Characteristics:

PERSONALITY: Though Lorena was a former Gryffindor student, she contains many streaks of Ravenclaw in her, from her wits to her clever tricks. She has an affinity for paying close attention to the finer details of a project. She aims for perfection, which is what helped her excel in Potions, which was her best class, despite how little she uses the skill now. Her Gryffindor traits, however, includes her courage to argue when she 'knows' people are wrong, and she absolutely hates the term 'mudblood', and she generally lends a sympathetic ear. She also has a slight superiority complex, specifically with the opposite gender and she's been an extremely ambitious person since birth. When given the chance, she will take charge, and she may prove to be a tad outspoken, due to her spoiled upbringing. At work, she keeps a professional attitude, and therefore worries much about her appearance- a full-fledge workaholic. She doesn't necessarily believe every word of the elite members of the ministry. Let's just say her obedience... it is not a blind one. Unfortuantely, she is still a young, somewhat naive lady, who currently only seeks the approval of her family. She has an innocent approval on heroic acts.

LIKES: Details, Intellectual Subject Matter, The Feel of Newsprint, Documenting Important Events, Investigating.

DISLIKES: Animals, Spiders, Unhealthy Habits as far as Food, Extreme Temperatures both Hot and Cold, the Nickname 'Lorrie', people who think they're better than anybody else, and discrimination against gender or any other group or minority such as muggleborns or halfbreeds.

FEARS: Humiliation, Disappointing Her Parents.

HISTORY:

First of all, Lorena comes from an old family bloodline, the Slenvaul's. They've had a strong influence on the Ministry for centuries, sometimes speculated as secret practitioners of dark magic, sometimes as power-hungry people, but in the past, when times were trying, the Slenvaul family rose up to support the Ministry, whether they took credit or not. Only one member of the Slenvaul family has risen to the position of power- the Minister of Magic- but it was nearly two hundred years ago. There has been a long line of Gryffindor's from this family. Lorena is no exception. A mysterious family artifact- a gold ruby ring- has been passed down through the blood line, but if it holds any significance at all, the Slenvaul family is certainly secretive about it. Lorena is the current ring bearer of the family.

Growing up, Lorena had a bad habit of wanting to play in the dirt with the neighborhood boys rather than with her dolls at home. She wanted to be adventureous and explore, but the boys often picked on her because they didn't want her girly cooties around. So, unwillingly, Lorena kept around her mother, who was feminine in nearly every way possible. Her mother micromanaged Lorena's clothes and hair, and even got her into makeup the year before she was accepted into Hogwarts. By now, whenever the boys picked on her, she'd retaliate full-heartedly, as she was slowly transitioning to the rebellious girl she is today.
When she came to Hogwarts, she honestly had no idea where she would be sorted, only that she didn't want to be in Slytherin. And where do all Slythie-rebels seem to go? Gryffindor of course. This happened to be very fortunate to Lorena, because after going through her bags that night, she realized most of her clothes were red, so whenever she wasn't wearing her uniform, she'd still match her proud House colors. Over the first year of school, she mostly kept to her studies, and didn't socialize with her fellow Gryffindor's often. One good thing she learned from her mother was how to work diligently. When her second year came around, however, the excitement of Quidditch was too much for little Lorena too resist. Learning to fly her first her had been a breeze, and now she's have an excuse to vent some pent up stress and frustration from all her hard work. Surprisingly, Lorena became a beater, one who would not hesitate to knock around her opponents. She was a feirce competetor.
Throughout Years 4 to 7, she rose to be one of the top students in almost every class she could excel in, and would have made the Quidditch Team captain if she hadn't been so busy with her studies. She didn't want to be a prefect either, although she liked bossing people around, she didn't want it taking up too much of her time.
When she graduated, she was recruited into ministry, and she knows no other occupation she could thrive in. Her ambitious nature makes her the perfect- and most dangerous- figure to enter the organization. She put on acts to get on the good side of the higher-up's, and she's very talented at persuasion. Her respected bloodline didn't hurt getting her into the Ministry either. Her family has been in the business for generations, and though the bloodline orignally came from Russia, the accent no longer lingers from generation to generation. They are also a proud people, not to be taken lightly. Though they have never had an affiliation with organizations such as the Death Eaters or the Order, they've had great influence on the ministry over the years. Like her predeccessors, Lorena is aiming for a powerful position in the ministry. Unfortunately, when she was recruited, she only managed to make it into the Auror's, and was typically treated as the group's personal secretary, often cooperating with the other positions in the Ministry to deal with complicated paperwork and such. She is, however, an excellent duelist, and would love to participate in more field missions, despite how unsatisfied she is with her low position. Let's just say she doesn't plan on being an auror forever- such a tragedy would bring 'shame' to her family name.
