| Eirina stood in the middle of the great hall as all of the students began to gather, sitting in their designated places. She looked out into the crowd with a smile, before waiting for the Great Hall doors to close as every student was present, now sitting.
With the Goblet of Fire in the middle of the Great Hall, Eirina stepped forwards, next to it. Raising her voice to make sure that everyone could hear her, she began.
"Hello, and welcome everyone to the Triwizard Tournament. We here at Hogwarts are honored to be your host this year. Now, as for the tournament, I will warn you all that there is no promise of safety. It is a dangerous competition, and only those brave and willing may enter, let alone have the honor of being chosen as their schools champion."
She paused before continuing, being sure to place emphasis on her next speech.
"Now, there are rules, and this must be taken seriously. Once you enter into the competition, you cannot take your name back out. It's final. However, it's not guaranteed that you'll be chosen, because only ONE person will be representing your school in the tournament. Only those between their 4th and 7th year may enter their name into the cup. The cup will be open at all hours for the next three days for anyone to enter their names. Please take that opportunity to not only think hard on your decision, but to also enter into the conversation."
With a smile, she took a step back and the goblet glowed blue.
"You may now proceed to enter into the competition."

| Timothy watched carefully. He wanted to look for confidence vs anxiety behaviours in those who went to put their name in the goblet in front of everyone. | |

| Being of a modest height while in the midst of a crowd of excited students made it difficult to see anything going on. It's not like Quiane had any plans of struggling through to the front of the great hall to stick her name in the goblet - in fact, she had no plans to put her name in the cup at all. More likely then not, people wouldn't even bug her about it any more then they did about her grades or where she would be going on holiday. So here she was, supporting her friends in so much as she could amongst the bony elbows poking at her sides while each school cheered for their various classmates putting their names into the cup.
She did smile and appluad when a few of her braver and/or cockier friends glided over to the cup, of course, but that didn't make her wish that it were socially acceptable to slip out of the hall and find some interesting creatures to watch. Quiane's hands were getting sore from all the clapping.
Giving in to the impulse to look around the hall, her head turned away from the front as her eyes flicked over the faces of strangers. How many of them would sneak into the hall at a later date in the hopes of becoming their school's champion?

| Vincent knew he was going to put his name in the Goblet but he was just waiting to see who was going to be his competition for it. He always wanted to observe his competitors before he did anything. As some students made their way to the Goblet he didn't really see them as much of a Competition. They didn't look like much. No one of his interest anyway.
He yawned a little. He knew that if anything by the looks of it, there was no one interesting putting their name in the Goblet. He sighed out a breathe and walked casually up to the Goblet and put his name in. This was going to be an interesting compitition that he wanted so very much to win. He went back to where he was sitting with a smirk on his face the entire time. He knew he was going to enjoy every minute of this.

| The Great Hall of Hogwarts was mere background to Adalrik. He took no pleasure out of the sparkling candles or the enchanted ceiling. He was here for a purpose, and that purpose was to win the Triwizard Tournment and the prize that came along with it. There was no failure in this mission, it was a life or death situation for Adalrik. With the prize money he could clear his name, move with his life. He was the only one worthy of the money. What would all of these brats do with it if they won anyway? Buy some pretty robes or feed some fancy animals? None of them had been through what he had; none of them knew how hard life truly was.
With a grim look on his face Adalrik marched straight up to the Goblet of Fire. He let all the commotion and awe around him fade until all he could see was the shinning goal of the Goblet before his eyes. The cold metal reflected in his even colder eyes. No flourish was made as Adalrik tossed the small scrap of paper with his name scrawled on it into the flame. He turned on the spot before the flame had calmed and stalked out of the Great Hall.

