Storage

Timothy had found a storage room, somewhere the whiny younger kids wouldn't be able to find him. He'd intended to reread one of the few body language books he had in physical form, but wound up falling asleep. His calves were up on a desk as the book slid down into his lap, fingers still holding onto the pages, his chin resting on his rising and falling chest.

Claudia had asked one of the professors if she could use one of the storage rooms. Although they didnt necessarily say no she took it as a yes. She had just made it to one of the storage rooms when she thought she heard breathing. Before she opened the door she thought of what could possibly be behind it. After a few minutes of thought she eased the door open with a creak.  What she saw before her made her let out a giggle. She had never seen someone sleep in a storage room. She put her hands on her hips thinking if she should wake him up or not.

Timothy shifted slightly, reacting to the noise. A hand tightened on his book, his head lolling back, hair falling out of his face. He frowned for a second before his hand relaxed and his face smoothed out, still asleep.

Claudia couldn't help but giggle. She backed out of the storage room and pulled out her wand. She eased the door shut a bit so that her wand still could fit through the crack. She knew she was going to regret this but it would be worth it. He shouldn't have been asleep in the storage closet. She pointed her wand at his chair.
"Evanesco." She whispered.

She jumped away from the door and hid in the corner next to the storage room. She put her hand over her mouth to keep herself quiet. If he became mad at her it wouldn't be that bad, She hoped.

Timothy hollered as his tailbone struck the ground, closely followed by his head. Talk about a rude awakening, he hadn't even realized he'd fallen asleep.
"Merlin's PANTS!" He cussed, rubbing his head and butt as he stood. Had he somehow fallen off the chair? There wasn't a tipped chair on the floor, though. he looked around, and the chair that he had been using seemed to have disappeared. He picked his book up before the pages could get bent, brushing them off and tucking it in a robe pocket. He growled as he turned and stalked toward the door, it was probably some stupid second year or something trying to be funny.

He opened the door so hard it hit the wall with a large 'bang'. "Alright, who thought it was a good idea to play a trick on the Head Boy?" He asked loudly.

The giggle that she was trying to keep in escaped her lips. By the look on his face he didn't look happy. She didn't know if she should come out and face him or run away. It took her a good minute or two to come to the conclusion of just waiting it out. If he hadn't seen her yet she must be ok with where she was. She tried to move farther back into the crevice of the wall but to no avail.

Timothy whipped his head toward the sound of a giggle, finding himself glaring at a dirty-blonde Gryffindor girl about his age, attempting to hide in the corner.
"Are you bloody serious?" He growled, taking a few steps toward her. "Tell me, did a memory charm go horribly wrong, or do you naturally have the maturity of a bloody first year?!" His shoulders were raised, fists clenched, his feet apart; he imagined he might be a rather intimidatng figure, but at the moment he didn't care about how she'd feel about him later. She'd pulled a naive prank and wounded him, and needed to know her actions had consequences. Such as a pissed off Head Boy.

If it had been any other time she would have backed down and cowered away from his stern and obviously mad voice but a tiny spark of anger set her off.

"For your information I do NOT have the  maturity of a first year! Anyway, if you hadn't fallen asleep in the storage closet this wouldn't have happened would it. I was just having some fun. it's not like I threatened your life, which in fact I would never do."

She had stepped out of the corner closer to the livid boy and crossed her arms across her chest. She could feel her face growing hot from the anger he was causing. She clenched and released her fists to keep herself from advancing towards him. She didn't know what was causing her to be so angry. She never got like this but all she knew was that she was not having any of it.

Timothy took a step closer, planting his hands on his hips, authoritative.
"You sure seem like you have the maturity of a first year. And you may not have killed me, but you're giving me a terrible headache. Falling asleep is not an invitation to have violent pranks played on a person." She was blocking, clearly hostile, but that wasn't news, her voice told him that much. "Ten points from Gryffindor."

Claudia felt the anger boil over the edge. How dare he take points from Gryffindor and say the things he did. She didn't care if he was Head Boy. She would not be spoken to like this.

