PostSubject: Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina)   Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina) EmptyMon Jun 30, 2014 1:05 am

The long tedious walk from the Leaky Cauldron felt like it had taken hours, and with all the muggles running about, Dein was afraid any flaw in his behavior could put Eirina off and dissuade her from following any further. He had been raised as a true pureblood, after all, and looking at all the simpletons walking passed was much like viewing rats in a maze. They simply existed in his world, well a wizard's world; that's how his father taught him. But with the few conversations Dein had with Naer, it was obvious where she stood, even though she herself was pureblood. The conflicted standards made Dein feel uncomfortable, which was why he was walking a few steps in front of his aunt, until they finally reached their destination.

As the Headmistress asked him how much farther this place was, Dein stopped on the street corner to look up the humble clocktower. It had no tourist value, considering all the other hot spots muggles always seemed to gather around, and frankly this street was one of the far quieter ones, with only a few pedestrians here and there along the sidewalk. He pointed his thumb up towards the big clock and turned to her as he said, "We're here." Knowing it did not look like a house in any form, Dein led the way up to the front door, which was left open for public traffic. The room was rectangular, the length of it stretching out in front of them, and on the other end stood a humble display about the person who built the structure, and some of the history behind it. But that's not what Dein wasn't interested in. He went up the stairs on the right- stepping over the red rope that blocked it off, and glanced back to make sure no one was standing around aside from Eirina herself. Once he was certain there were no prying eyes, Dein gave the door a rough shove, and the aged wood opened up, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake.

PostSubject: Re: Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina)   Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina) EmptyFri Jul 25, 2014 11:13 am

As Eirina followed Dein she'd look about the premises, as there were many people taking their lunch break at this hour. They were all running around, trying to get to their lunch as quickly as possible and enjoy it as much as they could before they'd have to return to work. Even though Eirina worked in a home of sorts all day, she'd still have the same feeling. She was in charge of her own hours, but that didn't mean that she could simply not do her work (although she'd always leave it to the last minute anyhow), a lunch break was still an hour where she tried to forget about all of the papers that she had to do, opposed to her sitting there staring at them.

They continued and the streets seemed to get quieter, reaching a more secluded area in London. There weren't many people around, just a select few, and out of them nearly everyone minded their own business. It appeared to be a good area for Dein, if he made a mistake he was less likely to cause any disruption, but where would they be going here?

Then she saw the clock tower, and she went about following Dein on his way up, no people to be found inside. The entire time she was thinking, where in here could he possibly want to be? There was surely someone who'd come by to make sure that the clock was in working condition, if that person noticed Dein more than a few times he or she would surely get suspicious. And it was a small space, too, she was having doubts as she followed him around and entered the room that he led her too.

But before he could speak, Eirina did, voicing all of her doubts and concerns to his location.

"There's someone who must stop by to check on the clock, make sure it's in working condition. If they see you more than once they'll be suspicious. And where are the mechanics to it? If it breaks they'll come here to try and fix it, so you can't be anywhere near that. And it's small, sure it's secluded but even if one person came in here it would be hard to not bump into them!"

"Headmistress, you worry too much." Dein quipped in lofty tone, a bit irritated that Eirina doubted his intelligence. Of course he knew about how careful he would have to be when coming to this place, seen too often and the local muggles would think he was a homeless trying to hide out here, or maybe they'd see him cast some magic, and things would get even worse. But Dein had already scoped out the place before coming to Eirina, he knew this place would work perfectly as his new home, despite his aunt's doubts. He let Naer go first, before closing the door behind them and casting Lumos. "It's just up the stairs." This time, to prevent any awkwardness while they ascended, Dein brushed passed her to go up the stairs first.

The stairs led up to the inner workings of the clock of course, but there was also another room that Dein was interested in, and the door leading to it was at the top of the stairs on a landing, just before the area with the clock mechanism was. Light filtered in from the semi transparent clock face, so Dein could put away his wand.

"See the edges along here?" He asked as he approached the door and ran his hand along the edges of the door, "It's all sealed up like they don't use it anymore. I figure back in the day, the guy who maintained the clock lived here. Not now obviously, but that means no one will be messing about

He looked back to Eirina, sensing that this was not enough to put her mind at ease, "You saw the state of the door downstairs. No one ever comes here. I can apparate right here, and walk right in through here. Easy." He shrugged, his patience running thinner by the minute. He needed this, bad. He was tired of sleeping in his shop, and if that place was ever compromised, he needed someplace to go. "Look, I'll be careful, okay?"

