Characteristics:

PERSONALITY: It's nothing short of colorful, Carling's personality. She's loud, dismissive, and doesn't give a shit about what people think of her. She likes to keep things rolling, never frequenting one bar too many times, and not sticking to one man or another once she's grown bored of them. She hates anything dull, so she makes certain that wherever she decides to prance, there is absolutely no such thing. She parties, she riots, and on many levels, she plays.

She has rare moments when her magic actually does something useful, so she conceals the considerable lack of skill as best as she can. Given her muggleborn status, and the bit of bad blood she has between herself and the usual stuck up purebloods, wizards make her... uncomfortable. And when she's uncomfortable, she want to by make them uncomfortable. She speaks very sexually, and she smiles when people get nervous about it. She takes advantage of their insecurities, and in doing so, feels quite the bit of power over them. It's like they're putty in her hands.

The people that she doesn't make uncomfortable, however, are rather interesting to her. She's drawn to the people who aren't effected by her ill-mannered behavior, because so few people aren't. Typically this curiosity could tend to bite her in the ass, but then again, Carling had never really been one to count the odds against her- she's such a sucker for gambling.

LIKES: Adrenaline Rush, having the upper hand or a card up her sleeve, expensive trinkets, some strong male company, and the good ol' rubber tire smell of an auto shop.

DISLIKES: Stuck up purebloods, the feeling of disappointment, or anything that feels like a chore.

FEARS: Her biggest fear is what might happen when she's got a wand to her throat. She's had to deal with it before, of course, so she won't break down that easily, but it sure gets her attention.

HISTORY:

Carling Farren Wright, born June 25th, 2084. The second of four children in her family. Her father, Mason Wright, is a simple muggle who works as a clerk for a hotel not far from the neighborhood. Her mother, Harriett Wright is and has been a stay at home mother since they had their fourth child. The eldest of the Wright siblings is Noah Wright, two years older than Carling. Then after Carling four years later, came Jacki, and then another two years came Troy.

Being so close in age, Carling and Noah had always been tight, even at a young age. As they became older, they became more and more mischievous; from eavesdropping on grownup conversations at home, to causing trouble at school. They were probably the most frequent visitors in the principal's office. Because they stuck so close, despite the age difference and separation of grade levels, they had little other friends, and they unconsciously distanced themselves from other students their age. Back home, there was little sign of struggle until Jacki was born, and their parents were supporting three kids instead of two. It started with Jacki getting old hand-me downs from Carling, and then from there it went downhill. With only their father working, and at a hotel no less, there was little support to the family. Noah was 11, Carling 9, and Jacki 5. One night Noah and Carling overheard their parents arguing about money, and at that point, they decided they needed to take matters into their own hands, and make everyone happy again.

It started out innocent, sneaking snacks out of the grocery store, stashing second helpings of lunch at school, but about a year later they were caught shoplifting at the mall. It wasn't something they had even planned to do but Carling had been staring longingly into a jewelry store window. Noah warned her that they weren't ready for that kind of haul, but that was the first time Carling had ever showed any sign of magic. The jewelry slid down, like water, off its stand and straight through the glass- into Carling's hand. Neither of them could believe their eyes, but Noah told her to try it again- that's how they got caught. Noah was detained, in mall security, while Carling barely got away. Escaping was something she had been getting really good at. She's a fast runner and a good climber. Sadly though, her brother could not say the same. He was always the planner, but after getting caught and having a serious talking to from their parents, he, along with Carling, became more reluctant to do it again, and even more so hesitant to ever talk about how they had gotten a hold of the first necklace. It was the only one they were able to keep, since Carling made off with it and later Noah took it and sold it one way or the other.
It was around the age of 11, that Carling started to notice a bit of a change in Noah's behavior. He started coming home late with their father, neither of them stating where they had been, or why they were so late. Both Carling and her mother worried about it, though her mother was concerned for their safety, while Carling felt more so betrayed that Noah was keeping secrets from her.

He almost worked up the courage to tell her everything he and their father had been doing, but then a strange letter showed up in the mail, addressed to Carling, from a place called Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents thought it was a load of crap at first, but then Noah spoke up for Carling, telling them the strange things he'd seen her do. He started to regret this later on, and grew jealous of Carling's special magic and her special school. They hardly spoke for a few years.

Carling did not grow up having much of a fond opinion of witches and wizards in general, partly because she was sorted into Slytherin, and had to put up with abuse from pureblood snots throughout her years at Hogwarts. She probably would have made a lot of friends if she were in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, which is what she sometimes wished she would have been sorted into. But she does fit the role of Slytherin, make no mistake about that. Aside from her family, she thinks only for herself and how to achieve her goals. There are only two strict morals she gained from being raised in the Wright family. One, never betray your family, and two, never breaks the promises you make. Promises, however are hard to come by, when speaking of Carling.

Carling's opinion of purebloods became stone cold and difficult to change at the turning point of her 5th year. Her brother had fallen ill during this year, and while she was dealing with the stress of that, the pureblood snots on school grounds were unrelenting. When Noah died at the end of that year, the pain and sorrow she felt turned quickly to anger and malice towards purebloods. She had to blame, so she lashed out at her classmates. Whenever they provoked her, she'd exact her revenge, and although she had a few fights (where she lost) most of the things she did to them went unnoticed. She learned that since she is not a strong witch, she had to rely on her cleverness and wit to get through things. Shortly after graduating, she returned home to take care of her family, and has done so ever since. She'd do anything for Jacki and Troy, but is particularly protective over Troy.

In school, she only received three O.W.L.s, for Charms, which was Acceptable, Herbology, which was Outstanding, and Care of Magical Creatures, which was Exceeds Expectations. She did not even take any N.E.W.T. exams.

Other Characters: Madison Reid, Dein Edrins, Emma Hawkwood, Shadow Grace, and Lorena Slenvaul.
