With a curt nod, Dein turned away and headed down the stairs swiftly, not planning to delay the inevitable for much longer. The more they waited, the more Lacetta would second guess herself. As he reached the bottom of the steps, he turned to the kitchen, and with an accio, a drawer came open and a plastic bag flew his way. He used another accio, but nothing appeared to happen right off the bat. He thought for a moment, before glancing up to see a thing piece of metal coming down towards him. He caught that quickly, and then walked into the kitchen to fill the bag with ice. Lacetta hadn't asked for it, but he thought she might change her tune after he wrangled the bullet from her arm.

On his way back up, he grabbed a towel off the stove rack, and wrapped the bag of ice around it. And on his way up the stairs, he enlarged the tweezers. He appeared before Lacetta once more, now ready to remove the piece of metal from her arm. "Ready?" He asked as he sat beside her once more, placing the ice down on the bed and adjusting the enlarged tweezers to test his grip on them. Dein then looked to Lacetta, looking for the sign that she was good to go. Readying herself probably wasn't easy, so she gave her time to catch her breath. After a moment or two, however, he took her arm again, waiting for her consent. "Just look at me."

Dein had disappeared, and Lacetta couldn't help but look, from where she was seated, down the stairs after him. She couldn't see a thing, but as Dein had come back up, she took notice to the ice and the tweezers, enlarged just as she had imaged.

He took a seat back down next to her, only this time it was different, fairly different, and Lacetta couldn't quite place why. She had been so uneasy, and now it was a bit of facing what would have to happen. She didn't like the idea very much.

The words that he spoke were beyond kind and gentle, and soothed Lacetta ever so slightly. He asked if she was ready, and Lacetta had promptly nodded, looking at him as he asked.

Though her gaze quickly slipped as she saw a slight glimmer. The tweezers had reflected the light of the window for a moment, and caused Lacetta to see just how close the tweezers were to her arm. She couldn't help as her body reacted, flinching back and out of Dein's arm.

Lacetta now had her back on the dashboard of the bed, shaking her head wildly, eyes closed and legs pulled up onto the bed. She held her left arm with her right hand, enclosed over the wound, causing just a bit more pain from the now sensitive and exposed nerves.

"I...I can't, it's okay. It'll be fine to leave."

She hurried through her words as she spoke.

His heart dropped as she pulled away, though he understood why. With an exhale, he rested the tweezers on the bed for a moment, watching her as she curled her legs up and openly refused the horrible metal in his hand. Again, the thought from earlier struck him, and his gaze drifted to the tweezers. There didn't seem to be any other options left, and he had to do something. So, he pulled himself closer to her, and brought his hand to her cheek looked her eye to eye, and paused.

Every warning siren and subconscious awareness was going off in his head as he leaned in, and brought his lips to hers. A kiss was one hell of a distraction, and perhaps he lingered more than he should have. When he realized it however, he pulled away, quick like the come and go of thunder. He could still feel the heat of panic rolling over him, in fear that she would hate him for this, and his heart felt like it would pound a crack right through his ribs. But when he held up the tweezers, the bloodied bullet was there.

PostSubject: Re: Time is the Longest Distance (Open)   Time is the Longest Distance (Open) - Page 3 EmptyFri Jul 19, 2013 1:39 am

As Dein had slipped his hand under her chin, Lacetta continued to look down. She hadn't wanted to do it, and she was certain that Dein couldn't coax her with words. She'd much rather leave it as it was, though she felt bad for denying Dein, after all of his tries.

Something soft had stolen her, though, for Dein's lips had now been pressed onto hers. Her eyes had shot up and shot open, quite largely and in utter shock. She had never been kissed before, not on the lips, only friendly hello and goodbye cheek kisses. Her heart was fluttering like a baby bird that was just learning to fly, and soon after she closed her eyes. It was an odd feeling, though Lacetta felt it all the same, and she kissed Dein back.