PostSubject: Re: Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina)   Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina) EmptyFri Aug 08, 2014 11:21 pm

Eirina stayed back for a moment, looking around the place. It was old, dusty, and reeked of scum. And Dein wanted to live here? And how did he expect to live on his own with the flu, strep, bronchitis, the whole lot all at the same time? There was no way he’d be able to—that he’d know how—to take care of himself.

The thought itself reminded Eirina that she had business to attend to later. Business with someone else who cared, cared for others. Medically speaking, that is. But as Dein was slowly getting out of her sight, she lost the thought and quickly started to climb the stairs, not able to quite catch up to him in her not-so-teenage body. She’d gotten a good five steps behind him before she stopped her fast pace and continued up the stairs at something that was more brisk, that she could handle without losing her breathe.

Looking down, Eirina was still disgusted by the place. There were probably rats here, too. A place for rats to live, not for Dein to live. Even as they reached the top, she was still very uncomfortable with the idea. It seemed okay at first, but the deeper and deeper that Dein led her into this clock tower, the more she disliked it. The clock itself with all of its pieces took up so much space, and it was a dangerous contraption for a teenage boy who was just now living on his own, who probably didn’t care to be cautious. She wouldn’t even doubt that Dein lived for the thrill of trouble and death, not for attention from others but for himself.

There were so many thoughts running through Eirina’s head as she scoped the place out, that she hardly noticed that Dein was talking to her, pointing out some edges. She nodded her head as he continued with his story about someone once living here. Just because they were once here, doesn’t mean that they won’t come back, so no, she wasn’t convinced. Not yet.

But Dein continued on, and she could feel the sincerity of his voice. He wanted this place, badly, and he was even being cautious when he spoke to her. He wasn’t being obnoxious, rude, or deceptive. Not that she could detect.

So after a few, she heaved a heavy sigh, eyes closed, and nodded her head. He could have the place, she’d help him secure it for himself.

“But only if your careful!” She chimed in, as an afterthought, to make sure that he meant it when he said it.

PostSubject: Re: Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina)   Resident Edrins (Tag: Eirina) EmptySat Aug 09, 2014 12:53 am

He gave a quick nod as he wondered if her conern was founded as a headmistress worried about a former student, or as an aunt worried for a nephew. The latter seemed odd to him since she had only become an aunt just recently, and had no idea beforehand, but it was a possibility. The state of his new home wouldn't have effected him had he not seen Eirina looking about with disgust, an expression he had seen from his mother on multiple occasions in the past. He supposed he was bound to notice similarities eventually, though it was microscopic compared to all their differences. He wasn't sure Eirina would underatand, but this place was dark, secluded, and all that Dein needed to get by.

At first, Dein gave the door a shove to test it, before pulling his wand back out and with a rough flick of his wrist, the cement seal on the door cracked, and the door flew open. Beyond the door was an empty room, save for a lone desk and a wooden floor and cement walls. "A good charm or two and this place will be a lot bigger." He mentioned as he stepped in. To the right, there was a small bathroom that must've seen better days: the door was completely missing, and the toilet was rusted and looked far from pleasant. He seriously doubted the plumbing worked in the first place, but still, he noted it as another fix he would have to tend to.

Moving onto the next room and passed a dusted up window, he found what he assumed to be a kitchen, though all that was left was an old fashioned stove that had rusted worse than the toiled in the other room. "It's not as bad as it looks." He felt the need to reassure her as he stepped back into the main room, despite it being the first time he had been in here himself. "How long does the Fidelius charm take?"

Eirina stepped into the room, having to duck her head slightly in her heels. It, too, was worn like the building, if not worse. At least there were moving parts in other places, but this room had certainly seen better days. Dust was everywhere, mold was surely lurking behind the floorboards, and everything was rusted. There was a lot of work to be done here, and she could hardly imagine Dein having the patience for it.

And yet he commented on the size. Just the size at that moment, and nothing more. Eirina's arms crossed across her chest, as she were only here to do one thing. She only agreed to one thing, after all, and no more.

"That charm or two can be coming from your wand."

She cringed as they continued to move about the small space, feeling claustrophobic as they did. Feeling dirty as they did. She could hardly stand it anymore, and honestly she started to care less and less. He wanted this spot, that was sure, and he would be adamant about it. She could do nothing to convince him otherwise, and so she saw nothing else but to give in, to do what she was here to do, what she promised she would, and then leave him to the rest.

