Roleplay of Boredom (Tag: Aries)

Madison had been sitting at a table in the back, a wine glass in her hand, and a book on the table. She only occasionally took a sip of the rich wine, wanting to make it last. She flipped through the pages of her book, skimming the lines, but not truly reading. Eventually, she gave up, losing her patience for the book she had read a hundred times over, and she glanced out the window.

She had hoped she could keep an eye on the Inn's staff and keep an out for Aidan. No one from the Order had heard from him since the incident with the Ministry, but where could he have gone? Did the Ministry decide to... well, end him? Madison just couldn't figure it out. And of course the Order had no interest in finding him. She sighed, running a hand through her raven black hair.

*Aries found herself gracing her benevolent presents down a deserted Hogsmeade street. The chill of the air coiled around her as if Boreas, the Greek god of the northern winds, tried and fail deterring her from entering this enchanted village. Her gracing this village was not only out of pleasure of sorts, a coy smile gracing her lips at the thought, remembering the throws of passion, but also on a errand. In the throws of the climax with every fiber of her being was heighten in euphoric pleasure, her knife slide easily through the man's ribs, piercing the heart of her lover. Sorry to say, another person will be added to the ever growing list of missing persons.

No sense of staying around the scene, she took her leave into the night finding herself traveling near the famous Three Broomsticks. Drawn to it like heat to the cold, she found the place full of what of course drunkards. Her disgust did not perturb her neutral stare, perfecting over the years as Death's Mistress. She made no attempts to acknowledged the hoots, and hollers of the baboons. One grabbed her radiant black dress tugging at it as he made suggestive passes at her. With the quick reflexives she grabbed the wrist and twist until she heard a pop, and the man whimpering in pain.*

"I will like the Dream's of Midnight."

*She was talking toward the woman bartender, still twisting the man's wrist until he begged her to let go. She oblige not needing another death on her hands at them moment, as she scanned the room for a free seat away from the filth that accumulated after hearing the other owner mysterious vanishing. Seeing a free seat back at the from of the Inn she stepped forth.*

"Is this seat taken?"

*she asked, giving a false smile at the lone woman drinking wine alone.*

Madison's gaze pulled away from the window as a man whimpered, and she saw a woman holding the man's wrist as he bent over in pain. Had she dislocated a bone? There did seem to be a strange lump protruding from his wrist. She watched as the woman made her way to the bar, and then, to Madison's surprise, to her. Now that she was up close, it took but a mere moment for Madison to recognize the Headmistress of Durmstrang, Aries Lestrange. She gave a curt nod, as she closed her book.

"No, not at all. It is a pleasure, Headmistress Lestrange." She replied as she gestured to the chair, then took another minor sip of wine, and gazed back out the window.

Why Aries Lestrange was in Hogsmeade, Madison could not say, but she certainly didn't feel the need to ask. She was sure that whatever it was, it was the Headmistress's business and not hers.

*Aries pulled the seat out just enough so she could slide in, situating herself to be on the furthest end of the table also having a scenic view of the barren streets of Hogsmeade. The streetlights flickering ever so slightly in the distance, snow accumulated on the streets and no one seems around this late hour. Glancing back at her patron sitting across from her, Aries took a few moments to studied her, to place her in her memories. It took her a minute but her lips spread into a genuine smile, indeed.*

"Why so serious, Ms. Reid?"

Well there goes any hope of not being recognized. She wasn't particularly surprised that the Headmistress of Lestrange figured it out so quickly, but still. Madison would have preferred otherwise.

"Force of habit, I suppose?" She answered, then glanced to her, "Enjoying your visit to Hogsmeade?" She asked a bit more conversationally as she set down her glass on the table.

*At the moment the bartender carefully set the Dreams of Midnight drink at the corner of the table, stricken to death with fear if she dropped a single drop of the Headmistress' drinking seeing as how the Bartender and half of the gathering body saw her broke the wrist of the drunken idiot.*

"Thank you. You may leave."

