Alyssa paced around the bell towers, wincing as each chime struck a note. Why was she even here anyway? She should be back in the common room, studying until she could get her grade back up. She had received her first P on a Care of Magical Creatures examination, and she wasn't sure what to do. Books didn't really help her at all in that class, and she wasn't good with animals besides birds. Maybe she could ask Professor Valenta for another chance or some extra credit? She could offer to feed the animals or clean the cages or something like that. Alyssa had NEVER failed a test before, and even though she didn't care about what the other students thought, she wanted a good job when she left Hogwarts. She went up to the bell towers because they were a) high up and there was some wind, b) there usually wasn't very many people there, and c) she just needed somewhere to fret where people wouldn't ask questions and she chose the first place she could find. The bell towers were somewhat close to the Ravenclaw Tower, so if she was found she would be able to make up some sort of excuse.

Mystery had sat at the top of the Bell Towers, tending her body to the shadows. It was here that she
received her freedom from those that she had fought with below. Her body was chained to the curse
of the Graces, and she had nothing that she could do to stop it. Suffering through, Mystery no longer
had that one person. Shadow was gone, her rock, her solid white rock was gone. She had but herself
and her pain, and so little of it was even her own.

The emotions had evaporated from her as she sat on her own, resting in the shadows that were
provided to her. Logically, Hogwarts was a safe place. Mystery could learn here the knowledge that
she needed to know in order to fully adapt to the world. This was the place that she was meant to
grow. But growing wasn't easy, not without her brother. Growing felt like she wasn't growing at all.

It was as though the waves had taken over her, the power to drag her down into the ocean's deep
abyss. There was no light that could reach such depths, and she would surely drown. Not a hand could
simply reach into the ocean to pull her out. No, Mystery was stuck in this ocean, on her own. There's
was no one to fight for her, and the chains did not allow her to fight for herself.

So where was she meant to be?

Alyssa noticed another girl who looked like she was living in hell. Deep shadows in her face, pained eyes, maybe there had been a death? She wondered if this girl was one of those vampires that she had heard about. Apparently one of them had died a little while ago. (Can u tell me what the circumstances are if it's okay?) She looked worse off than Alyssa with her horrid test score. Alyssa gently called out, "Is...is everything alright?"

(No it's totally fine! Your character wouldn't know this, but the Graces are vampires, firstly, and they're a large family. This is something that only the Grace's know, but each Grace comes with a curse of sorts, and Mystery's curse is that she feels the emotions of those around her. Her older brother, Shadow,'s curse is that he feels nothing. So they leaned on each other, in a way, because Shadow could make Mystery feel nothing, and Mystery could make Shadow feel something. Shadow isn't dead, he just graduated from Hogwarts last year and it'll be the first time that Mystery has ever been alone, so she's overwhelmed. Also, Mystery doesn't like to talk, so Alyssa could be under the belief that she's mute because that's surely a rumor. Also, when I RP using colors and such, that's my way of representing the emotions of those around Mystery)

Mystery could feel the presence of the girl near her. A deep seated blue had dripping in front of her
eyes, and Misty watched as each droplet penetrated her skin. It sat that, calmly, mockingly watching
her, until it shook, spreading, sinking, fading into her skin. Mystery could feel the diplets pop beneath
her skin, releasing fiery toxins into her body.

Doubt and panic surged through Mystery's mind and body, dragging her beyond the deep. Beyond what
any ocean could hold. It was more than just that, but almost as though she had been dropped too far.
Too far lost, too far gone. The pressure of ocean suffocated her, until her body would break. Quickly, and
in seconds, she could feel herself simply disappear, as nothing, in the nothing.

The girl had spoken, asking if Mystery had been alright. Though it wasn't reliable on how Mystery felt, it
was what she felt that didn't belong to her. Mystery felt as the girl had felt, and so there was nothing
that could be said to be wrong with Mystery. And so, in silence, she shook her head.

"Er, alright then." Alyssa resumed pacing for a moment, then stopped and turned to look at Mystery. She realized that the girl's problems were probably worse than hers and she was trying to be a good sport and cheerful. She took a seat cautiously next to the girl. Alyssa usually didn't talk too much, but she appeared to be making a lot of exceptions today. She asked, "So, anything interesting going on lately?" Maybe if the girl was more relaxed, Alyssa would be able to learn what was wrong and help her sort it out, or at least try the best she could. She took a deep breath and let go of the emotions she had felt after recieving the test score. She would have to focus completely and not be angry if she was going to try and help this girl. She was quite beautiful, and there was an odd quality to her skin, that unsettled Alyssa. She looked about Alyssa's age, but she wasn't sure.

Mystery flinched as the girl sat next to her, turning her head down. She was drowning as the once tear
drops of emotions turned into a hurricane of vibrant yellows whipped around, attempting to disguise the
currents of blues that hid behind it. Mystery shivered, a little, but it was far beyond her control. She had
no time to jump, no time to get away. She had been trapped in a cage that lingered around her,
tauntingly leaving spaces just big enough for her to reach out of, but not big enough for her to escape.

A shake of her head errupted Mystery's thoughts, her body now making decisions of its own as it
answered the girl without any words. It was to Mystery's comfort that she did not speak. If she spoke
then the words would not be her own, but belonging to the emotions of those around her. She didn't
have control on her speech, and so she sat, silently, wishing only to be alone, though not being able to
display that.

Vocally or Physically.

Hmm. Well, Alyssa wasn't sure what to make of that. She tried to calm down, not wanting to startle the other Ravenclaw. Suddenly, she remembered what was missing from her brain. The girl was a vampire! She had heard that some sister and brother vampires were coming to Hogwarts to learn and teach, and the potions master was one of them. She wasn't sure which one the girl sitting next to her was, but since all had special abilities, you had to be careful around them. Alyssa still wondered what had happened to the girl; obviously, something had.

(Sorry, I wasn't very clear! Alyssa wouldn't even know that they had special abilities, most of them are decently quiet about being vampires so most people/students would probably assume that they're like Dracula or Twilight or something)

A sense of quiet enveloped Mystery as she sat in her place. Still, unmoving, without a rise or fall even in
her chest. Her lips rested without a twitch, softly perked out and slightly open, as though there were to
be words that would simply fall from her face. But there were none to be spoken of, and none to be
heard. Mystery's words would remain in her head, soft and quiet, as she found comfort in finding the
one thing that could always be hers. She took possession of it.

If she were to have ever spoken, it would not be to this girl. The girl was unknown to Mystery, a quiet
flower that sat in the corner of the room, hidden behind the chairs and dust. She were not to know of
Mystery and what she kept, for it was her own, and hers alone. It would only be a shadow, her Shadow,
that could ever make something of her.
