Room 1D: Broken bones

Hospital Room

Cazz was in the bed laying there chest moving up and down slowly. A white bandage was wrapped around her head, the left side slightly stained with red while the doctor looked at Vanity watching him closely as he wrote down on the chart.

"So... your tell me... Mr. Novario that she thought she could fly.... and you did what again?" He tapped his pen on the top of the chart.

Vanity shifted awkwardly on the spot, feeling hot under the collar and looking fairly flushed. "Well, I, uh- well, you have to understand-- see, it's not so much something I did too her, as it is something I did for her." He avoided eye contact, fiddling with his tie. "I, uh, just, uh...Gave her a little nudge, s'all."

"...Ah...Yes...Well...Luke would want to know about this, I'spose." He murmured, fidgeting awkwardly and shifting his weight from foot to foot.

"I do suggest then that you tell him as soon as possibly. We are not really sure what will happen when she wakes up... though it may help to have as many familiar faces around her as possible." He closed the the clip board looking up at him one last time before putting the clip board back at the end of the bed turning to the door giving the Vanity a pat on the back before walking out the room.

Cazz laid there unmoving, unknowing of what was going on really. She was pretty much a vegetable.

"...I don't wanna tell him." He whined after the doctor, before grumbling and shaking his head. "...He's gonna kill me."

"Your the one who pushed her off the cliff your the one that's gotta tell her crazy boyfriend that you pushed her off the cliff." He continued to walk having other things to deal with at the moment.

( just right now? I don't have the phone up here. Also, I fell asleep real early last few nights-- been getting sick. )

He grumbled quietly, before shaking his head. "...I'll do the adult thing, I guess." He let out a begrudging groan and head out to find him.

Vanity let the owl out of the window with the note attached to it's leg. Sure, calling would have been easier, but this was more fun.
And had a long delay.

A few hours later...

Luke bypassed the front counter. They had seen him enough times to know or assume who he was going to see, and did not bother him with questions, or signing forms. Instead he took the flight of stairs to the next floor, where Vanity's letter which sounded cryptic but urgent, said to meet.

"Excuse me," Luke said sternly to a Healer Novice who got in his way with his cart of specimen jars. The guy muttered his sorry, but Luke was already on the move not stopping for a reply. At a distance you could tell even by a glance that Luke was a little on edge. Angry? yes. Stressed? Most definitely. Scared? a slither, hardly noticeable underneath his bruiting face.

Spotting Vanity in the hallway, he did not bother with pleasantries. He out right blatantly said, grabbing Vanty's t-shirt, and pulling him an inch from Luke's face, "If this is one of your crack pot jocks, Vanity. It is not funny and I will kill you." Luke, being a practical joker himself, knew Vanity would stoop to this level. Once he founds out the truth though he would surely kill Vanity. Luke himself crossed the line of pranks once or twice, but at this moment he wasn't playing any games.

His free hand he crumpled up the already squish letter , and dropped it at Vanity's feet.

(lol Vanity. Just have to put you on edge. Read some of your earlier post and you seem a little scared of Luke. )

Vanity choked on his words, his body tensing and his eye squeezing shut, waiting for the punch that would surely come. His eyes hesitantly opened after no punch came and he attempted to shy away from the other, though Luke's hand kept him steady. The initial instinct of fight or flight kicked in and, considering there was no ability to take the flight option, his body was already gearing up for fight.
Still, he kept himself steady- Luke's reaction was understandable, he was angry, scared- and Vanity was the best person to blame.

He continued to try and arch away from the man, face several shades paler than normal. "I-I, uh--" Words were lost on him.

( I think it's not so much telling Luke that he fucked up his fiance, it's more the idea that he has to tell someone that he fucked up their fiance xD )

His adams apple bobbed erratically in his throat s the other's face hardened, he felt caged, trapped. His immediate reaction was to say "it's all a joke", sure it was a lie, but it'd keep him from ending up in the same state as Cazz. He kept his gaze down, the muscles in his jaws clenching and unclenching in time with bouncing of his trachea. "She told me... I-I didn't mean to..."

Vanity finally forced himself to make eye contact with Luke, his pupils retracting to nothing more than pinpricks, showing the fear that he was trying to desperately to repress. "...I pushed her." His words were low, inaudible and his lips didnt move as he spoke.

Mary hurried up to the boys.
"Is she alright?" She asked, pushing through the Healers and into Luke's face.

There was an uncomfortably long silence that passed, the air thick with tension. He swallowed quietly, before letting out a small mutter of "...off a cliff." At that moment Vanity had a vision, his future flashed before his eyes.
And there was nothing.
