Magic:Abilities: Animagus, unregistered [sparrow]
Wand: Cedar, with Phoenix Feather as its core. 10 3/4 in, Quite Bendy.
Patronous: Sparrow
Specialty: Ancient Runes
Weakness: Apparition CharacteristicsPersonality: Since first coming to Hogwarts, Evie never spoke unless necessary, and even then her voice barely seemed louder then a whisper. She keeps to herself and her studies.
Likes: Evie has an odd liking toward reptiles, insects and spiders. She likes birds, of course, herself being able to communicate with sparrows, thanks to her animagus form. And be it a fictional novel or a thick textbook, Evie happily gets lost between the pages.
Dislikes: Evie does not like to appear weak or helpless in front of people. She will often deal with things alone, just to prove that fact, and refuse any kind of help. Much as being confined, trapped, or somehow deprived of her personal space or freedom, she takes flight on occasion, from all the things suffocating her.
Fears: Terrified of getting close to someone, of a touch, afraid it would leave a bruise. The fear has its roots, of course, and no matter how many times Evie tried to dig them out and destroy them, each time she failed and ended up drawing further into herself. HistoryEvie lives in Clarisse’s house, a pureblood witch who is anything but a mother to her. Coming from a line of pureblood Slytherin, Clarisse herself was placed in the house while attending Hogwarts, and was most displeased when her daughter was placed in Ravenclaw. This was not the beginning of Evie’s troubles, though, as even before she was being insulted or beaten for reasons she could not understand, or no particular reasons even – at the age of three, she was taken away from her father’s warm embrace, as Clarisse did not wish to have anything to do with the muggle man she married, and married only for his wealth and position. Evie’s father, Jonathan, was left running a small bookshop and never heard about or from his daughter again. According to Sorrow, as Evie later learned, Jonathan died somewhere in 2098. when his village was attacked by Death Eaters, left mostly in ruins and no muggles alive. During the years living in her mother’s house, Evie kept her mouth shut as Clarisse requested, never asking questions or speaking of her father. She stayed in her room, mostly, bearing Clarisse’s sudden outbursts of anger every now and then. Since she was mistreated and barely knew better, Evie believed this was the way things were supposed to be. The only comfort was sometimes offered from the side of house-elves, Sarce and Ebbi. Back in 2091., once the mistress was out of the house, Ebbi dared take the five-year-old Evie out to the park, to enjoy some fresh air. It was then that Evie, playing by a small pond, met a toad – since then her constant companion, Gogu. The odd thing about Gogu was that, at first, Evie thought she could hear him speak, an occasional whisper only she could understand. With time she indeed began believing they could understand each other, and while she believes he is simply her ‘special’ friend, a toad that can speak… is it possible that her best friend is actually more than meets the eye? She never really wondered about that, although Gogu himself implied something a couple of times. Although she had a constant friend by her side, Evie could not help but long for her father’s loving embrace and to escape the prison Clarisse had set for her. She used to keep a notebook, a diary if you will, where she wrote letters addressed to Jonathan. Those letters were never sent, but they kept Evie sane. In the summer after Sorrow’s revelation she wrote one final letter, adding it to the well-hidden collection, deciding it the time to stop with such foolish acts. Evie was never exceptionally smart or talented, but when she sets her mind to something – she can do it. She spent most of her time reading or studying, earning herself quite the useful skill. Over the course of two summers, finally, before her fifth year in Hogwarts, she managed to become an animagus. Becoming an animagus was not easy, but Evie often wished to hide, to escape her mother, and so she learned to transform into a sparrow. Becoming an animagus presented Evie with new possibilities, new moments of freedom and she took them gratefully. To be able to fly, to escape – to be free. Evie's favourite class was and is – Ancient Runes. As of late, Evie hopes to perfect her knowledge of that class and then one day, perhaps, return to Hogwarts to teach it. Other Characters: Misery Grace