Too soon had he pulled away, and Lacetta was speechless. How were she to explain herself, were there even words for her to say? Though she found herself without a need for words as the bloodied bullet appeared between her, and Lacetta naturally looked down and grabbed at her left arm that now had a small trickle of fresh blood, from the departed bullet.

PostSubject: Re: Time is the Longest Distance (Open)   Time is the Longest Distance (Open) - Page 3 EmptyFri Jul 19, 2013 2:06 am

He watched her as she stared back at him, then upon seeing the bullet, she looked down at her arm. As his hands began to shake, he got up again, not allowing the blood to drip anywhere as he took the bullet to the bathroom and washed it out in the sink. He took his time to keep his distance; making sure the blood didn't stain her sink, examining the bullet itself, once clean, and putting her tweezers back in order.

His head felt like a heavy, unchanging stone, delaying his movements and thoughts, but eventually, he made his way back into the other room, the tweezers put away, and the bullet held between his fingertips. He couldn't look away from her once he'd come back in, though, he didn't particularly know what to say. He wasn't sure if he should sit, but he did, and he looked at her wound again. "So," He reached for the medicine she retrieved earlier, as well as the ice, and set it out in front of her, finally looking her in the eye again, even if she wasn't necessarily looking at him.

He hadn't ever imagined a moment such as this ever occurring, so suffice to say, his head was numb, in a way. He shouldn't have made this anymore complicated than it already was, and he knew he'd regret it later. For now, however, he didn't feel the need to worry about anything. For now, he was here for her, for as long as she needed him. His lip twitched for a moment, before a small smile appeared.

PostSubject: Re: Time is the Longest Distance (Open)   Time is the Longest Distance (Open) - Page 3 EmptyFri Jul 19, 2013 9:29 am

After having the shock of the bullet being out, Lacetta could now feel the emptiness of where it had sat, and the tingling pain of the open wound. It wasn't nearly so bad without the bullet, moving as she did against her body, but it was a shocking feeling all the same.

As the bed shifted and Dein had made his way to the kitchen, Lacetta had looked up, watching from an angle as he washed the things and stood in the bathroom. They had kissed, and Lacetta could hardly see it as more than an illusion.

It took her some time to really think about it, the mixed feelings that she had and everything else. Now, watching as Dein took his time, she had thought that perhaps she had done something wrong.

Dein had once again entered, and Lacetta had no words that came to mouth. Not right away. She fought the silence for a bit in her head, trying to think of something that was worth saying at a moment like this, though the only thing that came to mind was to apologize.

She had felt his eyes on hers, and looked up, but only for a moment as she looked back down at the ice that he had placed in front of her. As she took the ice, she spoke quietly.

"I'm sorry…"

"For what?" It was intended as a rhetorical question, his way of saying she hadn't done anything at all. He leaned over to take another look at her arm, and slipped the bullet into his pocket. "So what's next? Bandages?" He smiled at her, though she seemed to be avoiding any eye contact. He moved away, sitting up straight to give her space.

He wasn't anywhere near discouragement, but he knew he caught her off guard, and that wasn't entirely fair. She did kiss back though, he told himself with a smirk. He glanced to the window, where the last bit of sunlight of the day filtered in, and thought about the conversation he'd had with Eirina. It put a bit of a damper on his spirits.

The smile on Dein's face could only make Lacetta smile. Shyly, and quietly, but she smiled before looking back down. She didn't really understand what it all had meant, but having seen Dein's smile, she guessed that it hadn't mattered much.

Lacetta now picked up the ointments and flinched a little as she put the two on her arm. That had to come first, before any sort of bandages. She had smiled a bit though, more so to herself, as how silly it would have been to bandage someone and then apply ointment to the bandages. Though, they would soak it up, so surely some of the ointment would at some point reach a patient's skin.

Closing up the two bottles, Lacetta turned and laid them down on the dresser beside her. They were a little close to the edge, as Lacetta couldn't reach much further from her spot, but she was certain that no one would bump into the nightstand.

