Personality: Having been raised in a prosperous household, Gale grew up with a certain air of pride about himself, something similar to how pureblood witches and wizards might hold themselves. He stands strongly by his beliefs, but is, in fact, quite laid back, if somewhat reserved.
Likes: Because of his strict upbringing, Gale acts almost the complete opposite from what he likes. Lacking in imagination, Gale likes pretty much everyone who has plenty of it. He is intrigued by and attracted to the childlike mind, and is usually ready for a laugh, even if it is at his expense.
Dislikes: Overanalysing, seriousness, order and much more of the similar type – like a good hypocrite, Gale is not so fond of the mentioned personality traits. Needless to say, he bears the need for all of them and acts them out perfectly whenever his OCD surfaces.
Fears: Acrophobia – fear of heights.

Having first enrolled at a magical institution when he was twelve years old, the transfer to a different school came as quite a bit of a change – the Salem Witches’ Institute had only six years of education to offer, whereas Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had seven. It was only all the more troublesome that Gale had to transfer in his final year – it would have been his sixth there, but would be his seventh at Hogwarts, and he was just a bit worried that he would either miss something important or have to learn something he already knew. Of course, while the prior would certainly be a bigger problem, Gale just couldn’t bear the thought of sitting another year through History of Magic.

He was never a bad student, though. The mere fact that he was a muggleborn made him want to learn as much as he could, even if some subjects just didn’t sit well with him. He was all right in most classes, better in others, but overall an average student. He kept his O’s in Herbology, DADA and COMC, stuck with E’s in subjects like Transfiguration and Astronomy, even had a solid A in HOM and Charms. The only thing that ever gave him headaches was Potions. Not even a Quod exploding in his face was quite as bad as some of the explosions Gale caused mixing the wrong ingredients or leaving the potion to boil too hot, or casting a spell to finish off the potion at the wrong moment.

Speaking of Quods, Gale rather liked Quodpot. He was even a bit disappointed when he learned they only played Quidditch at Hogwarts.

What rang familiar was the sorting into Houses, and Gale wondered in which House he’d end up in Hogwarts. He still had his Ring of Choice, still wore it proudly. The ring was something every student received upon their arrival to the Institute – when one put it on, it turned to mock one of the four House colours. Gale’s ring was gold, the colour of House of Young. Based on that and the virtues those of the House of Young were supposed to have, Gale guessed he might end up in Gryffindor.
