| Far Pass the rickety wooden bridge, beyond the Stone Circle, where the sundial garden can be found, in the thicket of trees just before entering the Forbidden Forest, Eleanie sat weeping into her jeans. All around her showed signs of breath taking beauty: The warm spring sun glisten over head greeting the patches of wild flowers that sprout up and blossom in the spring weather. A babbling broke flowed freely just beyond the treeline into where few have tread. All of this beauty and Eleanie saw none of it. Another muzzled moan escaped her.
It was just one of those days, Eleanie thought, that a girl just had to cry. The pressure of the last few weeks started to take its toll. The loud whispers of people gossiping behind her back. The vicious rumors and the horrid names they call her, bombarded her defenses until there was nothing but rubble. Today, the weight of the world just got to her and she needed to get away, far away, so she ran. She ran until she could not run no more. Her sides wore on fire as every time she gasp for a struggling breath. It felt like knives slowly digging into her lungs making it even more hard to take the next breath. Right where she stood, Eleanie collapsed and started to weep into her jeans, her arms cradle her knees as she slowly rocked back and forth. For hours she cried until now their was just a intake of air, or another low moan.

| Peacefully, Alena had entered the forest with a small smile on her face. She had grown up playing in the shrubbery and having fun in her small garden patch, but it was nothing compared to the beauty of a forest.
She had been just nearly skipping along, though not quite, as she moved about the forest, nearly forgetting her mission. A small group of, mostly boys, had told her that there was a Care of Magical Creatures class out this way, and that they were learning about the most gentle and beautiful animals.
The opportunity was one that she could hardly pass up, making her way in the direction that the one girl of the group had pointed in. The woods were becoming thicker now, and Alena was starting to wonder if she was going the wrong way.
She hadn't known that the boys were lying, she didn't know that they had just tricked her.

| Under the ancient pine tree, which creaked every time the wind rustle its branches, Eleanie sat motionless, still curled up in a tight little ball. She was as still as night air, and hardly made a peep. All her being, emotionally and physically, she had nothing left. All were washed away by the flood of her tears and excreted from her throbbing moans. What was left in her wake was an abyss of nothingness giving way to a dreary silence.
But the world is not so kind to let her drift off into the expanse of emptiness. At first Eleanie ignore the rustle, thinking it was the forest. But as she coaxed her head up, to listen to the sounds of the earth and her surroundings, she realized that it was someone or something coming toward her.
Was it, Eleanie contemplated. At first, she thought that the centaurs with their herds were approaching, but her thoughts immediately turn to the boys laughing as she ran off across the Court Yard into the Dark Forrest. The thought of them invading her sanctuary made her blood curdle, and her face, which was blotchy red from crying, turn crimson. She would get her revenge. Oh, yes.
As she tried to uncoil herself, her body screamed in pain. For hours she hardly moved an inch, and now they were forced to stretch, to bend and flecks under extreme protest. As she managed to get to her feet, her left leg still asleep, she stayed close to the trunk of the tree. Her wand already at hand, while with the other she used her green jacket to wipe away the crust of dry tears.
Eleanie would rather die, than let anyone she her in her most vulnerable state.

| "Hello? Is someone out there?"
A crackle of leaves had triggered Alena's attention, and a pang of fright was her rather quick reaction. But it was gone quickly, and Alena felt like she hadn't anything to worry about. If there was a class out here, it couldn't possibly be that dangerous, not dangerous enough that she should be scared!
That's how she built up the courage to call out. It could have been a student, too, or the entire class! It was rather quiet, but Alena was remaining optimistic about her situation. Surely she was getting closer to her destination, the boys couldn't have been wrong when they pointed her in the right direction.
"Is this the Care of Magical Creatures class?"
Traveling, both Alena's body and voice continued to move deeper into the woods, and if she didn't find somebody soon, she'd begin to forget how to get back to the castle before night fell.

| Eleanie caught herself in mid breath, hearing a voice calling out into the darkness. The light airy voice rang out into the gloom of the sinister forest, like a mouth to a flame. No one would be stupid enough to call out into the dark, seeing how someone or something would call back to them, something that goes bump in the night. Well, one person would seeing as how they continue coming into the midst of danger, and Eleanie wasn’t talking about the forest this time.
As she waited, still as a statue, the crumpling of leaves become louder and louder, until the girl, a brunet Hufflepuff, seeing as how her robes wore yellow and black, passed the pine tree oblivious to Eleanie’s presence. Eleanie moved with a light touch as she moved around the girth of the tree, taking care that she only tread on the roots of the tree, so she would not alert the girl to her presence.
Once Eleanie was behind the said girl, she made her presence known, as she lean carelessly against the tree, her wand still ever present in her hand. “I wouldn’t go any further, dearie.” Her voice deadly cold seeing as how the Hufflepuff was to blame for Eleanie’s peace being interrupted. “I heard a pack of wolves earlier. They seem hungry. Don’t want that pretty little face of yours to get torn off, now would we?” Eleanie’s personality was night and day. First, mourning her troubles away to this, a cynical, sadistic personality. “On second thought,” she tapped the tip of her wand against her chin as if contemplating an important matter. “It might improve your looks.”