"Now bandages."

She smiled as she spoke, just as she usually did, now looking back at Dein, feeling much better than she had earlier. Lacetta was more relaxed, sitting nearly crosslegged on the bed, only her feet were touching eachother and her knees sticking out on both sides of her body.

He gave a curt nod after catching her smile and, feeling elated, his feet hardly made a sound across the floor as he made his way to the bathroom. It took a moment to find where she kept the bandages, but after rifling through the medicine cabinet, he returned with it. Sitting back down, he unrolled the bandaging, and reached for her arm again.

Before he started, he stole another glance at her before slowly winding the bandage around, and around the wound. He tried to make it tight enough to apply the right amount of pressure, yet not tight enough to make her uncomfortable. It took a moment, however, to get the bandage to stay, but eventually he got it tucked in correctly.

"How's that?" He asked quietly as he sat back, watching her with increasing interest. But soon, he was looking around the room again, wondering if she would still stay in this house after everything that had happened (he avoided the thought about his involvement in the passed events, so he wouldn't feel the stab of guilt). It would have been better if she moved on quickly, no doubt the muggles would start sending their own in to ask questions, and get to the bottom of the murder. Technically he hadn't done anything, but he didn't need the risk of anything leading back to him. Well, him or Lacetta.

PostSubject: Re: Time is the Longest Distance (Open)   Time is the Longest Distance (Open) - Page 3 EmptySat Jul 20, 2013 12:57 am

As Dein had reached to bandage her arm, Lacetta was about to protest and say that she could do it, though Dein was much faster than she.  He looked up at her before starting to wrap the bandage, and all that Lacetta could do was smile softly, her heart feeling like it was on a cloud.

It was a combination of feelings that made Lacetta feel quite strange all over. A bit of nervousness, a bit of embarrassment, endearment, and so many other things, she couldn't sort it all out. It now appeared that the feelings had all blended together into one, and she couldn't pinpoint a thing in that moment.

Looking at the bandage, Lacetta smiled once more. She looked up to Dein as she spoke, another one of her brighter smiles resting on her lips.

"Perfect."

It may not have been exactly as she had said it to be, though in that moment it felt more than perfect. The bandage would surely last, anyhow, and she'd have to change it. It was well done, for someone who was not trained as a healer.

Dein's attention though appeared to be elsewhere, just as Lacetta's had earlier, though not quite to that extreme. She questioned it in her mind, though hadn't questioned it allowed. Rather, she continued on, having once more taken note of her bloody clothing.

"Do you mind if I change? And I should have offered earlier, though afterwards would you perhaps like some dinner?"

It was always the duty of a homeowner to offer their guests food and drink at arrival, though Lacetta had been too much in a daze on arrival. She had now felt bad for having not said so earlier, and was doing her best to make up for her mistakes now.

His gaze returned to her once more, caught off guard by the suggestion. Perhaps she was only being polite, but Dein took it in a different light, all the same. He gave a curt nod as he got up and headed for the stairs, "Certainly. I'll wait down here." He headed down, walking into the kitchen as he took in the simple decor. She must not have been here long at all, what with the lack of personal touch. It seemed suitable conditions, however. Plenty to suit the needs of one resident.

He leaned over the counter, staring at the clock as he waited for Lacetta to come down. He was curious as to what sort of ideas she would have for dinner, whether it meant cooking something extravagant, or something easy. The last time he'd had anything home cooked was before he attended Hogwarts, and it hadn't been the greatest of cooking from his mother. He himself couldn't cook much either, and so he ate out as much as possible.

(I'm terribly sorry! I had thought that I posted before work but it appears that it hadn't gone through!)

After Dein had left, Lacetta had made her way to the bathroom with a new pair of clothes. There, she made sure that she quickly wiped down her body with a damp towel to get rid of what dirt and blood may have been there before changing into her new, long skirt and shirt.

