Haven't seen you around... tag Alyssa

Alyssa rolled her eyes as she heard the Ravenclaw boy make some grand speech full of supposed wisdom to the Hufflepuff boy.  What on earth did he know about the world?  And the Hufflepuff's answers were way better than that Ravenclaw boy's! Talking as if he knew everything...Alyssa muttered something under her breath about stuck up rich people using their ...vocabulary...

Well, you could get better at riddles by thinking weird, but they'd still be hard... Jackson jumped when the boy clapped him on the shoulder, his left hand involuntarily tightening on his cane and his right hand going for his wand in his pocket.
"P-please don't d-do that." He let out a shaky breath.

(Sorry I have to go...you guys can keep rp'ing without me I'll try to get back on tomorrow.)

Jett felt the boy jump at his touch, recoiling. He immediately took his hand back and took a step away. People at this school sure were different than his previous one.

"I'm terribly sorry, I didn't mean to cause any alarm. Can I make it up to you in anyway?" Jett really hadn't intended to frighten the poor kid and he felt quite bad about it.

"I-it's okay." Jackson took a deep breath. "It's alright, you just startled me. No big deal." He smiled at the older boy. "I guess you couldn't tell. I'm blind, I had no idea you were going to do that. So, just, er, please don't like, touch me without telling me."

Oh, this boy was blind! Why hadn't Jett put two and two together and noticed that before? Now he felt ashamed at himself, partly for scaring Jackson but mostly because he had not been as attentive to details as he should have been. Jett promised himself it wouldn't happen again.

"Ah, well you sure don't seem it! I will be careful in the future. So, Jackson, tell me, how is this school? I've only just arrived and I'm afraid I don't know anyone or much about it. Is there anything I should know? I don't want to go and make a mistake like just now again."

"Er." Jackson thought. "Most of the kids are really nice. The professors, too. Professor Brown teaches potions, he's okay. Headmistress Naer teaches Charms, she doesn't hold class very often 'cause she's busy. The Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures professors are new this year. I think the old Herbology professor got sacked for goofing off with the Astrology professor during class. The old Divination professor got sacked for being a Death Eater. I Don't know if Professor Reid is around anymore, I think she taught Defense... A lot of professors don't hold class a lot 'cause they're busy. Also some professors aren't very old 'cause they're students who stayed to teach. Um, does that help?"

Jett listened carefully, storing the knowledge away for future use. Death eaters? Fooling around in class? What was wrong with this school! Did his parents really ship him off to somewhere that didn't seem to care much about a proper education? Well, he would have to deal with it. Maybe most of his time he would have to spend teaching himself in the library.

"Thank you, that does help quite a lot." Jett figured since it was still somewhat early he could continue his conversation with Jackson. It was good to get to know the people in school in case he ever ran into them again. "So despite how rare classes apparently are, which one do you enjoy the most?"

"Hmmm." Jackson thought over the classes he'd gone to. Potions was ok, but not his favorite. His last DADA class had just been reading. Astrology was okay when it wasn't being interrupted. "Probably Charms, 'cause we do magic instead of reading or stuff, and Naer doesn't let students get out of hand."

"Actually doing magic is a lot better than reading about it, you're right." Jett smiled down at the boy, forgetting for a moment that he couldn't see it. "I think it's about time for me to get to some work myself but I'm glad we met. Maybe I will see you around another time. If you ever need another riddle to practice, you know where to find them."

With that Jett approached the door, smoothly and confidently answered the riddle on the first try, and walked through into the Ravenclaw common room.

(Time to make dinner for me!)

"Bye." Jackson headed back down the corridor toward the Hufflepuff dormitories, glad to have helped the Ravenclaw boy.