| Upon hearing the girl's voice, Alena made a small jump that looked more like a hiccup. She turned her head around quickly, and her body soon followed. There was a girl before her, very pretty, but also very dark. She had dark hair and dark skin.
Alena heard everything that Eleanie had said, and no matter how offensive her words were, she just smiled as if they were never said. She wouldn't let them get her down.
"Oh, thank you, for the warning. Do you know if there's a Care of Magical Creatures class somewhere out here? Or am I mistaken?"
She wasn't sure if the girl would even answer her, but if not then Alena would simply make her way back. The girl seemed to want to be alone, if she hadn't then she would have been a little more inviting. Surely she just didn't want to be in the presence of others, and Alena wouldn't hold that against her.

| Eleanie could not fathom if this Hufflepuff was naïve or just stupid. She seemed to be both, as she beamed her toxic smile at Eleanie. She seemed out of place in these woods, as if she was the light in the midst of shadow. Everything about her screamed sunshine, and daisies; from her cheerful disposition down to her curls in her hair that framed her face, it was just too much for L.
Eleanie had a perfect opportunity to misdirect her deeper into the forest. It would be a cruel, cruel joke, and it would be something Eleanie would do, but if this meeting was any indication how stupid the Hufflepuff was, she would probably have walked up to a Giant spider, called it, “Mr. Spider,” and asked it for directions to the Care of Magical Creatures classroom, right before she was devoured by the beast. Eleanie did not want that on her conscious.
“No,” she said finally, debating on what she should ought to do next. Should she let the Hufflepuff girl wonder around by herself, or should she, L, accompany her back to Hogwarts? Both options sounded displeasing, but Eleanie decided it was time to return and exact her revenge on those boys. “Follow me,” she said turning the opposite direction, where the Hufflepuff just came from. She did not bother to turn around to see if the girl was following her; if the Hufflepuff chose otherwise, than that would be on her, not on L’s conscious. Quite frankly, she would have preferred her not to follow.

| With a smile on her face, Alena nodded and quickly trailed behind the girl. She had though that she was going to show her to the Care of Magical Creatures classroom, but perhaps not. Alena didn't know where else the girl would take her, though.
There was a moment of silence as Alena debated on whether or not she should talk. But walking in silence was ever so strange, and a tad awkward, so she felt that perhaps she could brighten the mood, even if just for herself.
"My name's Alena, I'm a first year, so I'm kind of new to this..."
She trailed off, trying to think of what else she could say, knowing that in order to have a conversation, you have to invite the other person in. And it was quick to click as she spoke once more.
"Thank you so much for helping me, I really do appreciate it! What's your name? That way I can thank you properly."
Alena began to make her way to the girl's side, opposed to trailing behind her. She was holding a conversation, so she had wanted to be able to see the girl, but secretly Alena was also nervous that she's accidentally step on the girl's heels, and many people didn't like that very much.

| Eleanie marched at an even pace. Her long deep green cloak brushed the ground, trailing over fallen leaves and branches a like. She moved with a precision of an experience hiker. It wasn’t because she immersed herself in nature, exploring the mysterious depths, but because she had traversed this path on numerous of occasions.
On the other hand, the Hufflepuff was a bull in a china shop. Every step was heavy and clunky. Eleanie would to go as far to say she deliberately stepped on every leaf and stick, alerting unknown creatures to their location. On top of that, she was a talker to boot. Was it too much too asked to walk in complete silence? The Hufflepuff’s droning voice went on deaf ears, as they both proceeded out of the outskirts of the forest. When her voice trailed off into silence, Eleanie thought it was the end of the conversation, but she was sadly mistaken. “The names L, Alice,” Eleanie said, forgetting the girl’s name already, but referencing Lewis Carroll’s book, Alice in Wonderland. Alice fit the Hufflepuff’s persona and situation perfectly. An airhead girl stumbles into a new land, and is led into danger by mischievous characters, while following her white rabbit, in this case the Care of Magical Creature class.
Now Alice was marching in tune beside Eleanie. She wanted so bad to ignore her presence, but even that seemed abnormally loud, and hardly could not be so easily ignored. She had a bright cheeriness about her that darken Eleanie’s mood, as if there is an adverse effect correlating to her own mood to that of Alice’s.