Under the sink was a small trash bag, and Lacetta took one and stuffed her dirty, stained clothes inside of it, sealing it. She could wash them, though Lacetta would feel much more at ease to simply throw them away. The bag, however, she left in the bathroom for the time being.

Making her way down the stairs, Lacetta looked around to be sure that Dein had still been there. She had offered to make the two of them dinner, though she wasn't sure what to cook, nor if there was very much to cook in the house.

Lacetta rummaged through her pantry, finding only a few things. She had pasta, and a few potatoes and tomatoes, so perhaps she could make a simple pasta dish. Or, now that she thought, she could always make breakfast for dinner, as so many muggles did.

"Do you like pasta? Or perhaps breakfast for dinner?"

She had never been a particularly fabulous cook, though Lacetta knew how to cook the basics rather well, and anything above that she either hadn't known how to cook or it simply tasted average, as any home cooked food did besides many mothers. She was already certain that she couldn't compare to Dein's mom, though she hadn't asked.

Now she turned to face Dein, looking at him with curiosity as her lips perked out and her head tilted ever so slightly, as she had the tendency to do.

As Lacetta entered the room, Dein's gaze was fixated on the window. He had just the right view of the Inn down the road, and he could see the people lining the building, the crowd slowly growing by the minute. Soon, the muggle police would be knocking on every door in the area, and Dein hoped to avoid any issues with those sorts of folk.

"You eat breakfast for dinner?" He observed Lacetta, as she rummaged through her cupboards, and he crossed his arms. Sure, he'd heard of people who did have breakfast at this hour of the day, but it hadn't ever appealed to him. He'd never even liked breakfast in and of itself.

"Pasta would suit me just fine." He told her in a low voice. In the back of his mind, he was telling himself he needed to get a move on. But there was also another voice, telling him to stay. Sadly, the least logical voice seemed to currently be winning. His want was overpowering his need.

Laughing at Dein's comment, she nodded her head, grabbing the pasta as she did so with her right hand. She now turned to Dein as she spoke, though she had also reached for a pot to cook the pasta in.

"Why, of course! It's quite delicious, it's like having dessert at all the wrong hours!"

She thought of pancakes with whipped cream and berry toppings, and french toast that was covered in sweet cinnamon with maple syrup dip as she reached for the pot with her left arm, nearly forgetting about the pain, until she grabbed the heavy pot and dropped it immediately onto the floor.

Lacetta blushed with embarrassment, putting the pasta down and picking the pot up with her right hand this time. She filled the pot up with water and set it on the stove.

"Is there any pasta that you like in particular? I believe that I the ingredients for just about anything!"

When she dropped the pot, he was quick to come to her side, but she had already picked it back up and continued on like it hadn't occurred. He stayed beside her however, keeping an eye on that left arm of hers.

"Why not spaghetti?" He suggested, it having been the quickest and easiest dish he could think of. With that arm, he supposed she couldn't do anything too strenuous, "Unless you wanted something else?" He asked a second thought as he turned to her.

Taking the box of spaghetti, Lacetta dumped it into the now boiling pot of water, and set off to looking for a spoon so that she could mix it every so often, as it was required when making pasta.

"Oh, I'd love spaghetti, I have no other preference. And besides that, I'd like to make something for you!"

She hadn't explained why, though she had gone through every moment of it in her head. Dein had helped her out so many times in her life, beyond this day with taking her home and taking care of her wound.

It was as though he was always there for him, and she felt so poorly for having not a clue as to how to repay him. The least that she could do was the small things, like cook him dinner and appreciate the things he gave her, like the spinning top, and always keeping them close.

PostSubject: Re: Time is the Longest Distance (Open)   Time is the Longest Distance (Open) - Page 3 EmptyWed Aug 07, 2013 4:24 am

(I'm terribly sorry! I seem to pop in and out of Dein's character randomly ^^" I think I'll be fine from here on out though!)