| Eleanie, an outcast, would never win the hearts and respect of her fellow students, nor did she want too. She could care less about the Triwizard tournament, the prize money of a thousand Galleons or the notoriety this big event brings. She set her parchment ablaze that had her name and Hogwart scrolled onto it because of two reasons. One, she wanted to destroy any hope the Durmstrang of winning, even if it cost herself from gaining the triwizard cup, especially if Sugar Plum was the champion, and two, deep down, even unknowing to Eleanie, she wanted to step out of Kaden's shadow; the perfect child her mother raves about.
Kaden on the other hand was in and among his gryffindor buddies watching the proceeding. He was mildly surprised, but did not outright show his state of shock seeing Eleanie set her name into the Goblet of Fire. Even though she was his sister, he could not help but wonder what insidious plans she had up her sleeve. His eyes followed her as she took her seat, crossing both her legs and arms as she watch who would put their name in next.
Kaden wasn't on planing on putting his name in the Goblet of fire, or becoming a triwiz champion. He wasn't a show boat type. That was juvenile. All around the world dangerous task needed to be taken with serious consequences. The triwizard tournament makes light of the heavy burden those few wizards undertake with little recognition. He did not see the point in joining, but he would find the enjoyment of watching.

| Veronica looked dazed and confused as she sat amongst the other students from all three wizarding schools. Confundus was she on why she was there, even the Headmistress of Hogwarts did not seem to clarify it enough for her. Her eyes darted back and forth from one person to the next as if her eyes were a ping pong ball being paddled to and fro. Her eyes finally stop on the first person who moved, and for the first time she saw the torch with the dancing blue flame. Her confused look slid off her face in awe of the fallen star trapped in the torch only to spark and sizzle when someone put something into its embers. The star could not be saturated by just one, whatever it was, another got up to feed it.
This time Veronica was on her feet slowly putting one step in front of the other as the flame dance happily in its basin, waiting for someone else to feed it. A cold shiver passed through her as she step over the edge of the age line that circle around the Goblet of Fire. She reached out to touch the flame, but she had no desire to anger the fire demon. Instead she turned to the closest people around her, and asked dreamily, “How do I feed the fire?” Hoping that would set the star free.

| The buzz of excitement in the Great Hall was tangible. It made it's way through Jett's body like an electric charge, hitting on all his nerves and sensors until he could barely contain it. His body was humming with pent up electricity and energy all waiting to be released in one big explosion of force. The voices of students around him were melodious as accents and foreign words mixed and connected. He could catch snippets of eager conversations and see the drumming of fingers and twitching of legs. Everyone was anxious or excited.
He watched as fellow classmates and newcomers walked up to the fire and placed their names in for consideration. The moment he had heard that the TriWizard Tournament was to be held Jett had gone into quiet contemplation. Over the last week he had thought long and hard about entering. It was a chance for the glory he desperately sought out, for the recognition he knew he deserved. On the other hand it would severely affect his studies. Ultimately Jett decided to forgo the competition in order to focus on his school work and personal projects. There would be plenty of time for glory and fame later on in his life. For now his education was foremost in his mind.
During the tournament Jett would just cheer on his champions and enjoy the festivities, leaving the danger to others with less to lose. He inwardly hoped Eleanie would be champion, it might do her some good to have other supporting her. When Jett saw Vincent put his name into the fire there was another reason he was glad to not be participating. He would not want to go up against his friend, but would rather show his support for him.

| Miron was eager to put his name in the cup, much too eager to wait until later when there would be less of a wait on it, screw what the Hogwarts Headmistress said, the sooner the better. He already had his name folded up in a sheet of paper, and as he made his way through the crowd and towards the cup, his gaze was fixated on the blue flames. At least, until a young beauty had summoned some assistance. He approached with a smirk, taking her hand and placing his extra bit of paper in her palm, "Just write your name on this, and put it in. Do you need a pen?" It would seem the girl had neither listened to the Headmistress, nor understood the Goblet. But he hadn't really listened to the Headmistress either, and so what if she didn't understand? She had ten times the looks to make up for it, and she was just his type. | |

| Charlotte was sitting off to the side, on the very top of the bleachers where she excitedly gazed out into the crowd. Her feet and her hands were shaking like crazy from all of the excitement, but what popped out was her big toothy grin of white teeth.
She didn't know if she wanted to enter the tournament or not, because she wanted to focus on having fun with someone special. It was then that Charlotte's big eyes noticed the beautiful Veronica, with her long red hair waving out behind her. She was always so very beautiful, like a veela!
It looked like she was trying to enter into the tournament, and Charlotte knew that she shouldn't approach her, but when she saw that boy trying to flirt with her she could hardly help herself! She did laugh though at the sight, thinking it funny that he may have thought that he'd get anywhere with Veronica, but Charlotte didn't think that Veronica would really get it.
Jumping her way down the balcony, Charlotte skipped her way over to Veronica. Charlotte's big and flashy homemade glittered skirt shimmered as she skipped, but she didn't care about the attention it brought her.
"Here you are, lovely!"
Charlotte jumped in the way, standing very close behind Veronica and slipped a pencil in her hand.