| "Thank you, L, it's very nice to meet you!"
Alena had an odd bit of politeness about her. Her parents had always taught her goods manners, and had told her to be respectful of anyone, younger and older and even those beyond their wits and rude.
The girl, L, had said her name wrong, though Alena hardly minded. It was rather okay, for she'd learn it or not, and she hadn't wanted to be rude and correct her. She may have, if it were more times ahead, though she hadn't known if she'd meet her acquaintance any further then today.
"What year are you in?"
The girl had been quite tall, and beautiful, and had appeared to be a lot older then Alena herself. Perhaps older then Lucien, seeing that he had looked old for his age, and now she looked just as old.

| At first the clearing became thicker and thicker with trees, seeing as how the forest overlapped on itself. The branches overhead blocked out almost all light, but few rays filter through the leaves giving the surrounding area kaleidoscope effect. Once again Eleanie was lost in her own thoughts mesmerized by her surroundings.
“4th year,” Eleanie commented, not bothering to ask what year she was in. It was obvious how dim she was. She was an itsy bitsy firstie, trying to be a Big Girl living on her own for the first time. Why she wanted to go to Care of Magical Creatures class was unknowing to Eleanie, seeing as how that class was year 3-7. Eleanie did not ask. She really did not care.
Eleanie picked up her paced seeing the trees once more started to thin out. In the distance she could see the tops of Hogwarts towers but the castle was ways away. The faster she moved the less time she had to spend with Alice.

| "Wow, you look so mature and too pretty to be a 4th year!"
Alena did her best to phrase what she was saying as a compliment, for she had meant it quite well, though she hadn't wanted to be strange about it. The girl surely was pretty, dark coloring and all, Alena hardly pictured her as a 4th year.
The castle seemed to grow in the distance, and an excited smile crossed Alena's face.
"Oh, I can see the castle!"
It seemed so small from out here, but Alena knew that when she stood under the castle it was one of the biggest things that she had ever seen, greater then the skyscrapers!

| Alice’s kind words were a blatant façade of pleasantries. Eleanie could not bring herself to believe this girl was genuine, even though nothing in the girl’s actions stated otherwise. Eleanie just chalked Alice’s nicety as the girl was searching for a compliment in return, which Eleanie had none. Only bitter remarks that she kept to herself for no apparent reason other than she was saving it for the boys who taunted her.
She tried to hold her tongue, but she could not help herself. “The sky is BLUE!?!” Eleanie mimicked Alice’s excitement at pointing out the obvious. It was as if Eleanie was dealing with a two year old excited over trivial normities. Was Alice that certain that she would not find her way back to the castle, that when she did she squeal like a piglet?
Her question laid unasked hearing voices to the left of them. They, Alice and Eleanie, had just reach the boarder of the Forbidden Forest and the grounds of Hogwarts, seeing the flat grass plains lead up to Hogwarts’ castle, where voices could be heard just out of sight of Eleanie.
“That bumbling idiot,” A young male student said over the roaring laughter of two others. “She actually believed us that…” What he said was drowned out by fits of hysteria. Instead of making their presence known, Eleanie caught Alice by the mouth holding it tight. With the other hand she placed a finger against her lips, gesturing to remain silent. Alice was not one for stealth, but the way the imbeciles were laughing, she doubt they would hear Alice’s heavy footfalls as they snuck closer to get a better look.

| Alena paid no mind to the way that the girl had mimicked her. It was just her way to go about things, and Alena was sure that it meant that the girl was insecure. That's what she had grown up learning in the muggle world, and she was certain that it was no different here.
Her breath caught quite harshly in her throat at Eleanie's palm over her lips, shocked at the motion and not understanding why she had to be quiet.
Alena remained quiet though, not seeing any reason for her not to. The castle had been close, so she was sure it wasn't dangerous, and she was rather certain that there wasn't any cause for Alena to be alarmed and cautious that Eleanie would hurt her.
She hadn't even heard the boys, so engrossed in her thoughts as she were.

