on every assignment. At least it was better than Potions or Ancient Runes. The Clocktower Entrance had always been a favorite place of Irene's because of the two grand staircases. They made the dull, boring castle seem like almost a palace.
After pulling out her books, Irene decided that Herbology could wait a minute. She stood up and decided that she'd had enough of the rules about no magic out of class. This was a magic school, after all! She pulled out her wand and stroked the beautiful golden wood. The tip glowed red when she whispered a few choice words. She slowly drew on the ground, drawing a phoenix. It was beautiful, and she wanted to keep it there forever. However, she knew that a professor or another student would probably eventually come along and report her, so she waved her wand again and it disappeared. On the back of Irene's left hand, the same phoenix glowed in red. She'd had that mark ever since she was born, but it vanished when she wasn't doing magic. She could draw over it though, for example drawing a gold fairy or a blue fish instead. She yawned and decided she probably should start studying her Herbology.

| Avery knew she had to practice her herbology soon because she was failing and earlier that year she had promised her mom and dad she would do better this year.she was walking down a corridor when she heard movement coming from inside the door. I hope it's not one of those Griffindors that think their great cause harry potter was once in their house she thought while opening the door.
She saw a girl turned around the other way studying herbology, but could not see who she was or what hose she was in and asked " can I study with you?"

| Irene looked up. She saw a young girl, maybe a second or third year, standing near her. She was also carrying some books that might have been for Herbology. Then Irene noticed the crest on the robes she wore. This girl was a Slytherin. Ugh. And now, this Slytherin wanted to study Herbology or other subjects with her. She was looking at Irene with a nervous smile and Irene thought, *She doesn't know who I am. She probably thinks I'm in Hufflepuff of Ravenclaw.* Irene decided that she would help the girl with her homework, but not be like, friends with her or anything.
"Sure, you can study with me. What class?" Even though Irene already knew it was Herbology, she couldn't be too sure. After all, maybe she just wanted to talk with someone who didn't know her house because she was in SLytherin and only Slytherins would chat with her. Then again, since she was wearing the Slytherin crest, Irene assumed she wasn't too smart or that wasn't the case. "I'm studying Herbology. I also need to catch up in Flying, my technique is awful according to the professor. I continue to fall off my broom or fly in circles without meaning to." Irene tried to smile at the younger girl.
(Can you try to use proper puncuation and spelling in rp, no offense intended but I didn't understand you for a second there. In pm and when we talk like this it's okay.)

| Thanks for letting me study with you I'm Avery, Avery Sparrow. And my herbology stinks she said with a small giggle. She set her books down on the floor next to the girl and noticed she was wearing the Geiffindor crest. What did I get myself into she thought. She sat next to her books and started studying then she finally said Your a Griffindor? | |

| Irene sighed. *Here we go again,* she thought. "Yes, I'm a Gryffindor. And yes, you're a Slytherin. And YES, we both need to study Herbology. So let's just ignore our houses for right now, shall we?" Irene realized both of them had been being silly, with all the Gryffindor-Slytherin rivalry. Of course, that didn't change the fact that most Slytherins were stuck up, rich, and purebloods. Apparently this one wasn't though, and Irene could get used to a little of that because everyone is sometimes all of them, or at least the stuck up part. But even muggle-borns sometimes act like stereotype purebloods. As a half-blood, Irene knew all about both the muggle world and the magic world. She wondered what this girl's blood status was. Maybe a pureblood, but probably a half-blood like her. Irene sighed again. Well, at least this girl's Herbology grade was horrid too. Probably worse than her, though. People always said Irene held such high standards for herself grade wise. Some said she should've been in Ravenclaw.
"My name is Irene Moore. I'm in Gryffindor, year five. What year are you in?" She knew that the girl would probably answer two or three, but she wanted to know specifically anyway. Irene twisted her hair around one finger distractedly, and gripped her wand tightly with the other hand. She wanted to be safe just in case, some other Gryffindors had been jinxed by other students lately. She smiled at the young girl, but it was guarded and didn't reach her eyes. She usually smiled and giggled a lot, but she was feeling unusually serious and grim today. Irene pulled out her wand, turned the tip red, and started drawing again. It helped relieve stress. And who cared if this Slytherin reported her to a professor? No one would probably believe her anyway, unless they used Veritaserum, but they wouldn't for a little girl.

| I'm a 2nd year pureblood but I don't care, honestly I don't think it matters. She said sharply. That's cool how your drawing like that watch this she said again while pulling something out of her cape pocket, it was a small bag and what she pulled out was a shiny gold quill. Can I borrow a piece of paper? She asked | |

| Irene considered her options. She could be rude and say not, or she could give the girl a piece of paper. Plus, she could learn what that quill was for. Irene grabbed her bag and dug out a piece of parchment. She cast a charm on it when she found it, without Avery noticing. It was a silent spell, and all it would do was tell Irene exactly what Avery was doing to the paper with that pretty little quill. Irene tapped her wand against the ground, and immediately golden flames formed a circle around the two girls.
"Something I learned from a book, pretty am I right? It'll prevent any other students from noticing us unless they have a professor with them or they're a seventh year." She handed Avery the parchment. "This is seriously expensive, so can you give it back if it's possible?" Irene had gone shopping at the beginning of the year and found some extremely high quality paper in a hidden shop behind another in Diagon Alley. She'd bought all she could, and loved using it. It had a hint of magic in it as well. Irene had enchanted it a long time ago to never get wet, get lost, or be stolen. It wouldn't work against dark wizards or professors of course, but it was pretty good when some other student tried to cheat off her work or steal it for a joke or to annoy her.