"First off you don't even know me well enough to say I have the maturity of a first year. Second, I am sorry that I gave you a headache but I am not at all sorry for doing that to you. I had just as much right as you to be in that storage room, but clearly my purpose was a whole lot better than yours. I am also sorry that you don't know how to have fun. Lastly, you shouldn't have fallen asleep in the storage room. That was a let down on your part, and I would barely classify that as a violent prank."

Claudia placed her hands on her hips and gave him a smug look. If he was going to be like this, so was she. All she wanted to do was have some fun and she was hoping he would join in as well but obviously he wasn't that kind of person.

"I highly doubt anyone who finds a prank like vanishing a sleeping person's chair amusing is very mature." Timothy scowled. "I was using the storage room as a quiet reading spot, I didn't intend to fall asleep. And it was a violent prank, since it injured me. You think that's fun? I think this is fun: EITHER I take 5 more points from Gryffindor, OR you get a detention. Your choice." Timothy folded his arms and glared at the girl.

(I don't actually know if Head Boys can give detentions, Timothy's assuming he can.)

Claudia was on edge but she tried with all her will to stay calm but this boy was pushing her patience. He wasn't very likable at the moment and it was dwindling down to nothing.

"You call THAT fun!!" She laughed in disbelief at his comment. He had to be joking. There was no way he could possibly be serious about that.

"You obviously have to be joking if you think that is fun. Again. I apologized for injuring your head but obviously you don't want to accept it by the way your acting. She had moved closer so that she was talking directly into his face. It seemed that the distance between them was not getting the message through so that was her last resort to get him to listen and hopefully understand what she was trying to say to him. She stayed in the stance of her hands on her hips waiting for another smart/snide comment.

Timothy frowned at her attempt to get control over the situation, hands on her hips and invading his personal space. He didn't back down.
"Fine." He replied curtly. "5 more points from Gryffindor AND a detention. I didn't accept your apology because it was insincere and you're being rude. Use the room if you want, I've got better things to do than stand here arguing with a first year." He spat the insult, turning on the spot to walk off.

Claudia was not going to let him get away with this. She stormed after him and took hold of his shoulder to turn him around. She had a grip on it so he wouldn't get away but not to the point of hurting him. She had already done that once. She didn't like being insulted. She had worked hard to be liked at this school for five years and she was not going to get all of that knocked down because of this boy.

"You can't do that! I don't appreciate the insults you are giving to me. I don't want to become an enemy of you but at this rate I don't see it any other way. Either you accept my apology or not. The choice is yours."

She didn't release her grip in case he chose to walk away. For one, Claudia was not one for unanswered statements and questions.

At first she thought she could like him but the way he is acting over something that doesn't deserve this much fuss is crazy.

Timothy took a step back in surprise as she pulled him round, invading his personal space in a way few dared.
"Yes, I can do that." He frowned, crossing his arms. He was blocking, but it wasn't out of place in the situation. "I'll take off the detention, but the 15 points stays as reminder that you need to think before you act." He hissed. lYou feel bad about your actions now, I accept that your apology is genuine, but anyone older than a third year would have been able to realize that a person may not take kindly to being so rudely awoken." He took a step back and shrugged her hand off his shoulder. "If you want to consider me your enemy, I suggest you think long and hard about it. Not that it much matters to me. Now if that's all..."

Claudia had forced herself to calm down. She had quickly learned that he was no one to mess with. She still felt angry about the whole situation but decided that it was only going to get worse from here. She put on the best smile she could muster with the anger that was bothering her inside.

"I clearly understand that. It won't happen again I promise." Although the situation made it difficult for her to be nice she had to do it. She could not afford to have an enemy here, especially the head boy.

It took every once of her power to extend her hand out to him. It took a few seconds for her to get the words out.

"I never said I wanted to be your enemy, the choice was yours. I would much rather us be on a better note. What do you say?"

She hoped he would take her offer and try to be friends. The sooner the "joke" was forgotten the better.

Timothy glanced at her hand, waiting until she finished talking to grasp it. It didn't much matter to him, he doubted he'd do more than vaguely recognize this girl in a week's time. "Good. Have a good day." He walked past her, perhaps he could get some reading done in the common room...

Claudia was shocked by his bluntness but shrugged it off. If she saw him again she would be sure to speak to him.
"Well, bye then." She laughed. He was clearly a peculiar boy and then she remembered, how could this be the boy she went to the Yule ball with.