He smirked in a pleased manner as he watched her hands at work, his gaze occasionally fixating on the bandages around her arm, but mostly he just watched her prepare the meal. His thoughts went back to the kiss, of course, as she stepped away for a moment to grab something. If it had been his first, he'd never admit it, but it was definitely his first with Lacetta. Perhaps she would later feel displeased, for proving all the gossip was true, in a way. Though Dein was quite sure nothing beyond his power had forced him to do it; nothing could control him unless he allowed it (considering Aries, of course).

The only words she had for him afterwards had been an apology. It seemed to be instinct for her, as he'd heard her say it on a few separate occasions, so it gave little insight on how she felt about it. Sure, she may have felt the heat of the moment, but it didn't take anyone special for that. He wanted to know what she thought of him, even if it was the worst possible thing he could know. He could take the rejection- not knowing, on the other hand, was another matter.

His demeanor changed as another thought hit him. He could imagine the look on his angry father's face if he could see Dein now, and it made his smirk stretch farther across his face, as his gaze once again settled upon Lacetta. He wouldn't let her ignore him any longer. She may not have seen it that way, but the subtle avoidance of eye contact, and attempting to keep some form of distance between them (at least as Dein sees it), he could tell she didn't want to face him just yet. Maybe it was too soon for her to have processed any of it, but it wasn't like he could wait. He was on a vacuum tight schedule, and wanted to know now.

So he watched her, like a predator watched his next meal. Even as she came back, he still had that dark, infamous smirk of his. He remained in quiet observation, and even leaned forward to tug on her bandaging when she grew near, making sure it was on good enough. She couldn't ignore him forever, that he knew, and he wanted to see how she would behave in response to his mischievous string pulling.

PostSubject: Re: Time is the Longest Distance (Open)   Time is the Longest Distance (Open) - Page 3 EmptyWed Aug 07, 2013 12:04 pm

(Oh no, don't be sorry!)

At Dein's presence, Lacetta had smiled before turning and leaning over the boiling pot of pasta. Lacetta looked at it and thought that it was just about done. Grabbing the pot with one hand and lightly with her left hand, she lifted it off the stove and brought it over to the sink, where she, a little too heavily, dumped the water and pasta out into a strainer.

She had been quite the bit bothered by her arm, shocked every time that it didn't do something that she had wanted nor expected. It was such an odd feeling, and just as she passed by Dein to go to the fridge for some sauce, she caught the large smirk on his face. She didn't know very well how to react to that, so she had just smiled and continued to search through the fridge, until she came upon the sauce.

Once more she passed by him, now heading toward the pot that she had used for the pasta in order to warm up the sauce, and it was only then that she had noticed the tug, just like a child at the bottom of her skirt would do, asking for attention or having a question.

Looking at the bandages, now slightly loosened, and then up at Dein's smirking face, Lacetta had expected a question, her face showing the bit of a wide eyed look, though now she hadn't been sure if it were an accident, so she simply ignored it and began to plate their food.

"It'll be ready in just a moment!"

She smiled to herself as she was finishing up their meal, though was surprised to feel another tug. She was quite sure that there was something else, so now she fully turned to Dein, opposed to last time when she had just turned her head.

"Am I missing anything?"

He merely smiled, surprised she was as direct as she had been. He'd never seen this much out of her before, and wanted to know the extent of it. So he told her, "No?" as though he hadn't understood the question- better yet, as though he himself may have missed something. It was likely clear to her he meant otherwise, but while he had her curiosity, he'd hold on to it for as long as he could.

To make matters worse, he made no contribution to the conversation, only swapping from observing her cook, to looking at the decor, and the view through the window beside him. It was the trouble making side of him that had come out, a side that had been left unsatisfied after leaving Hogwarts. He enjoyed finding the things that really pushed people's buttons, and then continuously exploiting it. Typically, he only really did it when he needed to learn something, like he did now. Other times it was to encourage people towards a certain action, such as leaving him alone, or jumping off a cliff.