| Avery grabbed the paper and the quill she started drawing something on the paper, the quill needed no ink and the marks she made were a vibrant gold with a sparkle at first than faded into just a gold. She looked up at Irene and saw her looking at it funny, " hold on let me finish" Avery said, hiding the piece of paper behind a book so Irene couldn't see it.
Finally she said a couple of words and shouted "Hi Spooker!" She put the book down so Irene could see the chameleon on her hand. " the quill brings anything you draw. I drew my lizard Spooker." I have him instead of a owl cat or toad.

| Cool, except for the fact that in fourth year you learned how to do that with a charm. It was still cool. Plus, it was really pretty, the sparkly gold. The chameleon was sparkly gold right now, and Irene wondered if that was his natural color. Anyway, it was interesting. Ire wondered if when the chameleon appeared, the lines were erased from her parchment. She hoped so. Even though her quill was pretty interesting, she still didn't want to waste parchment because it was expensive.
"Can it work for anything, besides creating or summoning Spooker? And does it matter what kind of chameleon you draw, it will create him exactly the same as last time? For example, if he got hurt and you drew him without the injury, would he be healed?" This magical quill aroused many questions in Irene's mind. She wondered where Avery had gotten it as well. Magical objects like this that weren't charmed were extremely rare and worth a fortune. Irene hoped the girl hadn't shown this to too many people, because a lot of other students would want to steal it.

| You can draw anything and it will appear. And yes you can draw Spooker healed if he's hurt and he will be healed. Look at your parchment it will be just like it was before you have it to me, | |

| ('m going off for a little while after this post, I have to do chores and such.) Irene was glad. She felt a little bad for being so concerned about her parchment while Avery was showing her something, but she waved her thoughts of guilt away and smiled brightly at Avery. She nodded and took the parchment, placing it back into her bag. So the quill had healing powers with animals, and it could shape things. She wondered if everything created by the quill would be colored gold and only chameleons and other naturally color-shifting animals would be able to change color. She also wondered whether you were able to draw humans and heal them, and if you could the quill would be worth more than a fortune.
"Can I touch Spooker?" Irene asked. She wanted to know if he was substance or real animal flesh, etc. Irene also wondered if Avery had used it to create things other than Spooker, and she decided that of course she had. Most people would use it to create like, a pile of galleons, but Avery didn't strike her as that type of girl.

| (I'm back) Irene hesitated. She wasn't sure what her friends would think seeing her spend time with a second year Slytherin. Also, she wasn't sure if she would be able to go to Hogsmeade this week, she had to study and practice some spells. Irene decided to think on it later. She gently picked up Spooker and stroked his back. He was so soft, like woven threads of gold. Definitely not a normal lizard. She handed him back to Avery and wondered why he needed to be fed if every time he was summoned, he was perfectly healed and such. And what did a magical chameleon eat? Flies? Or magical dust? This quill was very intriguing.
Irene thought back to the girl's question about going to Honeydukes sometime. She supposed that it didn't matter what her friends thought, if they were judgmental they weren't really good friends at all. However, she didn't see how Avery would get to Hogsmeade. She was only a second year, and you needed to be in third year to go to Hogsmeade. But who was she to point that out of argue? Irene nodded to Avery. "Sure, that sounds great if you can get a pass to go." After all, she seemed nice. In fact, nicer than some of Irene's other friends. Irene couldn't help being disappointed that the girl was only a second year though. It would've been nice to have her in some of her classes.

| (This rp is kind of messed up now because I thought u were in second year but turns out ur in third.)
"Actually, as long as your parents sign the permission slip, you can go like anyone else I think. You're in third year, so, yeah, I would love to go to Honeydukes sometime with you." Irene smiled at Avery. She didn't really care what the other Gryffindors would think if they saw her hanging out with a SLytherin. Irene's only concern was whether she would be able to find time to go to Hogsmeade some weekend. She had tons of classwork and she needed to study for Herbology, since she had gotten virtually no studying done here in the Clocktower Entrance. Irene also needed to practice her spells, and she'd already planned to fix and organize her space in the Girls' Dormitory in the Gryffindor Tower. After all, all the bedsheets and comforters where beginning to wear out, and the sheets needed to be changed anyway. Even though the house elves did that sometimes, they didn't if someone wanted i done in a certain way. If you did, they you had to do it yourself. So Irene wasn't certain she could go to Hogsmeade with Avery.
"I'll think about it, okay? And I promise I'll come if I can." Irene really did hope she could go. It was just that her schedule was so busy, what with classes and practice, and the few chores that the house elves didn't do.
