A Mess Within a Mind, Unable to Avoid

'Yes, I did see the horrible things.' he acknowledged. Unlike Alexandra, he did not hurry to reassure Madison of her goodness. To him, it seemed a bit odd to add an answer to a question that had not even been asked. It was like adding an extra claw on someone's left cheek-bone 'just in case they needed it'. If someone needed something, they should ask.
The visions hadn't been pretty either, torturing people was no fun and the main projection had been a bit difficult to get rid of. Even so, she had prevailed.

Madison had gone silent, her gaze still trained on a spec on the other side of the room. She wouldn't ask for reassurance, she did not get that far in the thought process, and even then, someone like Madison would never want that kind of attention. The facts was all she needed, and for now, very little information was the only thing keeping her stable; no more, no less. Her mind kept resorting back to the warming memory of her mother, a scene that kept hitting replay even in the back of her mind.

Ouriel moved his head to rest on the coach beside Madison's leg, his head facing the front of the couch so that it wouldn't rip some chunks of flesh off her her limb. Slowly his consciousness drifted away and his rib cage expanded and contracted with air quietly. He took a second to re-arrange his wings in a more comfortable position then sunk more deeply into sleep.
Lids slid over his bright, golden eyes and would remained closed for quite a while.

Madison slowly glanced down to see the griffin resting, her gaze half dead and half beaten. She then rested her elbow on the armchair and rested her head in her palm. Within minutes, exhaustion took its claim on Madison, and she too, had fallen asleep.