Not to say that she wouldn't drop by ever. To check in on things. That she would undoubtedly do.

"Just a few minutes, the place is small enough. But I believe I have a meeting to attend to, afterwards that is. You're no longer at Hogwarts to cause any larger of a dispute."

“Yes, of course.” He replied with a smirk. She seemed dead set on not doing any more than she promised. It was fine of course, after she finished the spell, Dein would have plenty of time on his hands. He would transform this place in no time. And the fact that Naer's spell would hardly take long at all, it was good news. As for this meeting she mentioned, Dein played off like he wasn't really listening, but he was certain she was talking about Lacetta. He didn't want to talk about Lacetta, and considering how the last conversation went, he didn't think Eirina wanted to either.

“Well, I'm ready when you are Headmistress.” He shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked over to her. He watched her expectantly, waiting for her to do her magic.

Eirina gave him a bit of a sour eye as he 'took charge', but never the less went on with it. She had her back turned to Dein now, her light blue jacket trailing down to just about her knee, or the back of it from Dein's perspective. And out came her wand, from a strap on her leg that she easily reached from under her skirts. It was much to obvious of a place for her to keep her wand in her pocket or her sleeve, as many others had. And she never wanted to risk anything like that, and so, the reason why she kept it on her thigh.

Closing her eyes, she raised her wand and began to cast the spell. The words were quick, but the spell itself took more concentration, even on a small place like this. Slowly the walls were built, a beautiful sight that Eirina could not see, as she was much too focused. Clear and shimmering, it started at the floor and slowly raised itself to the roof. Taking much longer than Eirina had said, about 8 minutes time, she finished with a sigh.

She looked forwards for a moment, thinking. She had stood there as she had cast the spell quickly, and the thoughts easily entered her then, and so she couldn't help but feel it now more than ever, like guilt hanging on her heart. She only turned her body partially toward Dein, though her face in full, as she spoke.

"You were right. I shouldn't have listened to gossip so easily, I shouldn't have cared so much to have sent her away, and to nag at you for it. The guilt...it would have killed me."

She paused for a moment, taking the time to look at her feet before looking in Dein's eyes.

"She is a nice girl, and I was wrong. Her being far away wasn't for your sakes, but mine."

It was hard for Eirina to admit that she was wrong, it always was. She was very head strong, and very emotional, and sometimes it got the best of her. She didn't always think things through, didn't consider multiple scenarios. This was probably the first time that she ever admitted to being wrong. Perhaps that's why Vincent left her...

She was prepared to leave on that note, knowing Dein she knew that she wasn't guaranteed a reply.

Dein watched as the barriers slowly stretched across every flat surface in all three rooms. Though it was an impressive sight, he had to admit, it was quite a lengthy process, and he found himself twiddling his thumbs as time dragged on. He stepped towards the center of the room to better observe, and then wondered if this spell was taxing on Eirina herself. He glanced back as she finished to see her back still turned to him. When she finally said what was on her mind, Dein wasn't sure how to respond. Dein didn't have anything to do with Lacetta ever since the last time he saw her. He would rather have avoided the subject entirely at this point.

Eirina faced him, and he couldn't help but avert her gaze. Thanks to her an old thorn had resurfaced, “Well what do I care? That's ancient history now.” He turned away to give the place another look over, and to avoid any expectant looks from his aunt, like he was meant to comfort her. Unfortunately for her, Dein had nothing to offer. As a nearly forgotten thought, he added, “Thanks for the help.”

He turned back to see her still standing there, and he pursed his lips. It wasn't his right to kick her out after the favor she just did for him, buuuuuut, he did want her to leave. “So... I have work to do... you have a 'meeting' to go to...” He looked towards the door pointedly.

Eirina nodded her head, both at Dein's comment toward history, and to his thank you. But she couldn't help but think of herself, and Vincent. Just when she had thought they were done, he had come back. And he left, too, but she was sure now more than ever that it was her doing. I mean they always fought, and they were both so strong in their opinions that no one would have lost, while everyone wanted to win.

"You're welcome. And you know, somethings history doesn't stay in the past."

He mentioned for Eirina to leave, rudely, but she understood with all that she brought up. She was kind of doing her own self revelation thing, for once. She didn't really, well, ever do it, and maybe she needed to. So she complied, and walked toward the door, opening it and leaving, closing it quietly behind her.