| Claudia was having a mini debate with herself about entering her name into the Goblet. She had many reasons to not put her name in but she also have a lot of reasons not to put it in there. She had written her name clearly out on a piece of Hogwarts parchment incase she did in fact want to put her name into the Goblet. She thought for a while and before she knew it she was walking at a calm pace to the Goblet. She noticed some other people surrounding the Goblet but paid them no mind. Before she could stop herself she had already dropped her name into the Goblet. As she turned around to go back to her seat she thought to herself. Well, there is no turning back now is there. | |

| The shroud over Veronica’s eyes had been lifted but how, she could not say. Even the piece of parchment she held up to eye level was a mystery to her, wondering where she had gain such a withered, old thing. Maybe her fairy friends did follow here to Hogwarts, but she could not fathom how. Veronica at the thought of their dancing light, just like the fallen star burning bright even amongst the sea of faces, could not suppress a giggle. It was a child like giggle, one full of joy and wonder.
Than a quill of green, blue and black hues appeared in her hand, but this was not her petite friends coming to her aid, but her sunshine known as Charlotte. Veronica held Charlotte hand in hers for only a moment, being pulled out of her own encase shell by Charlotte’s beauty. It seemed like Charlotte was made up of tiny fireworks that exploded in beautiful colors, not realizing that it was her skirt catching the light of the blue flame, and the enchanted ceiling overhead.
The fallen star drifted back into her mind, which she almost forgot by being so close to Charlotte. First thing was first; she had to save the fire demon. She crotched down into a little ball where she stood, not noticing a few feet in either direction there was a table to write on, and scrolled her name and the school she was in.
Veronica Fay Beauxbaton
She did not move as she let the quill tickle her chin. Instead of setting the parchment a blazed, she decided a few kind words would help it, so she scrolled,
Please set the fire demon free.
With rejuvenated excitement, she got to her feet watching the flame plead for another parchment. She could not wait any longer as she stood on her tippy toes to give what the demon wanted, but it sizzled and fizzled out just like the rest. It was if all her hopes and dreams were shatter seeing the flame still dancing in its basin. She turned to Charlotte, seeing her but not really seeing her, almost in tears. “It did not work.” With sad disappointment she shuffled away.

| There was no hiding the look of dissatisfaction on his face, as one confusing turn led to another, and he was left rejected, and his jaw hanging stupidly. He recomposed himself when he looked to the other Beauxbaton girl, and, in defeat, went forward and put his own name in the cup, so he could could spend his time elsewhere. Why was it always the pretty ones? It didn't matter much either way, Miron would find another one by the end of the day. | |

| Her large eyes seemed to somehow go wider as Veronica started to walk away.
Charlotte looked at the Durmstrang boy who stood beside her with quite the confused face, before taking a pleading glance toward Veronica. Her feet began to flutter on the floor and her skirt flew out from behind her, glitter and sparkles and all.
"Veronica! Veronica!" She caught up to the girl and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, talking more quietly now, "What's wrong? What didn't work, sweetie?"
She was confused, and very sad to see how upset her beautiful Veronica was. She never wanted to see the girl sad, and Charlotte had such a hard time with it. Her heart ached for the girl, and she only ever wanted to fix what had gone so very wrong!
Although, she hadn't wanted to put on a display in front of so many students. It would be quite bad, and she hadn't known about Veronica's parents very well. If they had heard any rumors, or rumors started to spread, well, Charlotte hadn't wanted anything bad to come of this.
Hurt feelings were so upsetting, and so she led Veronica to a corner of the Great Hall, where nearly no one would ever notice them to speak with her.