Of course, a button never did the same thing twice, otherwise Dein wouldn't find such pleasure in toying with people. Seeing what he could force out of people was the best part, and Lacetta was a mountain of hidden emotions waiting to be unfolded.

After hearing Dein's reply, Lacetta had looked around curiously. She had the pasta, and she had the sauce. Had she been missing anything? She seemed to be a bit lost now, as though she were in a dream and couldn't quite find her way out.

Suddenly it came to her when she recalled the shredded cheese that some liked to put on top. Lacetta herself never really used very much, but she had known a few to use it as though it were the last thing on earth. Now that she had everything, Lacetta plated the food and brought everything over to the small table, which she had then set before turning her gaze on Dein.

"Dinner's all ready now! Are you okay with sitting at the table or would you prefer elsewhere?"

She wasn't quite sure, but she had read books that told stories of families that ate together at the table, and others that would grab their food and split, or sit on a sofa or something like that.

Her dinners as a child though weren't always the same, her mother and father never even having much to eat for dinner and her new mama and papa making sure that everyone was seated before eating as a family. She had grown up in two households with two very different lifestyles, and both had stuck to her.

Now she was thinking about it, and a bit of a frown had entered her face, though she was quick to replace it. Her thoughts had drifted to her childhood eyes, though Lacetta knew that that wasn't always a good place to go, so she turned her attention back on Dein, a smile on her face.

He gave a light shrug as he took a seat at the table, and scooted his chair in a bit, "Here's fine." He'd been watching her carefully, and noticed the frown that had taken her lips, even if it hadn't lasted long. The less Dein seemed to speak, the more she seemed to sink back into her own world. He was more a ghost in her house than an actual living, breathing person. It seemed as though she just had too much going on in her head, and not enough seeped out.

He waited for her to sit down before he started on his plate, but even then, he spoke little, stole glances when he didn't think she was looking, and hid his smirks when something caught his amusement. Every now and then, however, he looked to the clock, thinking about his own things. The meeting with White's goons hadn't gone the way he had planned, so now he had to think differently. After he left here, he would track them down again, and tail them to see where they went. Typically, it would be risky to tail someone when he himself had little practice in the skill, but yet again, his natural-born abilities allowed him to speed things along.

Dein had little doubt that this was the reason Lestrange was taking interest in him. And the way she'd treated him, one would think he was a bright and shiny new toy. It only reminded him that he would have to step lightly when doing business with her, and he would be damned if he didn't make a good impression. The smirk on his face slowly fell at the thought, and the feeling he had while visiting Lacetta was falling apart. If Aries brought up anything about him being here, he would know for sure that she'd been keeping an eye on him. Of course, he was already taking an extent of precaution, intentionally avoiding looking at any important information- he hadn't even touched his journal since his meeting with Aries.

He took a bite of the spaghetti before he looked back up at Lacetta, curious as to how she might create a conversation, or perhaps she would just continue the silence, unchanged by the lack of words being exchanged. He was perfectly content with how things were going so far, and the longer things went on, the more curious, though patient, Dein became.

Smiling and nodding her head, Lacetta took a seat at the table as well, spinning the pasta on her fork. She never could eat very much, she wasn't sure why but her plates were always small or often left with a lot of food on them. Today though, she had felt even less of an appetite then she normally had.

Thinking back on earlier that day, although calmer she was now, it had still upset her greatly. Only hours ago she had lost a dear friend of hers, and it wasn't something that she, nor anyone, would be okay with only hours later.

The thought had been trapped in her mind, quite like a bird in a cage. She constantly heard every moment, repeating itself over and over, and seeing all of the faces, and the blood. It was not a very pretty memory.

For a while now Lacetta had been spinning her fork, though hadn't taken a single bite of her food. She herself hadn't realized it, but she just couldn't stomach it if she tried. Rather, she now set her fork down, still twirled with spaghetti, and looked up at Dein.