| Eleanie heart raced as she crept closer to the voices just beyond the thicket of trees. Even when she was near enough to hear the voices more clearly, they were still lost from view by an over barren shrubbery. Finally, as Eleanie kneel in the soft wet dirt, she let Alice go, more focus on the visitors than trying to keep the little firstie quiet. Most of the time they just howled in a fit of laughter but snippets of the conversation shines through the haze of mumbles and slurs. “That girl! She is probably crying for her mommy.” Another chimed in with a girlish squeal, “Help me. Please! I just wanna see the unicorns. Waaah!!!” All three of them roared with laughter.
Were they talking about Alice? Eleanie said nothing but look at the Hufflepuff girl kneeling before her.

| Alena was thankful when Eleanie had let her go, rather preferring to be able to breathe without a worry of the hand that had been over her mouth. Taking a deep breath, she then followed Eleanie’s stare toward the boys, and listened to what they were saying. It was clear that they had been speaking ill of her, and although it had upset Alena quite some bit, she did her best to not let it get to her. Her eyes displayed her feelings like clear water, but she didn’t let herself cry. She was a big girl now, after all. Gathering up what bit of courage she had, Alena put on whatever tough face she could muster. “Thank you so much for helping me, I appreciate is very much! I can go the rest of the way on my own though, I don’t want to bother you for too much longer. Thanks again!”
Alena smiled now, giving a wave to Eleanie as she started to make her way toward the castle, step by step, making her way toward the shaded areas whenever possible.

| Alice’s spirit was shatter. The exuberant light that she radiated off just moments ago faltered to a dim, dying candlelight glow. Eleanie stayed put where she was, watching as Alice got to her feet and walked off, probably to go cry herself. Conflicting emotions risen to the forefront of her being, but it the end she concluded that cruelty defines us, shapes us. If Alice could not handle such things, she would not make it in this world.
“What do we have here?”
Eleanie was not paying attention to the boys anymore, and was caught off guard when all three came out of the bush to see who was making all that noise. “Well. Well. Well.” One of them said taking a hold of Eleanie’s arm before she had time to react and pulling her out from the underbrush and into the center of the clearing. “If it isn’t the cry baby.”
It was them! Her anger multiply by ten folds. They were the ones speaking ill of her, forcing her to run into the forest. They were the ones who made Eleanie feel like shit, forcing her to cry for hours alone in the forest. Her shade of pink around her noise and face from the long walk turn to crimson as another boy tugged at her clothing. She wasn’t listening to what he was prattling on about.
The last thing the first boy, the one who still had a vice grip around his arm, said was “And look! She was with the girl who wants to suck on mamma’s tit.” He pointed to the direction of Alice, who was ways away now and out of ear shot, but still visible through the trees.

| Every fiber of her being screamed for vengeance, she would not deny herself any longer as she withdrew her wand with her free hand giving the boy a nice douse of a hurling hex point blank at the boy. He crashed into the hedges. Another spell escaped her lips this time towards the boy who was tugging at Eleanie’s green coat. It was a nasty boil charm that oozed out painful green slim. It covered his face and hands, and he whimpered in pain before he too was sent off by another hurling hex.
The third and final boy was ready with his wand out. His juvenile grin was replaced by a scowl, and he spat at curses that were colorful and downright degrading, but it only fueled her fire even more. They both sent out spell after spell, each of them missing each other by inches. A nice scorch mark appeared on the brim of her cloak by an impressive incendio charm. But as her clock smoldered, black smoke rising from the tips of her cloak, he was left open. “Carpe Retractum!”
A spiral of orange light shot out of Eleanie’s wand coiling itself around the boy’s wand arm. She pulled with all her might sending him into a trunk of a tree. The crash was painful to watch, but seeing as the boy rolled over, moaning, Eleanie had no sympathy for him or the pain she caused. She approached the boy who was still dazed by the assault, emerging trumpet and mostly unscathed. Her anger did not dissipate as she stood over the boy, who looked onto Eleanie with fear in his eyes. She grabbed him by his robes, forcefully slamming him against the tree trunk once more. His yelp pierced the evening sky, but she ignored his pain, holding him very still.
“You will not repeat a word of this to anyone, you got that?” The boy looked ready to wet himself, but when no response came, she took the initiative to slam him again into the trunk. “Yes! Yes! PLEASE STOP,” He whined, but Eleanie wasn’t satisfied with his promise, so she made it very clear what would happen to them if they had loose lips.
“If you do tell anyone I will simply tell them what you did to poor, poor Alice, tricking her into the forbidden forest like that. You would be expelled so fast your head will spin.” She let him go but not before slamming him one last time into the trunk of the tree to hear him scream once more. Her vengeance sated, she turn around and made her way to the castle humming to herself as she went along.