| One by one her classmates and members of other schools cast their lots. Maybe that was part of the glamour to it: everyone had a chance of entering the competition and be judged impartially. And if they were able to pass through what Quiane believed to be the first trial (winning the goblet over for the first time), then the champions would be held in esteem by the rest of their classmates despite how well-liked or how hated they may have been at first. It was the dream transformative experience for anyone.
Yet her friends seemed to have grown teary eyed over Veronica entering and Charlotte seemed to be trying to comfort her. Maybe Veronica didn't need her to help- No, Quiane firmly pushed that thought aside as quickly as she wove through the muttering "Excusez-moi" most of the time over to her friends. No matter how odd it may seem for Veronica to begin crying after she put her name in the goblet, it was her duty as a friend to do what she could to help. If it wasn't needed, then she would simply leave them be, maybe leave the hall. Her presence wouldn't be missed and this was one of the times when she was genuinely glad of that.
The girl hovered by their sides, her face set in a peculiar mixture of worry, determination and patience. While most of her time spent with Veronica was in silence and spent in distant admiration of Charlotte's open kindness, it was a bit unnerving to offer her comfort without knowing for sure what they needed. "Are you two alright?"

| The strong gusts of winds blew Veronica off course from her final destination. She was tucked away in the corner of the Great Hall with Charlotte. Nightmares danced in her eyes as if seeing Veronica like this brought the ghost and the ghouls and everything that goes bump in the night to life. It made Veronica hide her face in her satin blue robes, letting her salted tears stain her face.
It wasn’t until Quiane came that the kitty untangled herself from the layers of clothing to take in her new surroundings. It was first the enchanted ceiling which had ominous clouds riding in, ready to bring on the terror of lightning and opening up the heavens to let the angels cry. Her eyes move from one worried face to the next, soaking in their nectar and letting it infuse all the way down to her toes. Then she slide her eyes in the between place, where she could see the blue flame of the Goblet of Fire, and her blotch eyes welled up with tears again.
“The Falling star,” she said pointing at the blue flame. “It wants to go home, back in the sky where it belongs. Why won’t it go home?” she asked desperately.

| Matthieu snuck back into the hall with everyone else, and stood staring at the Goblet. He was still on the fence about competing, and didn't know what to do. He had a paper with his name and school written on it, but didn't know if he should go with it. He scanned the crowd, looking for one of his friends, but didn't see a one of them. "We know you're going to do it, Momma's boy!" one of his classmates yelled from the security of the crowd. Matthieu raged silently at this unknown student, and at that moment, he walked up, and defiantly threw his name in, daring the Goblet to reject his name. When the fire accepted it, he stalked off, never looking back. | |

| Running her fingers through Veronica's hair, Charlotte gave a very saddened and concerned face. She couldn't handle seeing her so sad, and she wasn't sure how to cheer her up. She was so cute, thinking that the fire was a star and that she could set it free. Charlotte would never shatter that!
"Oh, love, it'll be free once the names are chosen, I promise you that! So you see, you did help it, a lot! All you have to do is wait, okay?"
Charlotte smiled kindly Veronica, but the voice had interrupted their moment. Charlotte was upset about the interruption, but smiled brightly at seeing Quaine, a girl who was always so nice.
"Quaine! I haven't seen you since the trip over! We're alright, thank you so much for asking. It amazes me how you go out of your way for others! Quite the admirable quality, you know?"
Her smile was now really big, and she meant every word that she said to Quaine, but Charlotte felt a little arrow in her heart of jealousy. Veronica, she felt, was hers to take care of, and she had really just wanted to do it properly and alone.

| Erika didn't have to think long before deciding she'd enter the competition. The money she could earn- would earn by winning- if elected would set her free from a poor home of dust and desperation. Eyes were on her as she stood before the Goblet to toss her name in, not seeing farther than the outside beauty, looking in awe to this competitor. Erika gave a theatrical smile, eyes glancing around the chamber as if acknowledging those who watched her. They could choke on it. Name was in. Erika was out. | |

"Hello, good afternoon, everyone. Please, take your seats, for it is time to pick our champions!"
Before Eirina could even continue her speech, the Goblet was already being set off, and out came the first Champion, from Beauxbaton. She opened the piece of paper, and it read...