*She said as if she was in the halls of Durmstrang, dismissing her fellow students or professors. The bartender nodded her head in agreement and scurried back to the unattended bar. She took the glass and held it up to the candle light. The liquid was blacker than the new moon at midnight, but held it up to the light small flecks of silver and gold covered the night sky in her simple drink.*

"Habits? What is a habit but just the act of repeatedly doing an act over and over again. Someone like you or I would get bored of such matters. Don't you agree?"

*She said hinting at something far more illusive than the wind, as she took a drink of her black liquor.*

"I am drawn to the warm weather here. As you know Durmstrang in the winter time can be blistering frigid."

It was far from warm this time of year, but then again, it was much colder in Bulgaria. "Depends on what you mean." She trailed off, observing Lestrange for a moment. What she meant, however, could be many many things.

So, Madison drew her gaze elsewhere, looking to the man with the broken wrist, as he just stepped out of the bar, probably to go get his wrist mended. Poor thing, she thought sarcastically.

No, she didn't know Lestrange very well, and could already tell there was more to her than just a Headmistress to Durmstrang. Sure, that alone was quite the title, but she had stricken fear into many in the room already, simply because a man decided to do something stupid, and got what he deserved.

*Aries saw Madison go to one emotion to another just as easily as flipping to another page in a book. First withdrawn and serious, to a light hearted chat, to one of calculated than that to a note of admirance.

It was her turn to gossip while probing for information.*

"What of magic? Do you keep up with the sames spells over and over again, or have you moved on?"

If it hadn't been for the phrase 'moved on', Madison would have thought little of it. But, seeing as how Aries's choice of words had rubbed her the wrong, she smiled, crossed her legs and picked up her wine glass again, "I'm creative when need be." But her smile was far from sincere.

She then took a sip from her wine, swallowed, and then added, "Course I can't think of any need for such things, I am, but a lowly History Professor, after all."

*Aries followed suit in taking another small sip of her cosmic drink. The concoction sent waves of tingling all across her arms reaching down to her toes. It was a price you pay for one of the more exotic drinks.*

"A Lowly History Professor, who has a knack of being scene in peculiar situations, and whispered about in certain groups."

*Luxante had several run ins with Madison, the good samaritan protector of the innocent, weak and feeble. The first run in she was cordially invited to stay at of the now ex Dark Lord homestead. Whispers of her deeds of escaping reach the ears of none other than Aries herself adding more information to the few Professors under Eirina's command that hold any worth in her eyes.*

"A knack indeed." She said, growing more quiet as she glanced around the room. So even the Headmistress of Durmstrang couldn't leave it be. Madison really had to stop going out in public. Just what did this woman want? Admittance to being a horrible professor? No, Madison didn't think so.

Course it was Madison's fault for bringing it up to begin with. Then again, "You must not be talking about the Ministry, seeing as how they feel no need to whisper, as you say. So, you can only be speaking of less... publicized groups."

She smiled, "But that couldn't be true, now could it?" She didn't say it, but how could Lestrange know anything about groups other than that Ministry. But if not the Order, then...

*Aries could see it in those dissolute brown eyes of Madison that she came to a conclusion rather quickly and most accurately, but what trivial matters putting people in such categories as the Order and the Death Eaters, Good and Evil, pure and corrupt. Sitting on the other side of Aries was a prime example of contradiction in terms, corrupt goodness.*

"Quite, right."

*She answered truthfully, being part of society.*

"I am involve many organizations you can't particularly fathom. Some are secret societies for instance the Witches Coven, where the elite of the elite witches of today path the way for the better tomorrow, Merlin's first and Second class wizarding award also the Headmasters/Headmistress league, where all the elites wizards and witches go golfing every sunday."

*The last one she was patronizing her just out of sheer enjoyment at her quick conclusions.*

She paused for a split second. "Certainly you do not have to prove yourself to anyone but you, Headmistress Lestrange." She replied simply as she took another sip of her wine. It was difficult, remaining indifferent as the woman across from her patronized her, but remaining calm had its advantages. Why would she have to say any of this to Madison? And to add on that last bit of juicy information only made it less believable to her.

But she said nothing more of it, no matter whether she wanted to or not.