Now that she had looked at him, she had noticed that he had already looked at the clock twice. Surely he had somewhere else to be, somewhere more important, and she understood that quite well.

"If you must be elsewhere, you should go then. I understand!"

She placed a smile on her face as she spoke, where before she was going to ask him about his meal, but instead she assumed things that she probably shouldn't have, as she was always taught that assuming was bad.

Though, she hadn't wanted to keep him if he were expected elsewhere. It was kind of him to stay, however if he was meant to be at a certain place around this time, she would feel awful for having kept him.

If he didn't have the aching suspicion that this conversation wasn't private, perhaps Dein would have acted differently. But as paranoid as he was, Aries may as well have been sitting down sharing the meal with them. If he felt comfortable with her, he wouldn't have given up the free meal she had generously crafted for him. But now it was time to slip his mask back on. He hid a smirk with a dab of his napkin, before he spoke to her. "You're right. I must be making you feel uncomfortable. I forgot how women are." He said it, knowing his nonchalant manner mixed with his sharp under-handed tone would grant her silence. He hardly gave her a glance, as he tossed the napkin onto his plate, and rose from his chair with an abrupt screech of the chair legs.

"Nice house. I wouldn't stay much longer, they'll be having a murder investigation soon," his head turned away from her, towards the window as he spoke, "I don't advise getting caught up in it." He did little to censor himself for her sensitivity, but he did want her to get out of here; if muggles started asking her questions, it wouldn't be safe for either of them. But he was spitting out comments left and right, giving her little time to process or respond. He set a galleon down on the table, next to the hardly eaten plate of spaghetti, "Thanks for the meal," he spat as he walked out of the kitchen and towards the front door. He understood now why he and Lacetta had run into one another today. It was high time he made a decision, between blonde hair and blue eyes, and his future.

It was a no-brainer, of course, the decision had been made before he got up from the table. And he knew in his mind that he would make the same choice ten times over again. Eirina was right, after all: the farther he and Lacetta were from one another, the better. He remembered once a long time ago, his mother got him a little toy truck, and he threw it away because it was red instead of blue. He had to tell himself- convince himself- that throwing away Lacetta was as easy as that damned red truck. He gave no pause as he reached the door and turned the knob. When he pulled, the cool evening breeze rushed into his face, making a feeble attempt to push him back in. He stepped out, and before Lacetta could stop him, he shut the door, and walked away. When he wanted to look back, he looked at the Inn down the street instead, pausing for a moment before he turned down an alley and disapparated, leaving only the light crack in his wake, like that of a pen dropping. He would not rest until one day he held everything in the palm of his hands. He would own every secret, every bit of information this world had to offer, and it would be him that stood on top, not Aries Lestrange.

Having been very confused by his abrupt change in composure , Lacetta stood up just as Dein had. She placed her napkin down softly on table, confused and staring at Dein, who appeared to be avoiding her gaze. She was silent as she stood, matching him, until words came to her lips.

"That's not at all how I feel..."

Lacetta listened and bore through Dein's blunt brutality, her eyes watering as his words grew harsher and harsher. She watched as he so cruelly placed money and her table, and spat on her floor. He was every bit of change from earlier, having gone from helping her and kissing her to disrespecting her in the most deragatory manner.

"You're cruel..."

She hadnt known if he had heard her or not, for Dein had bolter toward and out the door in moments. He had tore her heart from her in a matter of hours, tears now falling down her face as she stared and picked up the money. She looked it over between her fingers, before dropping it to the floor and leaving it there.

She left the kitchen and made her way up to her room, where she collapsed into her bed and weeped for anything that she ever felt, even if for a moment. She tried to be kind and welcoming and she had been treated in a way she hadn't been treated before. Lacetta felt every bit of pain in every bit of her body, wishing only to sleep and find herself dreaming.

Though she knew that she wouldn't, and began to feel reality as a slip of any other world that she could live in. Unlike her, she had left the mess in the kitchen and refused to leave this house, her only memory left being here.
